We went to hubby's 10th. My class did not have a 10th. My 20th is coming in a couple weeks and we are gonna go. Just for fun. Lets see if folks are still bitchy (was an all-girls school LOL) or if they have really grown up. HA.

I WISH I could find a hotel for $65/night. Trying to go see my grandmother, in a small (albeit military) town, even the skanky places are asking $99 and up. $65 is a steal!!

got all 3 books for my kindle via book sharing group. read em all. i call them "beach reads" similar to stuff by Jackie Collins lol. you don't have to put your head into them very much. a nice distraction. truthfully, i would not have read them though if i had not come across them for free lol.

Yes, I still use AOL. for email. lol. haven't used it as my ISP for almost...what...10 years now? i have had the same email addy for 16 years and its hard to change (was give to me by hubby hahaha). used for family, friends, important stuff (sports coaches, etc). i have crap email for junk, since every site in the world wants you to register and provide an email addy!

the only delay I have experienced is in email coming from my son's baseball coach. Otherwise, everything comes in just about immediately.

my son (13) got a concussion in August during a football scrimmage. He was fine right after but the next day started showing symptoms. Took him to the doc, who referred him to the concussion clinic at the hospital. No CT scans or anything off the top, but the clinic nurse did do a few other tests. But did start off with no TV, video games, etc for a few days. Let brain rest. Schoolwork was ok, but in spurts...be sure to rest. Then gradually work in a little TV...etc etc. NO physical activity for a week. Walking to/from the bus stop and in school was the extent of what he could do. Was also told to have him take fish oil supplements. 2x a day, morning and evening. Also, was told to have him add extra protein to his diet...protein bars, shakes or the like. After a week and a half, his headaches went away and he was feeling fairly normal again and he could start doing more (started on treadmill and worked up to PE class, gradually). The clinic repeated tests...a cool thing that checked his eyes via a mask and computer program, some balancing tests, simple "follow this pencil" eye tests, etc. It took 3 1/2 weeks for him to get clearance to be completely physical again, to go back to normal activity. He did suffer from ringing in the ears for about 6 months afterwards, which at times was so awful it made him nauseous. But it went away over time (i had him take a supplement to help with that too) and he has not had that issue in a couple months now. Just saying...it takes time to recover, especially from a concussion. Maybe the supplements and extra protein would help? doc/nurse said they promote healing of the brain. When my daughter fell at basketball (ok, she did not fall, she got shoved into the floor!) and hit her head, no concussion but I immediately started her on that protocol for a few days just to be sure. That will be our go-to treatment for any hit to the head from now on, concussion or not.

we have the B70. Hubby is a coffee drinker, but was the only one. He felt that he was wasting pots of coffee, and did not particularly like reheating old coffee so as not to waste. So the single cup thing is good. Then my kids discovered the hot chocolate...and cafe mocha (which i got for ME to try, and liked it)...and chai latte (which again, was for ME but...yeah...lol)...and yeah, now they use it too. I can make a quick cup of iced tea as well, so we are actually getting more use out of it than I had anticipated. Got it at Costco and it came with a filter so you can use other ground coffee that may not come in Kcups plus it came with several boxes of Kcups. Better deal than anywhere else out there. My brother would like one...maybe I will have to get him one someday lol.

I app'd and was approved at the beginning of December for $800. Did some Christmas shopping and got a few other little things over the first couple months. At mid-March when I went to pay the bill, I noticed an auto CLI to $1k (got an email like 2 weeks later saying "congrats, you've got an increase.). I am not complaining!

I hate flying. I do it out of necessity (gotta go visit the inlaws every so often), and a couple times for fun (just got back from Vegas) but I hate it. I have been known to be in full-blown panic mode for the entire flight. Every bump, movement, noise, smell...I tend to get worked up over. ANd when traveling while the kids were young, I could not "medicate." Now that they are older, I can take Benadryl and knock myself out and leave the kids to dad or to their own vices lol (the ones at home now are 14, 13 and almost 9 so the teens are fine on their own with mp3 players/psp/ds, etc.) I was never afraid to fly until a plane crashed close to home. From then on, it has terrified me.

Have you ever been offered weird flight configurations

when I was looking at trips to Vegas, a lot of them wanted us to go from Dulles to JFK then out to Vegas. Or Dulles to San Fran then back to Vegas. One even had us going from Dulles to Providence to JFK then to Vegas. Um...WTH?? lol. We ended up with none of those flights, thankfully. Trying to get my mom here from Pittsburgh, I kept seeing flights that would take her to Boston. Again, wth?? As it is she has to go from Pittsburgh to JFK then here to Dulles. I am not sure why it is so hard to get a direct flight between 2 fairly big cities/airports. -
I am currently doing the Couch to 5k thing. On a treadmill at the gym. This is the week where it wants me to run that 20 minutes straight on the 3rd day of the workout. Yeah right HAHA. I said that though about the running for 5 minutes straight last week LOL. But I did it. Its hard. No doubt about it. And I know I can tailor it to my needs...if I need to repeat last week again this week, so be it. I am only on MY schedule. I got farther than I did the last time I tried to do this! this is what I am following...or trying to follow, and tinkering with when I need to: http://www.c25k.com/c25k_treadmill.html

awesome! good luck! -
Filed on 2/7. Accepted immediately, and refund was supposed to be DD on 2/15. Ran into this thread, so I checked IRS website, it said "BY Feb 28." not ON, but BY. Whatever. FF to this morning, when I got bank email saying it was DD. SO I guess it was BY the 28th but still, NO idea what the holdup was, as we have a very simple return. No matter. Now time to plan our anniversary trip to Vegas LOL.

my hubby had his out when he was 28. the only "complication" he has was he began to run a fever that night (outpatient procedure...in at 7am, home by dinnertime.) otherwise, he had a smooth recovery. He also had his uvula removed...his throat looks so weird LOL. My daughter had hers out last year (she was 19 at the time) and she also had a fairly smooth recovery. but it did take her about the full 2 weeks to feel 100% normal again. not that she did not feel good, just some lingering pain. she was back to work 10 or 11 days later tho. pain, nothing tylenol or the like did not fix fairly well. and while she was recovering, she hung out with friends and went out and about too. just had to watch what she ate for a few days lol.

between hubby's stories about dropping off our 8 y/o in the AM and what I see picking up kids after school (picking up for an after school program...some schools have a daycare only lane, some schools make us wait in the parent line, some schools make us line up behind the buses...so we see it from all perspectives), the way parents drive around the schools appalls me. Between speeding in the school zones, going in the out way when they don't want to wait in the car line like everyone else, speeding in the lots, not heeding the "no left turn between 2:30 and 3:00pm" signs. Its NUTS! I do NOT understand why folks think the rules do not apply to them!
