I suppose it's possible that I froze 7-8 years ago when I started rebuilding, but I don't recall. Thanks for the reminder; I should check.

Interesting... My TU, per the credit score document provided to me in my list of documents, was 768. My rate for 3 years is 5.99%, and I paid a 1% origination fee. My OCD will not allow me to stop attempting to "Check your rate" with Sofi. I continue to get the message to check for typos. I've tried every combination of my first/middle/last name and also my apt number in the address field.

I received an offer from them as well. There's no place on their site for the offer code though, so I don't think it would matter for you. My experience: I could never get past entering my information; I never got offers. I continually get a message that there may be a typo in the information I've entered, i.e., address. I called and spoke with a very nice rep who told me that they do a soft on EX, and that something wasn't quite matching up if I never got to the offers page. She suggested I keep trying, and said they everything is done online, that you can't apply over the phone. I tried putting every possible variation (middle initial and middle name in the box with my first name and then my last name), however, it never worked. I ended up going with Lending Club and it was the easiest thing ever. I was approved at the lowest rate instantly, never had a hard pull, and funds were in my account within 3 days.

Congrats on the approval and on your progress! -
These qualifications are for entry level. Shouldn't there be a posting for supervisors as well? Although the the gap in pay range is huge, 37k to 121k, so maybe they'll just pull supervisors from the regular applicants. Sorry I had to post and go... I initially went here: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/jobs/location. If you scroll the the openings in the various regions, it shows what is open for all US citizens, current CFPB employees, vets, etc. I then went to USAjobs.gov to see full requirements. Hope that helps! I'll probably apply myself as well.

Requirements are posted on the USAJobs.gov site. https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/339392700

What "high expectations" are those? Am I frustrated about not having my APR lowered? Absolutely. Am I wondering "why the heck?" Positively. I was disappointed on the auto loan, yes, but I understood due to my previous income. This particular thread is asking fellow board members if I should stay with them. The only reason I joined was because they seemed to offer people with so/so credit a second chance. Not just a second chance, but a very generous second chance. They gave me a nice CL, and I am very appreciative of that. I now have high limit cards with lower APRs. That's why I asked for CBer's opinions on the matter. The problem is that just because a lender is easy they need to put out for everybody - or so people think. I'm not asking for the moon here, just an APR reduction on a card with over 12 months of perfect payment, a low balance for a person with a 723 Ex FICO. My vote would be to stay. I've opened accounts with a lot of the CB-popular banks and credit unions, NFCU included. Similar to your frustration with the APR, mine was with Target and the credit line that's been $1,000 for 5 years. Do I have higher limits? Absolutely, but I use it several times a week for the 5% off. Got my iPad there with a 5% discount. I'm 'over' the limit, and use it to my advantage. If after recon, NFCU won't lower your APR, I would just give it some more time. Hang in there.

I think I read someplace that you have to apply at the dealership. And I forgot to do that when I placed an order last month -
This is how I'm going to use my new $10,000 credit limit

+1. I did now know that. Maybe i should stay away from paying bills, but wont they see the payment three days later and realize I dont have money problems. no the cc company think you are using cash adv, to pay other cc or pay your bills. ^^ That is absolutely not true. I have paid every bill possible with a credit card for at least the last 5 years and never had any problems because of it. -
I love my Target card. I, too, like the 5% off. I even got 5% off an iPad there. I started at $200 about 5 years ago when I started rebuilding. I'm now at $1,000, where I've been for 2 or 3 years. I've never paid any interest, so the high APR doesn't matter to me.

No, couldn't he have waited a few years to do that!! So sorry about the accident, but glad no one was seriously hurt.
