After Posting SS# In Ads, Lifelock CEO's Identity Stolen 13 Times

Perhaps, but it's worth repeating - not only for a good chuckle but also as a warning to anyone willing to pay for this guy's service. -
+1 I went through a similar situation once. The fraud department wanted to verify info because my CR showed a very recent change of address. The app will most likely be approved once you prove to them that you are indeed you.

To the OP and others: Congrats on your new TLs! As for "toy" limits, we all have to start (or restart) somewhere. My very first card was a $300 Capital One card. That was two years ago. It served its purpose well, and put me on the road to good credit. I now have cards with $25K+ CLs. People have to realize that not everyone is in the same financial boat, or has the same history. There are some here who would kill for ANY positive TL, and others whose CLs make my current ones look like "toys." Use what you're given wisely, learn from these boards as I and so many others have, and it won't be long before you'll parlay that $100 TL into something far greater.

Got a preapproval letter in the mail recently and decided "what the heck" since they pull TU. Haven't received the card yet, but the TL showed up on NCIDP today. Looks like they gave me a $9K limit, which isn't bad. Anyway, on to my question. Their site states "credit bureau monitoring at no additional charge." Anyone familiar with this? Also, anyone had any luck with CLI upon activation? Thanks.

Received a text message yesterday with the following: FRM:jpmorgan MSG:JPMorgan alert. Call (951) ***-**** Assumed it was a scam, and a quick google search showed lots of people receiving the same message. According to one poster, if you call them they ask for your card number and expiration date for "verification." I know most people here are savvy enough not to fall for something like this, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

I haven't received any stickers/tags, but they did send me a new card over a month ago with "PayPass" built in. My old card was nowhere near expiring. My SO has the same card with the same TL and didn't receive the new "PayPass" card.

Congrats! Waiting for mine to appear again in January.

Bye bye Chase Credit Cards... :-) Closed Three this week

OP: Sorry to hear of your problems with Chase, and I'm glad you were able to find a solution that made you happy. As for me, Chase been good to me so far. While Citi has been far more generous with CLIs, Chase was the first to get me a "real" starting limit, and has given me the highest initial limit to date. So far they haven't ratejacked or CLD'd me, either. Does that mean I trust them completely? In this current credit climate, I would be a fool to do so. In fact, Chase just sent me a bunch of 0% BT/Purchase checks for one of my higher-limit cards. They are going in the shredder. Why? Because who's to say that when that 0% expires they won't decide to ratejack it to 20+%? Regardless, as long as they continue to be good to me they will be one of my favorite companies, both for banking and credit products.
