My BK is 6 years old and my scores range from 708-720 with no negatives on my reports other than the BK itself. 750 after a year is not realistic.

You shouldn't feel conflicted. They are a horrible, predatory lender. You will never get a "high-ish" credit limit with them, there are no cards to play right with them. They will only suck every fee they possibly can out of you.

Collections after a BK are a kiss of death and are probably the reason you were denied. Work on those.
