Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is possibility to ever remove a hard pull due to the circumstances? Back story: I was applying for an apartment rental and part of the process was for the management company (lets call them Alpha) to run my credit for approval. They did a credit check which resulted in the hard pull. Two weeks went by and I had heard nothing back from Alpha. I decided to contact them again and found out that three days after I applied, Alpha stopped being the management company and now Beta is the new management company. This new management company has no record of me ever applying to this apartment complex as they said Alpha must have lost my application in the first place. Beta said I would need to apply again for another credit check. This would result in another hard pull. As I was approved somewhere else, I no longer need Beta or their apartment. Obviously I do not need to re-apply to Beta but if the previous company, Alpha, gave me a hard pull and absolutely nothing was done (aside from losing it) was done with my application. I do not know what happened to Alpha but shouldn't they have mentioned that management was changing? It's not like they didn't know a new management company was taking over in the same week, right? As Alpha made a hard pull on my credit report and had no intention of following thru of completing the application process, could that be a valid reason to remove a hard pull? I understand that if they had approved/denied my application, the hard pull would be valid. I would be totally fine with that but not only did they drop the ball but they actually lost it. Do I have any options with this or do I just have to wait the full 25 months for it to fall off naturally?

I am currently trying to get a Closed account off my credit report but I am unsure of which letter I would need to use to send to Merrick Bank. The account is listed closed, Paid, zero balance and the date of last activity is 03/16/2012. I live in CA however my Experian report states that this should account will fall off in March 2022. I have already tried to dispute it with Experian but they said it was verified already. Can I actually get this account removed and if so, which letter do I need to send? Dispute? Obsolete? Something else entirely? Thanks in advance!

Hello all, About four weeks ago (August 6th) , I received a collection letter from Northstar stating that they were trying to collect a debt from LVNV that was about 12 years old now. The next day (August 7th), I had sent off an LV letter to them as it was about 5 years out of SOL. Two weeks later (August 20th), I got a "Verification letter" from Resurgent stating who had bought this old debt. Knowing that Resurgent and LVNV are the same business, I was about to send another DV letter when yesterday (August 31th) I received this letter from Resurgent Resurgent Capital Services L.P. ("Resurgent"), One of its servicing agencies... Further down the letter, it also states "The Law limits how long you can be sued on a debt. Because of the age of your debt, LVNV Funding LLC will not sue you for it, and LVNV Funding LLC will not report it to any credit reporting agency." As LVNV is currently on my three credit report's, would a copy of this letter be sufficient to send to the CRA's to have them remove these tradelines. If not, what should the next course of action be?

I live in California and both letters and envelopes are already in my file drawer and scanned into my hard drive. I had a feeling it might be a little odd that they sent a response this fast.

Back on March 12th, I received two CA letters from the same company CAPITAL MANAGEMENT SERVICES, LP trying to collect for LVNV. Both accounts were at least two years past the SOL so I sent them a DV letter for each account. These letters were sent March 14th. Needless to say, I was very VERY suprised that I received answers for both letters today. The letters state: We are in receipt of your correspondence requesting information regarding your account. However, Capital Management Services, LP is no longer servicing your account. We have forwarded your correspondence to LVNV Funding LLC" Something sounds fishy here. For a company to send out a response so fast is slightly odd but can a CA forward your DV letter to a different company? Does this affect any time frames or will LVNV just have someone else send me collection letters? The only reason I am concerned is I am currently trying to get another LVNV account off my report for numerous violations(factoring account, installment account, etc...)

Hi all, Over the weekend, I received a letter from Richard J. Boudreau & Associates, LLC (who just did a hard pull on my Experian report) and listed something very confusing. 1. It appears that this collection agency is trying to collect for LVNV. I never received a letter from LVNV about this so called debt I owe. 2. It also appears that LVNV bought this debt from "Heritage First Usa" 3. It states that "Heritage First Usa" is the Original Creditor 4. I never heard of/did business/obtained a line of credit from "Heritage First Usa" My question is: Who should I be sending a DV letter to? A Different letter? I would like to take care of this asap as I am trying to look at getting my first home loan in the next couple of months.

No, but I will be on the lookout for it. Is this Weekend card the same as their Store card? I am wondering if they are getting rid of the store card and just have one card.
-
I sure hope so. In my ideal world, they would ditch the store only card and merge their Plan A and Plan B cards together into one card. That way, I could finally start getting a CLI with them.
-
Yes. When I called Best Buy yesterday, the CS rep said that all cards associated with Best Buy will be taken over by Capital One starting on April 2nd, 2012. We will be getting new cards and I think she said new accounts numbers with the old account info. One interesting thing that the recording stated is that Best Buy will now accept credit card payments at the store now.

I've also been looking for that info. When I called yesterday and was told about the Capital One merge happening on April 2nd, the CS rep gave me this address Retail Services PO Box 5893 Carol Stream, IL 60197-5893 I am not sure how effective this address will be but its worth a shot. I also want to point out that the Representative was not sure how Cap One was going to handle the store card as far as credit limits go but she heard they might change a few things about the store card's functionality.

I have one collection that is about 90 days from it being in the SOL timeframe (I live in California) from Applied Bank that was charged off a few years ago. I also have something from LVNV that is a year past the SOL that was recently reinserted that I am currently trying to remove as well. I am just suprised that I havent received anything in writing from this CO. If they did pull my report and decided not to sue, do I let it stay on my report or try and remove it? If so, when do I try to remove it?
-
Ok, I just pulled my Experian credit report after finding an unauthorized Hard pull on my records. It was done on 01-26-2012 by RICHARD J BOUDREAU & ASSOCIAT. The problem is I have never received anything from this CO and never authorized them to do anything let alone pull my credit report. I never even heard of these bottom feeders before this hard pull showed up on my report. Besides putting a fraud alert on my report, is there anything else I should do?

Its the store card

I was wondering about something. If I wanted to send a Goodwill letter to possibly remove a 30 day late for my Best Buy card, Would I send it to Best Buy or HSBC? Would anyone have a valid address or current contact to send this letter to? The only info I could find is a few years old so I am hoping for something a little more recent than 2007.

I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction for this. I am almost finished paying my Hooters card that was closed a while ago. About six months ago, I called their CS number and was told that once I finished paying it off, I could have the account reviewed for possible re-activation. So with one more payment left to make, I called them to verify that information. Needless to say, I was denied with the reason "Your Account performance with the Hooters MasterCard". After receiving an (801) number to their credit department, I was told the actual reason. "Merrick Bank no longer has a contract with Hooters for their credit card services". The rep went further by saying they could have probably made an exception since I havent been late in 25 months but since they no longer have a contract with Hooters, nothing could be done. The rep said it was done very recently. A quick search on the actual Hooters Credit card site still states they are dealing with Merrick Bank. My question is Now what? Has anyone heard of this happening? I already have a Cap One card but would like another card that has similar terms to Hooters.
