  1. Back in 2006 a friend of mine had a checking account with BOA. Evidently, a so called friend, used her debit card to rent a car, and never returned the car to the original rental office. I forget how much later, but the car was eventually found in SoCal, and the rental company stuck her with over 2K for the rental. At the time, she had a few hundred dollars in the account, then one day it showed 2K in the red. She had no way of paying that off, and started using check cashing places to cash her payroll checks. Recently, I told her to go to the US Bank locally, I had a friend who was going thru a divorce, get an account no problem, even though he was in CS. She applied, and got denied, because CS had her reported for fraud. The question is this, after all these years, how can she dispute it? Or does she just wait until it falls off the report? TIA
  2. For the time being, I'd work hard on cleaning up your reports and saving for a larger down payment, 3%-5% are what closing costs will probably be. My good friend has been paying 3400.00 a month on a ARM that went up to close to 6000.00, he has made over 150 K in payments...and he is about to miss his first payment in almost 3 years. His bank wont work with him, because he hasnt missed a payment yet, so basically, no relief until he starts ruining his credit. I feel your pain, my rent is 2250 for a two bedroom one bath in Alameda, right now, I am more focused on investing on commodities...and if everything pans out, I should have enough for a 20% down by next year. You can get a brand new home in Sacramento for under 275,000, basically purchasing the home for the cost to build it...aint that a weird concept??? Use the extra money and buy two Hondas, and commute.....I have a hard time paying 400,000 for a boarded up crack house in Richmond...ya know what I mean?
  3. My business is a little over two years old, I only filled out the top section, crossed out the PG and AEC section, signed and dated ,title...owner, faxed it in. By far the shortest app I've ever filled out.
  4. I totally forgot about faxing the app in a few weeks ago. I crossed out the PG section, took about 2 minutes to fill in the business essentials. Got this generic envelope in the mail, trying to figure out what card it was, couldn't believe my eyes to see the 10K limit with no PG. Unbelieveable....
  5. I own and operate a charter fishing business out of the San Francisco Bay Area, can accomadate up to 33 passengers for company charters and open load trips. We fish mainly salmon, rockfish and lingcod, striped bass, halibut, albacore, dungeness crab and humboldt squid. My website is www.salmonqueen.com
  6. that I was approved for the card based soley on my personal credit score, and not my business. The CSR told me that if the business isn't at least 3 years old, they won't even look at the business credit history. He told me that they first look at age of business, and if its 3 years or more, then they look at the business credit. If it's less than 3 years, then a PG is needed to approve, since they won't look at the credit history of a business that's less than 3 years old. He did tell me that I can get CLI 's after a couple of months of payment history....I am shocked by the CSR's statement, because I know they did look at my business credit because when I applied, the CSR said "Oh good, you have a Paydex" I guess there are a lot of misinformed reps manning the phones, so it really is a crapshoot when you apply. One thing is for certain, if your business hasn't been reporting to DnB for 3 or more years, you are going to be asked to PG the app. They pulled equifax in Ca, myFico is 719, my credit line is 12,000.
  7. I've purchased a laptop and plasma from Dell and paid off in two months, they report the balance on Experian
  8. I have it, it's a net 30 card, PIF each month
  9. I was wondering the same thing. Maybe because I did the 2nd app within minutes of the first. Who knows. I walked into my local HD and decided to apply for the HDMC. I was given a letter with an reference number and this number...1800 846 2147....because I'm offshore and lose my cell service i talked to a couple of different people. They told me that I had applied within 90 days, so I told them that I had tried to apply online but got a browser error, tried again and got another browser error, before i quit trying. After I told them that, they said well lets see if we can work around this. They were all very professional, giving me the feeling that they really wanted to help me get this approved. Again they looked at DnB, saw that I had a business for only 2 years, looked at Experian and saw 2 tl's and a 1 year old file, asked me to PG, which I already did at the store. They contacted the store, and had them fax over my application..PG, the store called me to make sure I was really requesting them to fax it. After contacting me again to verify some info, address, car loan payment, etc....they congratulated me and told me my CL will be 12,000 which is my highest to date. I don't mind giving a PG, it seems to enable me to receive higher CL's.
