  4. I want to do an app for Marv and I know I can get my TU and EQ Fico's at MYFICO, but where does everyone get their EX FICO?
  5. I have been struggling (as my entire industry has) due to the economy and my income went down over $20,000 last year from the prior year. I have made every payment on time though to every creditor. I havent been even 1 day late in 3yrs and 2months now and have no collections. But I have got just about all my revolving charges close to thier limits so my credit scores have dropped to 629 (EQ) and 643 (TU) FICOS. So I have been looking for a way to make extra money to supplement my lost pay and have found it. I have an opportunity to start my own business and I need $9,000 more to pull it off. I already have customers and a vendor lined up and ready to start and it's legit, not MLM or anything like that. So I went unsecured personal loan shopping and went to Prosper who I have a loan in good standing with) and they are down for SEC Filing. Loanio is down for the same reason. Pertuity Direct and Lending Club both require a 660 FICO so I fall short. I don't want to go to my credit union (Vystar) because although they haven't touched my lines I have heard from a couple of different people they are snatching lines fast over there. I don't want to bring attention to my high utilization and leave with less than I walked in with. I think all my relatives are pretty much hand to mouth so no go there. I don't know whether Finance Companies even loan that much unsecured, but I have heard that using one of the "Finance Companies" can look bad on your credit report as inquiries or loans so I hesitate to find out. I haven't put in any applications yet because I want to be smart about this and not cause any further drop in my credit scores. Can anyone recommend a lender who loans this kind of money to someone who has paid spotlessly the last few years but has high utilization and debt-to current income ratio? I really appreciate any help!
  6. That'll be 25 cents, Kevin. You are cheaper than AMEX too !!!
  7. I thought something like this might happen. I feel silly even complaining about it, but maybe it will help me feel better. I've been travelling ALOT for the last 2-3 months for my company and my utilization got up to 70-80% Then got back and paid big chunks on my cards including $1600 to AMEX. (I owed $1800 on a $2000 cl, but wanted to keep a couple hundred on there hoping it would keep them from closing it) The day after my payment they closed my account. They said my credit score had gone down to high utilization. I explained that yes it had, however, I had never been overlimit, missed a payment, or made any less than double the minimum payment to any creditor. And now I had paid all my cards down to an average utility of 12% now. The rep didn't seem to care a bit -- I was hoping they would offer a financial review or something. (Was I really that desperate for their love that I HOPED for a financial review?) They said if "what I was saying is true" (did they just insinuate I was a liar?) then I could reapply in a couple of months when my utilization was showing having dropped on my report and I would probably be approved for a new card. WHAT???? That basically means that if I can prove I have no need whatsoever of thier card I can have it, but the first time they get an indication thier card has been usefull in any way they will close it. Who needs that? ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG!!!! Hmmmm ..... I do feel a bit better, thanks for listening -- its more than those folks at AMEX would do!
  8. Oh my goodness, please don't divorce due to debt! You can still cut your budget, reduce payments to your parents, and sell the house and perhaps the BMW and stay with your wife and child. Please don't make your child pay for stress your wife may be causing you ... I'm sorry to get personal, but please think about this and exhaust all your options first. Good luck! I don't like divorce either, however, your wife doesn't seem to be a partner with you. I wouldn't reccomend a divorce to anyone, but I would tell my wife that our situation is bad and some big changes will have to be made to salvage it. That it may mean selling the house, driving more economical cars, or putting the children in public school unless she has some other ideas. That you want her love and support through this and look forward to working with her as a team. If she is not willing to make the sacrifices then she will leave. Although I don't agree with divorce, you CANNOT kill yourself so she can keep up with the neighbors and she has a choice to make about what is important to her.
  9. "dear incompetent d**chebags" is a great way to start a letter and I have had some success with letters started in just such a manner. Grabs thier attention and tells them right off the bat that you aren't someone they are going to ignore easily. Of course, if you are planning civil action, you may want to be a bit more reserved in your choice of descriptors.
  10. LOL..... I got a CL increase also, but from the lowly Kay Jewelers (not saying the jewelry is lowly, just the credit)-- A card I got just to get a decent limit posted when I was at the beginning stages of repair. I have used it once for a $200 purchase and sock drawered it a year and a half ago. They went from $3,000 to $4,800. I guess it'll help my utilization anyway -- no intention of actually using it (unless my wife finds out she can go on a Kays spree).
  11. Oh, OK -- that makes more sense. Thats who has my mortgage and we are looking at restructuring it to get rid of the PMI. Thanks!
  12. Got an inquiry on my EQ report from First USA Bank. Never heard of them and certainly haven't applied for credit from them. Anyone know anything about them? Should I contact them or EQ to get it removed?
