  1. Any idea of how long one usually has to get the UW everything they've ask for?
  2. Thanks for your advice. I've been through so much throughout this process; this is just something else to cause me to lose sleep and I'm very sensitive. I've gathered up the missing W2s and I'm going to get to working on the amended returns as advised. Thanks again.
  3. First and foremost, I resent being called a liar. It was never my intention to blatantly lie and that is not what I did. I had gotten all, but a few of my W2s and when it was a matter of waiting around for them to send them when they felt like it or move forward to keep a roof over my and my children's heads, I chose the latter.
  4. I did not know that was an option until researching it today
  5. Back in 2011 and 2012 I was unemployed but worked a few temp positions with different agencies. When tax season came I was so desperate for my refund that I didn't wait for ALL of the W2s to arrive and filed my return without them. The total income was $2172 in 2011 and $2716 in 2012. I'm now gainfully employed and in the process of purchasing my first home. I received an email today with a list of conditions required to be met for the underwriter, one being that I need to explain why I did not include all my W2 income in 2011 and 2012. I began to write a truthful statement, but decided to come here before doing so. Is writing a truthful statement that I was a single unemployed mother desperate for my refund to make ends meet a good idea or is there another explanation that I should give? Please help! TIA
  6. Wow! That easy, huh? I'll get right to it. Thanks for your help!
  7. Back in 1999 a family member obtained telephone service in my name without my knowledge and the account had gone to collections shortly after. I was 14 years-old at the time. I was only made aware of it when I recently began addressing credit issues preparing for the purchase of my first home. The family member is fairly close in relation and I know that they have not live in the state the account was initiate in for or had the telephone number for over 10 years. I disputed this with Experian and the results came back that the debt was valid and I was directed to contact the creditor for more info, which I did. I explained the situation and was told that the only way the debt would go away was to PIF or file a police report for identity theft. My question are: 1. Is the debt even valid considering I was only 14 and not of age to enter into the contract; shouldn't my proof of identity be enough? 2. Can this agency out of the blue attempt to collect on an account whose last action was over 13 years ago? 3. What, if anything, can I do at this point to have this removed? Thanks!
  8. My CH 7 was discharged 6/2010 and I definitely want to purchase if possible. I maintained decent credit since the BK with the exception of one late student loan payment that totally slipped my mind. I was able to get a Cap 1 platinum card in 10/10 which has a $1750 limit with excellent payment history and a relative added me as an authorized user on an Amex. Aside from that, I haven't established any other credit. I have a stellar rental history and all other household bills. Background: Single mother $3600/mo income $75/mo debt (CC and Student loan) My credit scores are in the mid 600's and I'm looking at home in the $90,000-$100,000 range (Georgia). I really want to try for it on my own, but I have a relative willing to assist if necessary. I know I have to wait the full 2 years, but I was also wondering if I could maybe start the process since it's just about 45 days away.

  12. I received a letter from NES a few days ago with regard to an oustanding Chase credit card account. It states: We have not received a response from you concerning your delinquent account with the above client. In order to assure we understand your position, please complete and return this form so we may proceed accordingly. ____ I have many burdens upon me and have been reluctant to reply as I cannot pay the full balance at this time. Please contact me at n\my nunber above to arrange a schedule of payments. ____ I do not understand the balance. Please contact me so we may discuss this matter. ____ Simple oversight. Sorry for the delay, enclosed is the check for payment in full. I'm hesitant to do anything with this letter but throw it away. What should I do? I initiated a call to them in February when I received my income tax return and offered them an amount to settle. My balance is $7563 and they told me they weren't authorized to accept anything less than 60% which was over $4000. I told then all I had was $2500 and I wasn't working and wouldn't be able to commit to making pymts on the balance. Of course she got nasty and irrational, transferred me to her alledge supervisor who was nasty and irrational and hung up on me which forever ended our communications. My father who's a litigation supervisor at a collections law firm told me to just let it sit in hopes that the older it gets the more they'll be inclined to settle. Should I just take his advice and see how far they'll go?
  13. I have one foot in the door of my new apartment. I explained to the apartment manager how my credit took a hit as I fell on hard times the past few months. She said everything should be fine as long as I have no BKs, liens, judgements or repos. As of yesterday when I pulled my 3-in-1, I had none of those posted. I went to the mailbox and received the "explanation letter" from the credit union about my repo in April. I have to take all my paperwork back Monday and I'm paranoid as to whether or not it will have posted by then. Does anyone have a general idea as to when companys usually report (beginning, middle, end of the month)? TIA
  14. This is exactly what I'm going through right now. My EQ score was 508 the last time I checked about 3 weeks ago (I haven't checked the other 2 but I'm sure they are just as bad). I have an excellent rental history, 9 years at my previous apartment until I relocated 10 months ago. I've filled out all of my application paperwork and everything sounds good. I was upfront with the manager and told her I fell on hard times the past few months and that my credit reflects that. She told me everything should be OK as long as there a no BKs, tax liens, judgements or REPOS. I have a repo that doesn't show on my reports yet (I pulled today). I received an "explanation letter" from the bank today, I'm scared that the repo will post before next week when I return all of my paperwork. Do you think they will accept the 3-in-1 report that I pulled today? The rental agent works on commission and she is really trying to get me in, she's even told me certain things to put on my app to boost my chances.
  15. 1.My car was recently repo'd (yesterday), I called the CU that my car is financed through to find out what was needed to get it back. I was told that I must pay the overdue balance plus what would be due for the rest April. My payments are due bi-weekly, but now because I moved out of state I was told that I would have to convert my loan into monthly payments and it now requires a co-signer in order for me got get it back. Is that normal to require a co-signer in the middle of a loan? 2. Getting a co-signer is going to be virtually impossible, so my mother suggested using the money that I would have to pay to get it back and purchasing a new car before the repo hits my credit report. It currently reflects two 30-day lates in 2 years. How would I explain the open loan if I tried to get a new car? TIA
