I just got a Capital One card. When do they start reporting???
-
Did you call them? Did they give you a reason?
-
I lived in AZ for several years. AZFCU ALWAYS treated me good. Im not in chexsystems and havent ever been so I dont know the ins and outs of it. But AZFCU was always very good.

Well, I called a few minutes ago. The automated system said my application was still processing. I opted to speak with a rep. The "account manager" said the application had been approved but he had no information on the credit line yet but to call back tomorrow afternoon and see if they have more information at that time. I dont mean to sound negative... but I wont believe I am approved until I have the card in my hands and activated!

I BK7'd two card with them. Both accounts have come off my credit reports. I have two other cards with no balance's on them but not from capitalone. I just applied and got a 7-10 day message... so I am assuming I will probably get a decline letter. Has anyone done a recon with them and been approved after that letter???

They aren't though. The credit card companies have no clue what you have in your accounts. I think you need to study some definitions here a bit. Utilization would be the first. That has NOTHING to do with how much you have in the bank. It is the percent of usage on the card versus the credit limit on the card. Listen or dont listen, either way is fine. Its your future. You are barely 18 years old. The rest of us have been there and made some mistakes. It would be wise to listen and learn a bit from us.

Although you have a ''perfect payment history", its only 8 months old. And what is your Opinon of a perfect history? It may differs from Bank of America's view of perfect. Perfect to me, as a lending executive would be Pay in Full each month. Im sure, your request required a credit pull, and you bearly turning 18, 8 months ago, is a very very thin credit history. Ive read of few of your posts in the past, and remember you stating you lying about your age to get several cards, with banks such as chase. I would be very careful about that. And 50% utilization over the lifetime of your account is BAD. less than 30% is is bearly acceptable and less than 20% is good. your at 50% which is no good. I mean, emergencies happen and once in a while, there is a short term need to run up our cards or even max them out, but in return , we have to pay them down within a month or two. I know you expected a response to say that Bank of America was wrong, but in my opinon, I believe bofa made a wise decision. Continue to pay the bills on time, keep ALL your accounts current and with a low util and make sure those Inquires are slim to none and within time, they will grow with you.. Remember , credit is earned, not given freely. By any chance, are you a BOFA employee? First, you would not last long as a lending executive due to your rudeness. And you probably meant well. However, some people just can not help themselves but being what they really are. Second, i need not go any further. Rude? How was he rude? Being upfront and direct is rude? Some of you guys have some thin skin. I would have rather had someone be direct with me at 18 instead of patting me on the hnd and increasing credit limits. He is at 50% util. on his cards and in college. Bad mix. I agree with VP 100% in his thinking, and if more people like him were in the lending industry, there would be far less bankruptcy and college kids in debt up to their ears. That is the stupidest thing to give a college kid a credit card and keep increasing the limit and he increases his debt. 50% means nothing without knowing my limit. 50% on my $250 credit union card is nothing and is no indicator of being in trouble or debt. If you owe money, be it $1 or $1000, you are in debt. The sooner you learn that the better.

I still have yet to figure out how to dispute online. If someone would be so kind as to PM me, I would be ever so grateful!

For everyone who is so worried... My sister filed March 14th. Got her stimulus payment on Monday. The website says the same error everyone else is getting. Looks like their site is messed up. Sit back, relax, take a deep breath. Your payments will most likely go into your accounts tonight.

No. And I would be embarrassed to pull the "dollar" out in Europe, it's worth CRAP. Try pulling that dollar out in the UK. $1000 gets you just over 500 pounds. And in London, that doesnt go far at all! So will credit cards give me a better exchange rate? NO NO NO NO! Dont even THINK about it. The rate would be worse, much worse. You will get the exchang rate, plus additional fees. Use cash in Europe. Im European, trust me. The USD against the Euro is horrible right now.

Sure, I would be glad to answer your questions.

I have posted numerous questions and been thankful to have many answers! I guess Ill give a brief intro. I am a former airline pilot. I didnt leave because I wanted to, I left because the company couldnt pay us anymore, so we got fired, or furloughed as they like to call it. A week after, my wife decided she didnt want to be married anymore. But, before leaving, she let me know that over a period of 5 years, she had accumulated $51k in CC debt for me. YAY for me! She of course paid $0 when walking out. And why should she? They were all in my name. The judge said the bills got split, she said adios and left the country and went home. So, chapter 7 is my best option I guess. How did this happen without me knowing? I TRUSTED HER! I let her pay the bills and didnt ask questions. BIG MISTAKE! I am not going back to airline flying, even though I love flying. It will alway have a place in my heart and in my life, but I need stability. I am working toward medical school right now. Im only 29. I got my first job flying at 23, right out of college and after a year of flying around with people trying to kill me, or being a flight instructor as some may know it. And stuck with that company for 6 years through some hard times. Its ok though, I was a captain on an Embraer ERJ-190 for 2 years, and an ERJ-145 captain for a year before that. I lived my dream I guess, so now I can live my dream as a doctor... and retire as one god willing. I dont think we will see a day when there are no sick people! As I wait for my 341 meeting, I look back and try to figure out what I should have done differently so that I am NEVER in the situation again. And I know what I should and should not do in the future. This has been a hard knock for me. My parents jumped down my throat about this. They said had I come to them and told them I was in trouble, they would have paid it all off for me. Pride is a ^#*@$! I was ashamed to tell them. But, I know I am not alone in the debt pool. Life will go on. Im flying right now for a small company. I wont give many details, because Im sure I would get fired. The money sucks, its all night time scheduled air freight. BORING. Single pilot flying in a Fairchild Metroliner. It is embarrasing for me to tell my friends I am flying it, but, it is paying the bills right now and I am under no contract... but no union protection. (As if it helped before!!) Its like going from driving a sports car to a beat up pickup truck. And there are no girls in the airport at 2 or 3am smiling and saying hi when I walk by. LOL Oh well.. only 7 more months until I am back in school full time! I CANT WAIT! Besides, flying alone at night gives me lots of time to think and plan! Anyway, thanks for answering questions when I have asked. I hope maybe I can answer some for others! And when I have MD after my name, I will buy a plane!
