Hello Everyone, I need some help. I became late on my account with them and I called and they said they would work with me. They took a payment over the phone and set up a payment plan. I logged into my BOA accounts today and my account is gone from online. So I called and now they tell me it is charged off. WTF. I need help because I want to pay it as I borrowed the money it was just that the IRS had seized my accounts and I had no funds. IS there any way or does anyone know if it can be pulled back? it is a debt for $25,000. I dont want to pay some debt collection agaency that purchases it for pennies on the dollar. Also, if I cant get it brought back, has anyone had any experiences getting it removed from the credit report and fighting the JDB? Please any and all help! Thanks

Asshat Verification Letter - from riddle (help!)
TRSTACIE replied to opfreak's topic in Credit Forum
I had the same collection from Dell with A$$et. I just got there so called validation. It is just a printout with their letterhead and it says debt validation and the place there account number and the previous creditor on it and call it a validation. It is not. DV them again and state they are in violation and have not prvoded sufficient validation. -
I just received a supposed validation from A$$et. It has their letter head with the original creditor's name and supposed original account number with an inflated blance I owe. And a last transaction date of 02/01/02. Am I correct is assuming this is not a proper validation?? Basically looks like they have a standard format in their systems and they just import peoples info and print it out claiming that it is a DEBT VALIDATION. It even says debt validation on the letter??? Anyone chime in on this? Thanks.

I have a green and was just FR after 2months. They want the 4506-T. Now I normally do not have a problem but from the horror stories I hear from everyone, even if you do comply with the request there is no gurantee of having your card re-instated. Does anyone know if there is something other than 4506-T they will use to verify income? W-2 and pay stubs? I am debating and think I will just cancel the card. Any input appreciated.

I sent a letter to Discover Card and got a letter in the mail today. It says "Discover card has a contractual agreement to report accurate info. It goes on to tell me to dispute. What number did you call? Has anyone written a letter to them? If so what address? I sent mine to Utah. Please help, I have one 30 day late from Sept.

Do not send them anything. I repeat, do not send them anything... Just give them the account number that is on your credit report, your name, and address. Has the CA placed the TL in dispute yet? Did you respond within 30 days of receiving the dunning letter? CA's are not required to ever validate an alleged debt, but the TL must be placed in dispute. On Experian it says consumer disputes and is in accordance with fair credit....SO, if CA do not have to validate the debt why does everyone say to DV them and how do they get them to remove the tradeline?? They keep sending me letters now saying that I can resolve all this for 30% less than balance so they continue to try to get me to pay this debt even though it is not mine. I did respond within thrity days of receving their letter but they keep piling on the mail. Any ideas?? If you do decide to file a complain with the BBB and AG's, send to your state BBB, your state AG, their state AG, and mail a letter to the FTC.

Hello, I have disputed MCM once. They responded by asking me to validate my own debt, i.e. send copy of my checks, DL, etc. Thirty days has now come and gone. So I have copies of everything and now I am sending them a second letter. I wanted to know which state BBB to write to and AG and also if anyone has the link on where to file a complaint with the FTC. They have not removed the tradeline and not validated within the time allowed by law. Also, any suggestions on what my second letter should read like? Once again thank you for all your help.

Very interesting as mine page says no preset spending lmit on my credit line when I log into AMEX. Perhaps the OP had something change in their credit profile.
