Did you pay in full the $15K after you got your cashback/points or did you carry the balance?? The charges were just made in December and unfortunately, I didn't think I needed to pay the charges before the statement closing dates. All balances will be paid before the due date this month, of course. By the way, even with the $15K reporting, I was only at 20% of my available credit.

Sorry, OP! I just received notification that my AMEX has been closed too! All 3 CRs are 100% clean, but I do have some new balances due to the fact that we ran a large $15K purchase thru my cards to acquire some cashback/points. This company is unbelieveable!!!

Voluntary Repo of Auto how bad does it hurt ?

She is a stay at home mom , She's pregnant w/ her 4th child . (I noticed your name LOL) their main goal is to NOT charge more on their CC's at this point they are having too because they have to to get by . I personally think they should cut up the cards. That is just because i went for so many yrs w/ out them . If they are not there it seems you come up w/ other options instead of charging it. SO I thought w/ so many creative pepole on here someone might have a better idea LOL I think her best bet is gonna be the credit union , see what they can come up w/ ? I told her letting it go is a LAST resort , as far as I know she's not even late on it ( Besides afew weeks or so here and there ) OH and to answer your other question. I belive its in both of their names but im not sure. I know she was not working when they bought it so maybe not ? Thanks Mindy If it's in both of their names or her husband's name only - and he is working, I think there is a very high change that they will come after her for the balance owed on the loan after the car is sold at auction. The $10K she is upside down on the car will likely turn into 15K+ since the car probably won't sell for anywhere near what it's worth. Because of this, I think it would definitely be in their best interest to look at refinancing. The credit union sounds like a good start! Even if she is unable to obtain a lower rate, she may be able to spread the balance on the loan out into 48 or 60 months which should give her some relief. If she has good credit, the car is still working out for her family and is not having major mechanical problems, she really should try to hold onto it. -
My husband's approval was instant w/ limit.

By chance, is she is a stay at home mom? Is her name the only name on the loan or is her husband listed as well? If she doesn't have income of her own at this point and the auto was originally financed in her name only, it may not be AS bad. The car will go to auction and she will owe the difference between what she owes on the loan and what the car sell for. It will go to collections and appear on her credit reports, but if she is not working and is the only name on the loan, there is a chance that they will not sue. It would all depend on the amount and whether they thought they could get money from her or not. If she is working, they could get a judgment and garnish for the difference. -
We haven't had any problems with any of our purchases. It definitely appears to be going by transaction date rather than posting date. It's really nice that you can see the rewards accumulated so far, so if a 2% reward didn't credit like it should, you'd catch it right away. This card was a great choice for us!

It's not crazy high or anything... $26600 between the 4 personal plus $2500 on the Professional.

2 cards from same issuer, best way to allocate credit limit?
MommyTo6 replied to nikky's topic in Credit Forum
I've read the BOA 20% rule many times on this board... A few months ago, I left the increase box blank and they actually tripled my limit! I was shocked to say the least! I agree with all the advice posted here. Sounds great since you are not really using that secondary card. Wow! Congrats on that! Was it a fairly well aged account that hadn't had too many increases in the past, or any other issuers severely leading them as far as credit issued to you? Yes and Yes! The card was about 5 years old. I received one auto increase around the one year point and then was denied an increase when I asked about 6 months prior to this. At the time, my highest Citi limits were more than double (now they are more than triple) and my Chase limits were double as well. It's been more than 6 months... I'm wondering if I should ask again. -

Pick Credit Operations Department>> I have 4 personal credit cards (PPE, DPR MC, DPR AMEX, CR) and 1 Professional card. I have heard of people having more cards than I do. It actually seems that I may have hit the ceiling for allowable credit rather than hitting the maximum number of allowable cards since they actually were giving me the option of taking from a current card and giving it to another new card. BTW, I opted not to take their offer. I love my Citi PremierPass Elite and would not want the limit reduced.
