I am getting ready to prequalify for a home loan in a few weeks. I am speaking with real estate agents now to find one that I like to work with. Yesterday I was talking with one who said that part of the home buying process, there will be an appraisal that I need to pay for. If the appraisal comes back higher then the buying price, the seller can back out or try and ammend our offer. This will be an FHA loan. Is this true? What in the heck do we go through the whole "bargaining/make a deal" thing if soemthing that is costing me money is eventually gonna hurt me in the end.

I believe it is 10 months or less you dont include on your DTI.

This is what I just read: Working to accommodate the new, lower overall limit of the bill, negotiators effectively wiped out a Senate-passed provision for a new $15,000 tax credit to defray the cost of buying a home, these officials said. The agreement would allow taxpayers to deduct the sales tax paid on new car purchases, but not the interest on loans for the same vehicles.

Will you marry me? -
I have a friend that has 2 credit cards at 18% interest with balances around $7000 each card. His scores are in the low 7's. Can anyone recommend a credit card that he may get that has a lower rate that he can transfer these high interest funds to. Looking for a quality card.

Thanks for the info squirrel girl. So as part of AAB, can I choose any funds I want or do I have to choose an age based fund or can I set up an allocation on my own?

I have a 401K but have been wanting to open a Roth IRA to have some retirment money that wont be taxed. I have looked at a few and saw T. Rowe Price has something called Asset builder that I can contribute as low as $50 a month to start. I was wonderingif anyone had any experience with this. I was going to start saving a little cash to hit the $2500/$5000 mimimum investment in other places but if I can start right away with such a low amount I would love to start now. Does anyone have any opinions on TRP Asset Builder and TRP in general? What would be a good non-age besed fund to start with? Thanks... Bubba PS - Do you know if they do a hard inquiry to start an account?

Whychat process - next steps
BubbaPuck replied to BubbaPuck's topic in Medical Billing & Medical Collections
Bubba-- I have been doing my best to help you get these off your reports, you do NOT want them "updated" to paid, that will cement them to your reports and DECREASE your score. Please just try to redispute them with the medical dispute letter, you can TRY using the "SOL" letter instead, but in any case you should wait until mid Nov. Whychat... we went thru this during the summer and I was able top get most of the collection accounts removed. I have 1 paid collection left from a CA. Your last bit of advice was to wait until mid Novembe and start over. I want to make sure this gets done right. I sent the initial dispute letter to Exp & Eq, both of which have verified. What should my next step be? -
Did we ever establish a good company that still does daily pulls? I have cancelled TC and am looking for a replacement?
-
Same problem for both mine and my wife's account.

Has anyone here written a letter to the AG or BBB, that can help me understand what I should say in the letter. Thanks... Bubba
-
Thanks for the advice. What exactly should I say in this letter to the AG and BBB? They both have online complaints. Should I do it online? Wha exactly should I tell them?
-
Use a simple dispute to Experian, but make sure you use the word reinvestigate in your next letter to them. Don't send any " proof " of anything to a CRA. They shred virtually everything you send except the basic letter. I will send the reinvestigate letter first thing Monday. I will not send the documents but should I mention my contact attempts as part of the letter? Should I do this before the AG/BBB letters?
-
Yes, plenty of things you can do, Bubba. The first is to remove your old addresses from Experian, using strategies posted below in my siggy within the address links. The second is to dispute again with Experian using the word " reinvestigate ". Thanks all! My first response didnt seem to have the full response. Should I send copies of the letters to the CRA showing my attemtped contact? Since this is experian, they always seem to respond saying they have already investigated.

Yes, plenty of things you can do, BubbaGump. Shoul I include copies of the letters to the CA? Telling them I have tried to contact with no luck? The first is to remove your old addresses from Experian, using strategies posted below in my siggy within the address links. The second is to dispute again with Experian using the word " reinvestigate ". Thanks for the tips Bubba
