Yep, that's what I am wondering as well.
-
I've been rebuilding for approximately 2 to 2.5 years now and I've accomplished a ton. No more baddies, I had a car loan (paid off 2 months ago), I now have a mortgage and I have many tradelines: Penfed Cash Reward - 15000 Penfed Visa Gold - 5000 Kay Jewelers - 6500 Alliant CU Visa - 2500 Cap One Visa - 500 Orchard Bank - 300 ($8/mo Fee) Bank of America - 500 ($29/yr Annual Fee) I wonder how long I should be holding on to the lower limit cards? I only really use the Penfed Cash Rewards ( PIF every month ) and have 0 balances on all of the cards. Only outstanding debt is my mortgage. Scores around 759 according to MyFico last month. Thoughts on what to do next.....if anything?

I went for the increase on the Rewards Visa as it's the one I use all of the time and will create my largest limit on a card! I didn't need another card anyways, the AMEX just looked so sexy

Yes indeed, I just had offers added to my login at penfed. Trying to figure out what offer to snatch up assuming its a free "no-hard" credit.

I just logged in and after 1.5 years being with Penfed, they've given me some Approved offers when I logged in. I'm wondering which one I should take, given it's should be *hard* inquiry free, correct? I currently have: $2000 Penfed Rewards Visa $5000 Penfed Visa Gold (highest limit of all my cards) I don't carry a balance on any of my credit cards and only have a mortgage and used car loan (different banks). The offers they've given me are: $13,000.00 American Express $13,000.00 Visa Gold $13,000.00 Rewards Visa $25,000.00 Personal Line of Credit Plus other offers that I have no interest in like boats, motor home, motorcycle etc. Thoughts on the best offer to take?

The NewEgg Preferred doesn't report to the CRAs. I have one as well for a year now and hasn't once reported to the CRAs. Consider it a hidden tradeline.

I just got a letter in the mail from Kay's saying it's the most wonderful time of the year and they increased my credit limit to $6900. How generous Still no jewelry in sight for this Christmas!

We are buying our first home, set to close the 30th of this month and I have been SO worried about this. So far everything has been WAYYYYY too easy. I keep thinking something has to go wrong. I am praying that it doesn't but I have heard too many horror stories. Same here, we're set to close on the 30th as well and it's been smooth sailing so far.

My Fiance and I were just pre-approved for an FHA and it took 1-2 days through a broker.

Ok, I just dont want it to pop up on my report in the meantime if I can avoid it. I've worked a lot to get my report clean so that I can apply for my mortgage in 2 months and dont want a stupid $39 charge to ruin it. Thanks for your help!

My main issue is not wanting it to hit my credit report as it will hurt my chances at a mortgage. The amount is minimal. I will read up on the MA laws. Any other advice or is this the best route?

I received a letter today from Solomon and Solomon P.C. for a collection attempt on a Verizon FIOS account. I did have a FIOS account a year ago, but cancelled. Verizon attempted to charge a $200 termination fee (which they said they wouldnt) and several fights/arguements over the phone later, they said they would call us back after talking to a supervisor....they never did, but nothing ever came of the bill. They never sent us final bills or any notices of outstanding payments. Now fast-forward a year and I get this letter from Solomon and Solomon for a collection on $39.96. Doesn't obviously say what its for, but it does says Verzion and also lists my account # for that Verizon FIOS account. Now, what should I do about this? As of yet, they aren't reporting on my credit report. I'm in Massachusetts. Just wondering what my best repsonse to this is. Thing is, I have plans to buy a house with mortgage applications going out starting in July so I want to minimize the chances of this hitting my report for obvious reasons. Advice is appreciated. Thanks

Circuit City Store Card Changing to Best Buy Card

I still just have a Chase logo. Wondering when/if I will move over to best buy. -
I did the National PTA (no fee I believe) when I applied and did the whole online process. As with the previous poster, I was offered a Visa and Auto loan halfway through the process. They do pull EQ as part of the membership process. I found the whole process rather painless.
