Are you guys all calling in for CLIs?
-
Congrats! I believe all CRAs took the full investigation period for me. I'm glad you had such good luck!

That is the option I chose (before EQ totally locked me out), with my explanation of "obsolete" in the blank box. Worked great, got 2 or 3 oldies knocked off.

Noooooo, don't be hurt!! It's not personal, it's her age. She's invincible and nothing bad will ever happen, remember that feeling? -

OP, your daughter is me when I was 19, 20. Got my first credit card, and screwed myself royally. It was stupid, and I was stupid for not listening to any of the advice my poor mom tried to give me. Hopefully she will pull her head from her behind and realize the actuality of what is going on. If she gets on top of things, the world is her oyster. If not, she's simply started a cycle that will continue for am embarrassingly long time. My credit has not been good since that first card, and it's my own fault. -
I haven't been able to access my EQ file online for free for a few years now. I did pay for it through MyFICO, but was concerned that it may be somehow incomplete since my other reports contain 12-15 TLs and EQ only has 4. Does this sound possible? Every time I try to access it online, I get security questions about a mortgage that I never had. I used to be able to submit disputes online but now I can't even do that.

I would imagine you can't dispute with a CRA if the collection in question doesn't exist with them. Is that what you were asking?

Help please! Regarding differences on credit reports
eatcookies replied to bm12484's topic in Credit Forum
I found that the drop off dates on my EX report were different than the ones on my TU reports, some were 6-8 months apart for the same tradeline. -
I read somewhere here recently that 3-5 credit cards is ideal. And that the higher the secured deposit you can put down, the better.

Okay, so I was looking over my EX report and it hit me that I have an HSBC baddie AND a baddie for Edison Park & Associates on behalf of HSBC. This is for the same charged off account. The HSBC baddie is correct in terms of the dates, etc., but on my EX report it states that it was purchased by another lender. The Edison Park/HSBC baddie is for $495 and the date given for opening is 11/2012...which happens to be when they pulled an inquiry. So, despite the fact that I haven't touched this account since 2009, all the dates look like it's a very recent thing. I did some Googling, and these people are no good apparently. I wanted to get their actual address that they use, so I called the number on my report and pulled a clueless bumpkin act, asking for their address. The address they gave me is not the one on my report. When the guy who answered the phone realized that they might be able to get money from me, he told me to send $540.31 rather than the $495 listed on my report. They have apparently been calling everyone in my family except me, yet they have my current address. I did not get any of the debt collection language or disclaimers, just a fumbling dude who is trying to get my money. I spent last year pregnant and too busy to do anything with credit - no new credit, no repair, and specifically, no new damage. 2011 and 2010 were spent not pregnant, but too busy helping my husband open his business, and still too busy to do any credit stuff. I was basically waiting for stuff to fall off. This is frustrating because even after all this reading, now I actually have this crap on my report and I want it the hell off. Who do I go after first? What letters will be most effective? Based on the conflicting dates and figures, a few complaints are in order, I imagine. I am not too worried about EPA suing me. HSBC has apparently sold the debt, the Edison Park people seem to have broken some laws...My head is spinning. Help!

Actually, my online banking for Cap One says the minimum is $20. I was just wondering how they handled overpayments.

So I have a question: if I overpay my bill will they add the surplus to my deposit?
