I don't remember having an account with HSN 15 years ago and she told me there was a birthday listed that wasn't mine. If you reread my statement, I was guessing that maybe a family member told them I was dead 15 years ago, because they have my social security number and other information tied to the account but theres a chance it was someone else entirely. The point is, why are they using 15 year old information to close an account in good standing and list it as a chargeoff? Their systems seem antiquated and inaccurate. I will not be the only one that falls victim to that sloppy system of record keeping, and in my opinion the title is still accurate. The title still applies, they acquired, closed my account and reported it charged off. I think the title will help when they tie a 15 year old account to the next person, they'll know what to expect. Either way, I don't care if the title is changed or not. There are a ton of titles less accurate than this one in the database from my years of experience on this site, so we both know what your presence in this thread is really about.

That member keeps coming into my threads telling me I'm wrong no matter if I'm right or not. Must be in with the admins or else he wouldn't be allowed to keep posting his posts with zero contribution to the problem. He's the one that told me I shouldn't have disputed online earlier in this thread despite it achieving a deletion within only a few days which avoided adverse action by my other creditors. He's basically a 🤡

UPDATE: So I've heard nothing via phone for a few days so I decided to call again. This time it went to a supervisor and she actually told me what the problem is. I am reported as "deceased". That's why there are no lates but a chargeoff. Because if they get notification that you die, the account is written off immediately no matter if it's late or not. She went on to ask me if I had an HSN account 13-15 years ago. I said no, but what does it matter? She basically said that an HSN account was made 13-15 years ago. She mentioned an address I used to live at with my family. I'm guessing my aunt or some other family member got tired of the calls and told them I passed away or something. I asked her why does it matter if the account is so old. She told me it doesn't matter if the info is 30 years old, they never get rid of the information in their systems. So that's it. A 13-15 year old HSN account that reported me as deceased. That's how you get a chargeoff with no lates. I checked the online dispute I did with Experian (the only CRA reporting the account), and they've already deleted the tradeline completely. Unfortuantely, the $4,000 credit line is gone as the account remains closed and probably won't be opened again, but I'm satisfied with have a good credit standing back. Thanks to those who gave advice in this thread. I appreciate it.

This month accounts were transferred over from Dell Financial to Comenity (dell pay), and to welcome their existing customers they are apparently closing accounts and then reporting an account that's only a couple of months old and never paid late as a "charge off" this month. Had only 12% Util. You can't make this stuff up. Do I contact a lawyer to sue or what? I'm pretty sure my other creditors will be spooked about the 40 point fico score drop. Thanks, Comenity! I disputed online but how would you handle this? Any advice is appreciated.

Jefferson Capital wants to F around and find out

A debt collector got bullied? Oh noes...! They would never bully any of us! Honestly your posts smell like a sock-puppet account, but ya go little guy.... I lived without credit for over a decade after my business failed. I've been an entrepreneur for 20+ years. I decided to go without credit because I was making good money and didn't need it. Credit repair has been a past hobby. I still don't need it, but it's kinda fun to me. Your ASSumption is completely wrong. The Jefferson Capital account was deleted from all 3. If you know anything about credit repair, once a CA folds, they'll take it off all 3, usually within a day of each other. I've never said EX didn't delete. You read in my sig that I froze EX and ASSumed. The reason I've frozen EX is completely unrelated, but you're sure puttin a lot of thought into me like I've living rent free. Or maybe you're trying to stir the PaN. I thought we had our fingers crossed. 🤡 -
I just now applied to the GM card that kept popping up as "outstanding approval odds" everytime i checked CK. $5k instant approval. This is from an app spree I did tonight which only produced 2 approvals, the other being citibank. I got denied by 6 other banks with silly reasons so far, like "you recently used too much of your credit limit". So CK is somewhat accurate IMO with the pre apps.

Yeah. I'm doing an app spree tonight. Haven't had great credit in over a decade. We'll see what a 772 vantage score produces. 😜 That's EQ btw. TU is only 747. EX is frozen. -

I felt like I owed a conclusion to this thread. Jefferson Capital folded like a cheap lawn chair. Here was my process: 1. Whychat's first debt validation letter to JC and the CRAs. (wait 30 days or until invest complete) 2. Whychat's follow up (2nd) letter to JC and the CRAs. (wait 2-3 weeks) 3. Consumer complaints filed with the cfpb and the bbb against CRAs. In less than a week after the consumer complaints were filed the accounts came off all credit reports. Total time to dispose of Jefferson Capital Systems: 6-7 weeks. The BBB complaint, which I thought would have been useless was actually effective because they send out paperwork multiple times for the CRAs to fill out. I would probably call this the "pesky fly approach" because even though they probably don't care about their already horrendous reputation on BBB, the annoyance of the paperwork and having to deal with the cfpb was enough that it wasn't worth their time/effort to continue to fight. Which is pretty much what most consumer complaints accomplish. I came across the cfpb/bbb complaint method on youtube, where many many credit repair videos talk about the effectiveness of using these platforms. And yes, its even free. I'm waiting for the official paperwork for the notice of deletion for proof and my own personal records, but they came off days ago and here is the score jump (i know it's not fico) over the past month from fixing my credit with the combination of whychat's disputes and consumer complaints: I hope this helps anyone fighting Jefferson Capital in the future. I'll respond if any questions/comments about this method or what to put in the complaints if anyone requests that info otherwise that's the end of this thread. Thanks for not banning me in advance. -

Right. Well hey I'll see myself off the site. You've been a big help, Pam. I appreciate it. Over the years users like centex and you and breeze, stryker and whychat and others all helped fix my credit and helped educate me on credit repair. I'll never forget that. I try to use humor in my posts (the title of this thread and the letter was kind of a joke, which I thought might have obvious). I would say to anyone reading this thread in the future to maybe focus on why the question went unanswered about whychats letters. Hopefully they can read inbetween the lines like I can. I'll say this: maybe if we're saying things like "bring it" on a what's supposed to be a consumer-help forum, theres probably some personal feelings involved that might be considered inapporiate. I mean I'm not one to speak on professionalism, but I dont feel like I could post on this site anyway without receiving a warning strike or being threatened by ban, which you guys have done literally every time I've tried to come back to this website in every thread. So why would I bother contributing? And I feel like I'm not the first person that felt like this on here. Anyway, anything I would post would be robotic at this point to try not to offend the one person watching ready to pounce, and any possible social interaction with the owners/mods would feel contrived. Being a grown man who stood in front of a judge against a creditor and won, I feel like I can't be the drone NPC type person you guys would value, with nothing to offer. So yes carry on with your Michael Jackson popcorn memes in 2023. It's brilliant. Thanks again for the help and for free as you pointed out.
