  1. Have you tried www.myrichuncle.com? The loans are financed by Doral Bank (I think), and the interest rates are insane for their subprime loans, but they take into consideration your GPA, major, and standing in school when evaluating your loan application. I took a loan through them last semester and it helped bridge the gap so I could finish my BA. That being said, however, if you do use them, you will have to follow up VERY CLOSELY as their tracking/customer service is not the best. Just be aware that the interest rate is MUCH higher than what you are paying on your unsubsidized federal loans (I chose to not defer my payment with them for that reason alone). Hope this helps . . . Good luck!
  2. Finally got an update. According to the website, we will ge stimulated on the 16th. Just in time to pay the app fees for grad school!
  3. Nothing so far and I keep getting the error message on the IRS site. We did DD when we filed back in Februrary. DH is --89 and I'm --53. Oh well, it'll show up eventually (or so they say)
  4. I just wanted to thank you all for your fantastic advice. I've been reading many of the posts after the past couple months in hopes of gaining advice on how to rebuild my credit. I seriously messed up my credit back when I was 19. I'm now in the process of trying to repair my credit in the hopes of buying a house when I finish grad school. Everyone's advice has helped me tremendously. I just wanted to thank all of you for your great information. Before CB: Cap 1 - Approved Instantly, $500 After CB: Orchard Bank - Approved Instantly, Low APR Card, $500 Lowe's - Approved Instantly, $700 Banana Republic - 7-10 day message, Approved, $500 I'm now officially done applying for credit for awhile. I'll let these cards age while some baddies fall off my reports. Thanks again!
