How to respond to CA after DV? I'm losing my mind
ta1jr replied to tivaclare's topic in Credit Forum
I ran into this same issue with Midland. I sent a DV, they placed dispute language on my bureau's in the account description. Each bureau removed the dispute language off the reports when I called them, they were actually happy to do it. I think the customer service rep from EX made a comment that EX is seeing this with Midland frequently now. The rep went on to tell me that Midland updates each month and the dispute language would come back. My debt with Midland is outside SOL so I called them. I recorded the call and insisted I didn't dispute when I sent them a DV. The Midland rep read the letter to me....no dispute language. I insisted they remove it, she said only way to do that was to send a letter asking it to be removed. I said I didn't have time so she directed me to the Midland website and showed me how to send her a message saying, "I do not dispute this account with Midland." I did not place any personal info, account info, or any other info in the message, just those words. One week later, cleared from all bureaus and hasn't returned. My call to Midland occurred on Dec. 20th CFPB did nothing for me. I called, hey told me to contact Midland. I submitted an online complaint through the CFPB, they investigated and responded saying Midland verified and for me to contact them. My question, does a DV = "dispute" -
Account information disputed by consumer, meets FCRA requirements
ta1jr replied to TMORRIS3's topic in Credit Forum
Do you know where the dispute information is originating from? I ask this because I DV'd Midland a year ago and when they validated with me (sent docs to me) they then placed this on each bureau in the account description or comment section. I was able to get it removed. -
DW got the Kohl's card one year ago this month. Opening cl $700. Read this thread and thought I would have her look at her account, She has a balance of $590 (that will change, didn't know she was using the card so often). She hit the cli request button, immediate increase to $1500.

I sent Midland a DV letter in Dec. '15. They sent to me, in Jan. '16 a print out of charges made to a credit account (Dell), listing all transactions including late fee's etc. This list showed a balance that is significantly less than what Midland is demanding. The debt is out of statue of limitations and Midland verifies this by stateing on the letter that they cannot sue due the age of the account. The DV letter I sent them never disputed the account, it asked for verification, here is the meat of my letter to them: As the Account # is abbreviated, I don't know what account this is concerning, or if this is even an obligation of mine. Please provide: 1) The date the account was charged off or defaulted, please provide the account # and what type of account or loan it was. 2) The full name, SS # and addresses associated with the account 3) Provide a full explanation of how your firm arrived at the amount due - principal, fees, charges and interest. 4) Give me copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say I owe I am further requesting that you notify all credit bureaus to delete this tradeline if you do not have sufficient time to complete an investigation to validate this debt in 30 days. I am invoking Texas Finance Code 392.202, CORRECTION OF THIRD-PARTY DEBT COLLECTORS OR CREDIT BUREAUS FILES. In their letter to me they state, "we understand that you are disputing the accuracy...," "we are unable to determine the nature of your dispute..,"etc. They then placed a "account information disputed by consumer" on TU and EQ, which I did not notice on my bureaus until I app'd for the refinance. Best I can tell is that no information appears on EX regarding the words "dispute." I have applied for a mortgage refinance, cash out, and the LO and processor are needing the "dispute" to be resolved with documentation. I understand the need for resolution for this issue. (The LO is including this debt to be paid when the loan funds) I want this loan to close in June and we can go to underwriting next week because the appraisal, title, docs, etc. will be complete by then. Would it be prudent to contact Midland and inform them that I never indicated that I disputed the debt and they need to remove the language? Would this reset the age (it is due to fall off in 2017)? I live in TX.

I inquired with my current mortgage lender regarding refinancing my mortgage and the loan officer indicated that a FICO as low as 620 would qualify for a cash out refinance. I was under the impression that 680 was the threshold? Have required scores moved down or is this something I should follow up on?

Wife and I got auto bumps from $800 to $1100 two weeks ago. Hers came first, then mine a few days later. Both of us have had Red Cards since 2008, both started at $500 limits and had auto bumps this summer to $800. 7 yrs, no bumps, last six months...2.

Anyone here of CBS Collection Services?
ta1jr replied to ta1jr's topic in Medical Billing & Medical Collections
Thx. I will let you know. -
Have a $96 collection showing on TU only. Shows date assigned Sept. 2009. It is a medical collection and I am sure it is mine (one of the kids ER issues). Just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with them? I searched the different forums and came up with nothing. A google search comes up with the company but I can't seem to find any websites that have insight to this company and their practices. Thx

Guess I missed something, she was denied.....wonder if it was connected to yearly income? Is there a threshold?

This is true as well Not important. Its a builder card for now. She has 3+ years of college left as it stands, unless she pursues her masters. I think I heard that Journey gives increases....so maybe a PC once she gets a real job.
