spongenotbob replied to spongenotbob's topic in Credit Forum
Thank you. Not what I was hoping to hear but, so it goes. Does anyone have experience with their approval process? Is it as ugly as their mortgage process? Thanks - snb -
Anyone happen to know which FICO model they use for their home equity products? Is the process as painful as their regular mortgage app? Thanks CB!! snb

Thank you, good luck! sorry, unclear, was able to get chargeoffs and "negative accounts" off, not BK... still working on foreclosure in process/ mortgage stuff, little luck there, Got it.... thank you!

The Master Do NOT Buy FICO Scores From myFICO.com Thread
spongenotbob replied to BobWang's topic in Credit Forum
How about a paid method to get EX 04 and TU 04? (but still soft pull, obviously) PS: I don't think I want a "milestone" card... Thanks for all suggestions! -

The master 2005 BK7 filers countdown clock... (10 years)
spongenotbob posted a topic in Credit Forum
10/17/2005 was the implementation date for the fabulous "new law" for BK, which lead well over a million americans to file for bankruptcy in the 2 months just prior to implementation. Many of us here are looking forward to 10/2015 to finally have this drop off. However, I know it's possible that some might fall off sooner. The purpose of this thread is to report when people actually start to see their 2005 BK7's drop. For me... BK7 still reporting on all 3 reports (despite my best efforts). Filed 10/2005. No IIBs or any other indications of the old BK left. Thanks! -
Really? Got any examples? I pretty much assumed I was done doing business* with Amex for life. *Exception: I did get a Corporate Amex card from my employer less than one year post-IIB. Didn't ask for it; it was something they expected me to carry. Well, nothing that definitely proves anything, but trying to connect the dots: 1. AmEx got mouse-slapped for a few million $s along with a consent decree for offering debt settlements and "forgiving" the remaining portion of the debt only to turn around and deny credit to those same people because they still owed AmEx money (i.e. blacklisted); 2. AmEx was forced to contact all those people and offer them a pre-approved AmEx card. The card had CLI restrictions during the first year (or something close to a year) and thereafter was to become a totally unrestricted AmEx product (although I seriously doubted AmEx would REALLY forgive and forget 100%); 3. Got a close relative who AmEx mistakenly said burned them in the late 1970s. He was blacklisted until the early 1980s and is de-blacklisted apparently when they approve his app for a new card. AmEx pulls another stunt and says he burned them for close to $70k. They apply a few times a year until the time when #1 started and always received the "You burned us so FOAD" rejection letter with no credit pull. Strangely enough during all this time they are softing their credit reports several times a month and one time even placed a hard INQ for no reason at all. Anyhow, when #1 is happening, they apply and get approved. D* back to the 1980s. Strange. 4. Tried for the 61-day CLI and given the "You burned us so FOAD" rejection. Tried again at 6 months and again at a year and also FOAD'd. Shortly after a year they send a letter saying they'd like to give a CLI. Strange. 5. Apps for a new card a month later and instant approval. Massive success on 61-day CLI. Really strange. 6. Apps a third card and instant approval. Does it get any stranger? 7. They keep begging them to take a pre-approved Plum, Platinum, Gold, etc .... They think they got burned for $70+k and they are kissing her crusty flowers? I'm trying to connect these dots and it just doesn't make sense. At all. The only thing I can come up with is that their blacklist has Alzheimer's. Hmmm. That is odd. Although you imply that Amex never really lost any money on this close relative. So could it simply be that Amex cleaned up their records?

MyFico now has daily monitoring of all 3 Fico's

You guys have officially broken myWANGo. Now getting: Firefox can't find the server at secure.myfico.com -
I'd say you're about right ... I just brought down my one "outlier" Utilization card, from 89% Util to 48% Util... bought me about 10 points (Equifax FICO04)... nowhere near the impact of bringing overall util down from 70% to 48%... which was over 30 pts. So, your math (75/25) seems to be dead-on accurate sir. Well done. PS: Effect on overall util with this one paydown was negligiable. (less than 2%, and overall Util is not near any boundaries).
