Thinking about putting an Unemployment Note on my CRs
Ondacreditrebound replied to Ondacreditrebound's topic in Credit Forum
How has that worked out for you BigPerm? As for damaging, its already been done because I haven't been able to pay anything. I know I will need to show that I am making restitutions already, but as far as closing acccounts they are already closed. -
Is this allegedly your debt, or your parents? What agreement are you/they talking about? You might search area courthouses for their name and see if they actually file lawsuits, or are just doing the standard call/write/threat routine. You can often check court records online. DV: you are close to, if not over the 30 day period during which they are required to cease collection efforts until they validate. It starts ticking on the day they first make contact with you. This guy has filed quite a few suits in my county on behalf of AMEX with the last filing in June 2010. I don't see any for the NMAC, the OC.

The car was in my mother's name but I was driving and paying for it. I have been the one talking to these guys, not my mother. The car was repo'd in JUly and I got my first ltr from this guy on Nov 12 and I had already made 3 pymts to the OC. The post repo balance in 12K. I talked to James West on Dec 4th. The first payment is due to them this week. I know it's not a good idea to pay this guy. I just didn't think I could DV within the SOL. Are you saying I should? I also know that the account was assigned to URS by the OC and they "forwarded" the account to this cat, whom I also know is still a part of URS.

the repo happened in july and it was forwarded to this clown last month so this is well within TX SOL. again, they believe the agreement was made with my parent but it was not.

Wow, here's a name I haven't seen in a while! I got it Hegemony! I'm total rusty to this whole process again! It will all come back to me soon. -
Pls refer to my post yesterday "It's been a long time..but" I'm in TX, this jerk's office is in texas. A payment arrangement was made and they are to be paid a first payment this week although payments were already being made to the OC. This nimrod was ASSIGNED the debt and I got a ltr from them dated 11/14 and a call from them two weeks ago and today. Is it too late for me to DV them? I know it's insane to pay them but being in TX i'm thinking this jerk can actually file a suit. NEED HELP ASAP!!!!! Thanks

Thanks for responding and duly noted! -
Hi, all! I haven't been here in quite a while. A LOT has happened since I last "fixed" my credit.....I got laid off and have been for almost 2 years but I'm making it back real soon. Anyhoo, I have a DV question. I had a car, under a parent's name that was repo'd a few months ago (no money to pay it). It was "assigned" to a debt collector who in turn has fwd it to their "attorney". I (my parent) received a ltr from the atty on 11/12 saying I have 30 days to dispute the debt and last week the atty office believes they've made pymt arrangements with my parent to start paying this week. I have explained to my parent that we should NOT pay them. I was planning to DV them certified tomorrow to validate the debt which I don't believe they can. Will they toss it out under the auspice that payment arrangements have already been made with my "parent" even though it wasn't? Side note, I have been paying the original creditor ever since the repo but they told me that they assign the account to the jerks and even though they would accept my payments the assignee can still post on my credit report. Also, if it's only assigned can I DV them as well? Sorry I'm not being specific but the buttwipes could be watching. Thanks for listening!

Hey all! It's been a while I know. Life has been hectic around here lol. Umm, a company named NCA and Accounts Rec Mgmt did a hard pull. Anyone familiar with these creeps and if anyone has mailing info can I have it so I can quickly DV their azzes before they show up? Thanks

To my knowledge no Macys store will allow a split tender with two differnt credit cards. I know they will not allow a payment with one. I believe it has to be cash/check for the split tender option. And only some stores allow payment via Debit Card. Hmm well I paid for a purchase about 3 weeks ago using split cards (Macy's & MC) - with no problems at all. The store near me allows Debit card pymts as well, which I've made twice! Also, after reading this thread yesterday I called Macy's up and got an increase on the spot. I haven't had the card 3 mos yet but I've made now 4 PIF pymts in 6 weeks.