  10. You should've just let it go. I got the Code 25 on every Citi application I made. I called in about the first one (Staples), and the rep gave me some nonsense. But eventually every single card showed up even HDMC, without PG. My business was 1.3 years old at the time. All the so call 'requirements' seem to be more or less guidelines. It still doesn't matter much for me. I didn't PG HDMC, but I'm a sole-proprietor so its guaranteed anyway. lol All my other accounts are without a PG, I guess the reason why I did the PG, was because I got denied a few months ago before I had the Paydex, and since they asked for the PG even with my paydex, and I knew I would be approved with it, I decided to go for it hoping for a higher credit limit. Since they gave me the 10000 limit, I'm satisfied with the results, it is my highest TL, and once my other revolving accounts report, and I see the double digits reporting on both DnB and Ex, I should have a strong enough file to get a 20000 CL with Citi, or I hope so. I usually go to the store, buy something around 100, then in a couple of days I go online and pay it off, I actually have two cards, with negative balances, because I paid them online, and my wife sent in a check. I am now hoping that my history will raise my scores so that when I do apply for a CC I will get a decent CL.
  11. I have an Experian file, 2 reporting with a 81 rating....now isn't it better to have the 10000 TL, instead of a 2000 tradeline? To date my highest TL is the HD I just got. Maybe I'll just let more of my TL's to report then I will get a higher CL when I apply. I've been ordering online then paying the balance as soon as the item is delivered. I need to get a decent rewards card next, so I will wait until I have double digits reporting to DnB
  12. Been trying to get HD for the longest time, decided to wait for paydex, finally got it this weekend, so today I try to get it online. No go, get code 25, so I call in and the CSR tells me that I need to have my DnB for 2 or more years, not just business, tells me <10 employees, that I need to PG, so reluctantly I agree, asked for 10000, why not right? Got it! Instead of copying the PG form and faxing it in, I decided to go to the store and submit it in person. I'm wondering if this policy holds true for the HDMC or the Citi bank cards, since those are my next cards I'm applying for. Anyone recently get approved without a PG?
  13. Hey Dire....To tell ya the truth, if I didn't look at my EQ score, I wouldn't have even known I had the collection on my record, since it's not on EX or TU
  14. It's only on my Equifax, and it shows as owing 939.00, it's my only collection and it makes my EQ score 20 points lower than TU and EX
  15. 3 years ago I had a car get towed away for an alleged expired registration. I had paid the registration two days before the car got towed, and according to the police, newly paid registrations don't show up on the computer for three days. I believe they thought I had gotten the current years sticker and just put it on the license plate, because when they checked the plate, it came back as expired registration. Because of this, the police called the tow company, and had my car towed. This car was a spare car, that rarely got used, it was more a pain in the rear, because I had a boat taking up the driveway, so this car had to get moved for street sweeping, etc. Anyway, the next morning, I woke up to find the car missing, so I contacted the police department. I went to the station, after going to the yard to retrieve my personal effects...the registration and insurance card in the glove box. I showed the desk sergeant and he verified the current registration at the time of the tow. Because of this, they waived the 75.00 fee for the release form. I took the form to the tow yard, showing my registration, and the release form.....I told them that if they checked the glove box when they slim jimed the car open, they would have found the current registration, and could have avoided this tow. He basically told me that it wasnt his problem, that I owed 500.00 to get the car back. I told him, to KMA, here's the pink slip......I never received a letter from the tow company about this debt. I know they got it re registered, because it is no longer in my name. This tow company has placed the debt to collections, and I would love to get it removed, without paying it, if I do pay it, would I get my car back? To me, this debt is BS, since the tow company and the police shouldn't have towed the car in the first place. I have some history with this tow yard, they towed my boat I had parked in front of my house one day, and charged me 900+ to get it back, added all these fees because it was a boat.
