  1. for the next 912 years when I am asked on a credit application if I have ever filed BK I will say yes, regardless of what is on my credit report. Methuselah has you beat by only 48 years...so close!
  2. Baddies will remain for 7, positives 10 hence the history on your report
  3. Glad to see such an informative, supportive thread! My advice would be to update your cv immediately, have it ready to submit electronically and in person and make sure it is all current, accurate and emphasizes all your best skills! Now is the time to start networking and call other people in your former industry. A lot of folks have been known to procure new employment not through a job board or advertisement but through friends or old professional (or even personal) contacts. Your resume gets bumped up the line when an internal referral comes through HR Definitely file unemployment, though from what Ive read you've already done so. Don't forget to update with them every couple weeks or whenever required. Ok, so you have to keep your cell phone..that is understandable. Do you ahev a smartphone? If so, what about downgrading to a sock drawered old model and cancelling your data plan? That should save at least another $40 and avoid the contract cancellation fees. Last, don't forget that you are not alone! Not only do you have us at CB, but there are a TON of resources for you out there. There are many people without work right now so don't feel like you are the only one. Be persistent and creative, sell yourself and your skills and something will surely come though for you. Best of luck to you OP
  4. No need, Radio has magic flowers for dealing with his CRAs. He'll be up and "blooming" again. Or pushing daisies. Y'all are crazy That's not a very 'rosy' prediction Bob
  5. So you sent a DV and they didn't respond? That is ok as long as they don't continue collection efforts - which includes updating/verifying CRA information. I believe the fact that they updated for December is a violation. In your next letter to the CA, include something to that affect but don't threaten lawsuit unless you are actually planning to down that road.
  6. Congrats that's quite the line considering your little-to-no history with them. Now cool it on the apps for at least 6 months!
  7. You're scores will improve just keep at it! And dont say it's not impressive - you should be proud of any work you've accomplished thus far!
  8. That stinks. Sorry to hear that happened to your brother
  9. Definitely takle those open/maxed out cards first. When you say a couple of months, do you literally mean 2 months or, for example, the middle or end of 2010?
  10. It has been my experience with Experian that they will not delete as obsolete until it is actually obsolete and this includes disputing during final month or reporting
  11. Yep and agreement = lots of money paid to CRA and a minimum # of accounts to report (more than just yourself)
  12. they are referring to your CRA credit card inquiries
  13. "Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt." --Luci, Measure for Measure "Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his twin brother. " --Khalil Gibran "I never did anything worth doing by accident, nor did any of my inventions come by accident; they came by work. " -- Thomas Edison "Chance is a word void of sense; nothing can exist without a cause." --Voltaire "All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth." -- Friedrich Nietzsche
  14. If you do, you have to post a picture! Seriously though, if you want to dye your hair black that should be fine and is completely acceptable.
  15. Can you tell I'm bored?? 2700 posts now in this thread
