  1. I wonder how many people on the Jury have been harrassed by a JDB?
  2. Can I ask where you got that address from? I found another address as well as the Main St address Here is what I found: C.B. Accounts, Inc 1101 Main St Ste 300 Peoria, IL 61606-1928 C B Accounts Inc 124 SW Adams St # 215 Peoria, IL 61602-2321 I found a fax # 309/672-9487 I also found a possible email address which I will send you in a PM
  3. When I tried to use the above code I got this message "The promo code you have entered is not eligible for use with this order"
  4. Did you have them fill out a rental application when you rented the house? If so, did you ask them for source of income (ie where they are employed at) and SS#? if so then you can file for a garnishment (I have my attorney do that but this is a small town and he is ridiculously cheap) If you don't have their SS#. then you may have to turn to a collection agency. They will take 30-50% of what they collect but it is better than zero
  5. No hard pull, she reinstated my card and credit line on the spot
  6. I think I am still in shock My statement closed on the Chase card that they had cut from 6K down to $500, I had paid off the small balance left well before the due date and closed the account (with no attempt to keep me as a customer). I still had the other Chase card which I had used to track expenses on a recent trip, so I hopped online to check that the balance agreed with the receipts I had. What did I see but a $1.50 finance charge on the Chase card I had closed. So I called up Chase, not at all happy but instead of getting the usual CSR drones, I went straight to an "account representative", she was quite polite and took the $1.50 off as a courtesy, I don't recall how the conversation started but I had expressed(politely) my discontent with how I felt I was treated. So she offers to not only reinstate the card but to restore my CL BACK to the original $6,000 which she has done. The irony to me is if they hadn't charged me that $1.50 min finance charge I never would have called. I am still not happy with Chase and they didn't lower my interest rate but I am pleased to get my CL back. It also bothers me that when I called before, I was told repeatedly that there was no one else I could talk to, yet here I got someone obviously higher up the chain. Chase is just screwy

  8. This is an ex-WAMU. Amazing how short-sighted Chase is being, your story does make me feel better about my 6K card being cut down to 500. Same story Providion>WaMu>Chase Unfortunately it hurts me more than it does your DW, this is my oldest TL (Feb 99) and outside of my Jared's card (7600) was my largest CL (after Chase cut my other ex-Wamu card from 6500 to 3300) oops my mistake my Sears MC was raised this month to 6050 Oh the irony the same month Chase slashes my oldest card Sears raises my CL by 2000, Barclays raises my LL Bean by 500 and my Juny card by 1000 lose 6500 gain 3500 I think the part that was most irritating was talking to the CSR who tells me my CL was cut for non use, I reply non use tends to happen when you jack the interest rate to 26% jack interest > non usage > cut CL for non use
  9. My DW has a few lingering baddies from her previous marriage. She recently got a letter from Jefferson Capital Systems LLC regarding a charged off Bank First mastercard. I have already sent a limited C&D communication by mail only (which has been the only type of contact to date) This CA (or branch of the CA) is based in MN which is where she lived at the time this card went bad. DOFD is Sep 2003, charge off is March 2004. We reside in IL. By my reading MN has a 6 year SOL on credit card debt and IL is 5 years. The letter even states that this debt may be time barred and lists the chargeoff date as March 16 2004, so it would seem by either date (DOFD or chargeoff) the debt is time barred. My question is should I send a letter disputing the debt or simply send a letter stating that the debt is past the statute of limitations.
  10. You have to love Chase's catch-22 and logic first Chase raises the APR to 26.24% so you don't use or want to use the card THEN they cut your CL to next to zip, in my case from 6000 to 500 for NON USE! I have been expecting a CLD since my other Chase card was cut from 5500 to 3300 so I was expecting that it would likely be cut down into 3k range but I didn't expect this drastic of a slash. When I called, I got the speil about non-use, I did my best to be polite but I did make a few snarky comments. This card was originally a Providian that I opened in Feb of 1999. In all the years I have had the card I have never been late or had an overlimit and while my socre isn't as high as some on here I have been solidly in the 690-710 range for the last few years. The other card was originally a WaMu eBay Points card, so both have the WaMu taint that Chase seems bound & determined to flush out. What I am wondering is if I would be better off to try to apply for a new Chase card (such as Southwest Airlines card) Or since I already have 2 Chase cards (with the Wamu taint) will I just be turned down flat? I do feel bad for the poor CSR's who have to take the flak for management's decisions.
  11. Whats the matter George? Don't like it when you get called out for trying to HIJACK yet another thread? 76000+ posts? How many of those have contributed to the community or been helpful to a poster(or posters) looking for assistance/info? Scant few I would wager.
  12. Debt collectors can find you Social-media outlets have become a key tool for collection agencies trying to track down debtors, says Michelle Dunn, the CEO of the American Credit and Collections Association and the author of "Do's and Don'ts of Online Collections Techniques." "If they don't have a good phone number or the mail's being returned, a lot of them use Facebook to find out if (debtors) have a different address or their employment information," Dunn says. How many people are on Twitter? Many bill collectors who think they've found a debtor on a social-media site will keep an eye on that individual's online presence, Dunn says. "They don't necessarily have to post anything to them. They just watch what that person is posting," she says. Setting a social-media profile to allow anyone -- not just friends -- to look at postings can make your profile a particularly rich source of information, she says. "People post things about if they've gotten a new home or a new vehicle," Dunn says. "People just post such private things about their lives, and the whole world is watching." Privacy laws should preclude a collections agent from contacting and humiliating you on your social-media page, Dunn says. However, some collectors violate those legal and ethical boundaries and assume false identities as a means of getting information, she says http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Banki...ces.aspx?page=2
  13. She may have made a fatal flaw in her argument, most invoices I get in my business are net 30, so if she admits the repair was on 10/31/07 payment would not have been reasonably expected until 11/30/07 thus the 2 years would expire until 11/30/09. What WSD is trying to argue is that you(the lender) expected IMMEDIATE payment on the date of the repair. Another angle on the oral agreement front would be that payment would not be reasonably expected until the credit card was due which even if your CC statement cut on 11/01/07 wouldn't have been due before 11/13/07. I am not a lawyer but methinks WSD may have torpedoed her defense with submissions to the court
  14. My bank is a small regional bank which offers a product they call First Rate Checking which is a great product and it has easy requirements $100 to open, direct deposit and electronic statement if you meet those you get 2.30% interest unlimited bill pay (with a requirement of at least 2 per month) ATM fees waived up to $12.50/month no min balance required
  15. New study says loan servicers lack financial incentive to modify mortgages. http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Smart...;_blg=1,1328674 interesting article
