  1. "We do scratch our heads sometimes," Boone says. "Why does that guy have five Visa cards from Chase?" antoher great line from the article. Obviously the answer is the guy is doing it for the beenies!!!
  2. "You can't have 'too much credit,' but you can utilize too much credit," great line from the article and the one that sooooooo many credit card naysayers don't comprehend.
  3. I have too many for me, I can barely manage to rotate the 13 I carry now
  4. Is this a low limit card? all the posts seem to indicate nothing over $5k has been given as a cli.
  5. All the cards are signature. A batch went out that doesn't say siggy, but it is. In fact it should say signature online. Aaah ok, thanks for the info
  6. Correction my offer is slightly different category wise: Earn $25 cash back after qualifying travel purchases by March 31, 2012* Start this year smart by getting more out of your travel plans. Act now to earn $25 cash back after qualifying airfare, hotel, travel agency, car rental and cruise purchases that total at least $199 made with your Bank of America® Visa Signature® credit card account by March 31, 2012.
  7. I received the same email offer but is states visa signature card and the cards they issued in exchange for the FIA card does not have the visa signature imprint upon them.
  8. yes yeah but that palladium card has a price tag for the service same as the centurion card does. Still not sold on the value of that 'extra' service vs the plat card, however my needs are relatively simple when traveling
  9. I feel strange when I only have cash and no cards.
  10. When I didn't have Amex, I didn't care about it. now that i have AMEX I can't imagine not having it. They simply offer some of the best benefits and customer service in the charge/credit card world. Case in point, I had to dispute a charge on a citi card and the process involved talking with a CS rep in an indian call center reading from a script and the end result was they could not or would not do much to resolve the issue causing me major frustration. Similar type of issue with my amex plat and the process involved talking to a US based rep that attempted to find me a solution instead of reading from a script. End result problem solved and i was not frustrated. Also my accountant loves the way Amex does the end of the year billing summary
  11. also u get spg gold status, upgrades and gifts on rooms with preferred hotel partners and a huge one for me. discounts on gift cards with platinum member rewards. I used some points recently to get a couple of $500 saks cards for 35k points a piece instead of the 50k point exchange. Also I exchanged my MR points this year to British airways points for a 40% bonus. The card more than pays for itself if u can take advantage of the promos and perks. If u don't travel then the card is really not worth the fee.
  12. I would pull the trigger on the palladium but that annual fee is not something I am willing to fork over, given amex plat does good by me. I could buy an unlocked iphone for the cost of the annual fee. I also still have to figure out what to burn the 50k points on my sapphire pfd on.
  13. Amex plat has the one thing where all the other cards fail, namely customer service that is pro customer. Any issues or disputes I have with merchants, Amex takes care of it, no need to jump through hoops, no customer service rep reading from a script in India/philipines/emerging market call center du jour (citibank). Amex has no foreign etf fees. I actually USE my amex MR points for useful items and not useless ones with other point programs. My Amex will swipe and be approved in other countries whereas I have been frustrated and asked to call fraud depts for other cards(FIA) even when I have alerted them prior I would be traveling. throw in the mix the annual $200 trvel credits, lounge access, hotel upgrades, buyer protection and extended warranty that come with the card; Amex plat is the 1st card I reach for and always carry, whereas other cards get rotated. Also expense management and year end statements are the best bar none The card does pay for itself and if u get a bonus points offer u really come out ahead.
  14. Can someone explain to me why this card is worth the fees? I can buy an ipad for that amount of money
  15. For my use: 1. Amex plat 2. Schwab 2% cashback 3. Amex Starwood 4. Penfed casback 5. Chase british airways
