  1. Citibank is a bit strange. I know people who opened and funded an account online, only to have it closed, but went into the branch and got it opened again (with manager approval).
  2. How long ago did you apply? Mine was probably a year and a half ago.
  3. I know that they ran Transunion when I applied for mine, and it was a hard inquiry. Not sure about now, but at the time, they required a 620 minimum FICO for a checking account. They also run Chexsystems.
  4. DEFINITELY watch out for Bank of America. They shut my down after it was opened for almost two months after a random Chex sweep, which is how I discovered that US Bank "forgot" to close my account three months prior. I found out when I couldn't log on to online banking. The entry is off now (thanks to a nasty letter from an attorney friend), but I wouldn't go back to them.
  5. Update: US Bank was NOT being cooperative about their error, and the dispute I filed with Chex came back "verified". However, an attorney friend wrote a letter to US Bank's legal department about four weeks ago. Well, today I receive notification that the Chex entry was DELETED.
  6. Call them. One of two things could have happened. The checks you deposited could have an "uncollected funds" hold, or there was a hold and they paid your car payment. Your transaction history doesn't show this? quote name='Scorefighter' timestamp='1325175379' post='4595743'] Well, i just checked my account balance online and i see this: Balance $618.48 Available Balance ($17.16) Now im worried. Will i be overdrafted or not? I cannot remember the last time this happened. I recently deposited some holiday checks and wrote one for my car payment to Wells Fargo, the balance is there but what will be the outcome of this? Thank you! www.tabbank.com
  7. Not sure about that, but they do run Chex as well as a credit report. They ran Transunion on me. They want at least a 620 FICO for a checking account.
  8. I feel ya!! They "forgot" to close my account after closure, I racked up a few fees, and found out later that they closed the account almost three months after I requested it, reported me to Chex for 'account abuse",and this caused Bank of America to close both my checking and savings account. After admitting that they failed to follow through, initially, I was supposed to get a letter for Bank of America, indicating that they Chex entry was an error, as well as a deletion. NOW, they are telling me that the deletion "may take up to 60 days", and that their legal department informed them that such a letter was "against policy". I have disputed it on my end, and I DARE them to "verify", as an attorney friend of mine is chomping at the bit to go after them.
  9. I ran all three, and nothing new other than a new account, a 5k credit card from Capital One. It was definitely the Chex entry that caused the closure from BoFA, as they say so in the letter. The Chex entry is $52 unpaid and "account abuse".
