  1. Too bad they don't have their five star service anymore. You could complain that you did not receive the kind of service a customer deserves to the CEO. The current CEO is Richard K Davis. Last I knew, their email was firstname.lastname@usbank.com. YMMV if this is still valid.
  2. So let me get this straight - you want to nail a PI who was hired probably by the bank to find a car that you've stopped paying on because you're unemployed. Did it occur to you at any point in time before it got to this to contact the bank and let them know? Let me tell you a little story - I had a roommate who did this exact thing many years and one husband ago. He had a good paying job until he got involved with drugs and racked up charges on his Amex Charge card - Charge, not credit, the green one you had to pay off every month or else. He bought this nice little sports car and made payments on it. Until he snorted all his money away and ended up hanging out with a very bad crowd. He would be gone for days on end, shuffle back to the apartment when he needed to change his clothes or find something of his to pawn for drug money and be gone. This went on for months. We finally evicted him with the help of the landlord because he was a friend who didn't want to see us suffer this fool. We were getting calls daily, sometimes multiple times a day from Amex demanding payment from the roommate. But the real kicker was when I left for work one morning and I was cornered by a PI who started interrogating me. I managed to get back into my apartment and called the police. I had no idea who this guy was, why he was harassing me and I felt threatened. The TL;DR - turn in the car before someone gets hurt. Seriously.
  3. Is it me or did the cashier at ACE do a 180 on her attitude when you refused?
  4. I was curious about this myself as I have two Capital One cards currently and will be getting a third through their acquisition of HSBC. Interestingly enough, the card they're supposed to be changing my Discover to will be what they've called a Platinum Rewards Mastercard. I can't find anything about it anywhere on their site. I'm keeping all the info they've been sending me because I've been told one thing via their paperwork and then the terms suddenly change - a card I had was supposed to be one year 0% APR and they started charging me interest at the 6 month mark. I still had the paperwork from when I got the card and was able to get them to actually fix their mistake.
  5. Me, for utilities that are paid by my landlord. I write a reimbursement check for them. Checks to my doctor since they take forever to process credit cards, but cash checks faster (not sure why, other than they're too damned lazy at the billing office). My husband for the rent every month. I probably send out about 3-5 checks a month, while he sends one a month. Or a MICR printer. The MICR (magnetic ink character recognition) toner is different than regular toner in that usually has iron oxide in it and is read by those special machines you see in stores or at the bank. It's supposed to be able to verify that the check itself is real. If it were printed on regular ink, it would most likely be rejected. So whoever did it had the special printer and ink to do this. And they are not cheap.
  6. I will say this rslifkin - I have no problem with you. I fully understand why you're upset. You're as riled up as I was dealing with BOA when they were making it very clear they wanted to screw the husband and myself regarding our house. That being said, you have given new meaning to 'your hill to die on.' Only it's not a hill, it's friggin' mountain range. How bad off is the Honda?
  7. I'm just wondering if it's wrong to expect to see the landlord suing rslifkin on some show like Judge Judy or People's Court and let them go to town. Maybe I need to buy some popcorn. And now we need a popcorn eating smiley. Just sayin'.
  8. Calm your bad self down, have some pie and realize that the world will not end if you don't get credit right the very second you close on a house. I feel like I should add a link to Weird Al's 'First World Problems' here but that might be pushing it.
  9. I do believe this is a prime example of cutting your nose off to spite your face.
  10. Like everyone else has said in one form or another, it happens. It's not world ending, it's not earth shattering. Chase caught it. Hell, Chase denied a transaction for the Crunchyroll store recently when DH wanted to order me something and had to verify it was a legit purchase. Because it was considered an unusual purchase, which isn't at all surprising since we hardly ever buy anime stuff anymore. He'd rather they decline the purchase than find out someone charged $500 worth of anime stuff to the card.
  11. I completely forgot I posted this! (been sick) Current balance due on it is $9700, though I feel that for a 72 month loan (pay off is set for 2020), the $178/mo payment should be lower. But I'm probably not including the interest on it. KBB says trade in to a dealer is $6k. I put it at Very good because there's a small dent/scratch on the driver's side passenger door. I plan to get that fixed since the dealership I got it at gives me one free scratch/dent repair per year. Might as well use it on that. Otherwise the car runs well. It even got new tires recently. Private sale comes in at $7300. I did add GAP insurance because I don't trust anyone where I live. I totaled my 2001 Escort when someone decided to play roller derby on the freeway back in 2009 and I had to get my 2002 Altima. I loved that little car. I cried when it was hauled off to the junkyard.
  12. I have a 2005 Nissan Altima that I recent bought after my 2002 Altima decided electrical problems were the way to go (yay!). I'm currently with Wells Fargo Dealer Services. It was the only place that would finance me because of the BK (from 2009). I would love to refi it because I honestly think that 8.99% is a bit steep, but most places don't even let me get a foot in the door because of the age of the vehicle. My past BK doesn't even come up as a topic of conversation. Is there any place that would consider a refi on a car this old? I got it with extremely low mileage (51K).
  13. US Bank was a pain in the flowers for me. I opened an account with them years ago because I was moving and it was the only bank at the time that had branches in other states. We're talking 2002. When I finally got to my new residence, I brought my new drivers license and a copy of my lease for my apartment and they wouldn't update the address because my new address didn't match the one on my account. DUH! I'm trying to update! When I finally managed to talk to someone who could rub two brain cells together, they then wanted a notarized statement regarding my name because I asked to have my middle initial removed from the account. I've never used it, ever. I could go on and on, but let's just say I cashed in that 5 star promise more times than I can count. I was actually making money because of their ineptness. The final straw came when I had lost my debit card and requested another one. I go to use it and it's declined. I find out it's because they suspected fraud on my account and cancelled it right after they'd sent it out and no one bothered to tell me I could just go into a branch and get a temporary ATM card (ATM, not debit). I had enough and closed out my accounts after fighting with the branch manager to close it. It was ridiculous.
  14. We save ours up until there's enough to get gift cards for restaurants or AMC Movie Passes with the $10 gift card.
