  1. I have purchased my reports from MyFico....but can't find a number on those reports. I have my "free" report from January so I can compare those with the more recent to see what's left on there that needs disputing. But are those too old? Do I have to have a report number to dispute?
  2. Checked MyFico today and TU is 678 and EQ is 621 (up from an embarrasing 473 in 2006). I would love to know my Experian score! I'm absolutely shocked at my TU score. That's with 85% utility (I have very low credit lines). Imagine what it will be on the next reporting cycle because I'm paying off or down everything. I've avoided seeking CLI or new credit because I plan to apply for a new mortgage loan soon and don't want any inquiries on my reports. I've been hesitating to take that step because I wanted my scores up as much as possible....but I think I'm ready now!! At least I know that whatever Experian is, my middle score is at least 620 (the magic number for some lenders.) OMG!!! I'm so excited!! It's all because of the great information here on CB. Taking a proactive approach has certainly paid off. Thanks everyone!
  3. I "got the palace" in the "Big D" a few years ago. Two years later the ex filed BK and since his name was still on the mortgage, he included the house. I fought with the mortgage company to change the mortage statements to just my name - which they did. He did not reaffirm. I also fought with them about reporting my payments - which they do. The statements say "This morgage statement is for informational purposes only as this debt may have included in a bankruptcy action or may have been discharged. This is not an attempt to collect, recover or offset the mortgage indebtedness against you personally." When two parties are on a mortgage but only one files BK, then where does that leave the other? The mortage company and I have been playing nice - I pay, they report - since the BK in 2005. Now, I'm ready to sell and move on. Should I expect any issues?
  4. Went from $2,500 to $500 Guess it's because I haven't bought anything from them in more than a year. Darn it! Any suggestions - if I DON'T want a hard pull??
  5. I have the same problem. How critical is an overdraft or returned check two to three months back?
  6. I'm preparing to apply for a mortgage loan in mid May. Here's the deal: I can't get EQ and EX to let go of a nasty old Chase CO. It was supposed to fall in March. TU dropped it in January, but EQ and EX have yet to do so. If I dispute, do I give them another 30 days to fix it? The crappy thing is that EQ has always reported this account as 120 days late instead of a CO. (Disputing that a couple of years ago did nothing.) I need it off of both reports ASAP. Also, I have a pesky Discover hanging on to EX for dear life. That account was supposed to drop in February. I disputed and fussed a long time ago and usually EX won't look at second disputes. Is there anything I can do besides sit here and simmer??? (and hope a mortgage lender will overlook these baddies)
  7. So how do the EX backdoor thing? I've never been able to figure it out. Also, this MyFICO 50% sounds like a better deal than the TU rip off they're doing these days on TC. Does everyone agree?
  8. OK..thanks. I was just hoping to delete instead of age off so it won't show up on a full factual. In any case, I sure don't want it on there any longer that necessary so I better just leave it alone.
  9. Great....TU already deleted that and another one that was set to fall off in May. That gets me too baddies off in one day!! It took only a few hours for a reply. I'll wait a week or so and see what happens with EQ. Thanks for your help!
  10. OK...I did the online dispute for TU. Do you think I should do this for EQ and EX too? (I can't do these online though because of the security freeze.)
  11. I need to order my free CR. Equifax says I can't because I put a security freeze on my report awhile back. It says I need to do this by mail and I need my PIN. Can't find it.... Any suggestions? (Their phone system sucks!!)
  12. Great...I'll get this off now then What do you mean by a full factual will show aged off acounts? wow...I've never heard of that
