THis is a copy of her email to me:
I just recieved a phone call from one of our underwriters and told me your application has been declined. The reasons he gave me is there were lates and a collection in 2007, lack of good re-established credit since the bankruptcy and too many inquires and new accounts in the past few months. Since all of the "stuff" in the mortgage industry lately, underwriting has become very tight, tough and strict. I asked him what direction you should take and what he suggested was to keep all of your accounts current, do not apply for any new credit, and he said to try again in 6-8 months.
I was hoping for a better outcome...but I guess patience is what we need to have right now.
The late was a 30 day late which will be 1 year out at the end of June - my bk was discharged in 2/06. I established credit cards in 1/08 which is the new accounts. The inquiries were from auto shopping which was justified by a letter. Should I just wait or is there someone out there that may give me a chance? Thanks for the help everyone - Kim
