Anyone want $1000?

Today is the day. I am sad.

Penfed denied me with an 800 FICO and less than 5% utilization. I have since given up. That was my 3rd and final denial from them. lol

Also IIRC anything over $25K on Amex is a hard with docs... For some reason I'm thinking that is why I didn't ask for more than $25K on my line.

My husband got a mortgage with about 50% util on his card. They didn't seem to mind as long as your dti is in line and you can document EVERY bit of your income. Our situation was a bit stickier as he is partially self employed which accounts for more than 50% of his income.

I just made a large purchase on my HD card. We are remodeling our kitchen! Cabinets went on the HD card to the tune of 9K. Our CL was $16.5K now our limit is $22K. I should add I very rarely use the home depot card and if I do it was to buy something and then PIF immediately.

What Stclurker said would be my suggestion too. My MIL is not in a good place. My DH and I have been bailing her out for over a year. The time had come for us to stop. She just lost her health insurance, and with heart disease, diabetes, and depression, not a good place to be. I was able to get MOST of her meds covered by patient assistance programs, but there were a few pricey ones I was not able to get that done. Her electric bill is also 2 months behind now, something we used to pay for her. We went to the town assistance office and they were able to cover the past due balance on the electric bill as well as 3 months of the non covered prescription medications. A huge load off her mind. If you feel guilty about taking assistance, you can volunteer your time back to the community! It's a win win. Good luck!

If you want to combine them, I would send them a secure message through their web portal. It should not be a hard pull. GL

Who has actually used NFCU for a mortgage?

Well today they asked for another item. The HUD disclosure of the investment property we sold in December... Hopefully this is the last thing. Good thing I don't have a buyer waiting on me. -

DH and I are going through a refi with them. Having experience dealing with mortgage apps before, I tried to have all my ducks in a row first. I had 2 years of tax returns, all paystubs, w-2, 1099, etc ready to go. That was well over 100 pages of documents. DH also has self employment income so that is a PITA. The only additional thing they asked for was a YTD P&L for the business which I made quickly. We are locked in at 3% with .875 in points IIRC. Just in the nick of time as rates are going up! Our contact at Navy said the rates today are about 5%, The only thing I have disliked in the whole process with Navy is that it seems difficult to get in touch with them. Their customer service is always friendly, but not always prompt in returning calls, even to my attorney. Other than that, the rate, timeline, etc, all fine. We did the application on 5/23 and it will close the beginning of the week due to the holiday. It probably could have been done sooner, but had to coordinate a time with the appraiser that worked for both of us. -
applied for usaa cc - how long to get decision?

You could call them or send them a secure message. If it were me I would call. -
I wish I knew. I just got the survey invite yesterday. Who knows how long if/when they implement this.

I emailed Cap One for my husband. He currently has a $20K Venture card (Business version). We are doing a lot of work around here this year and I would like to put it on that card. He was asked the usual questions, and his limit is now $30K. No hard pull or income verification. ETA: We PIF this account and have charged over $70K in 2012.

Wish I could figure out how to post the screen shot I took. I will just type it out. I received an email regarding a survey Amex wanted me to take. Here is the interesting part of the survey... The American Express "Co-Signed" feature is a way for an individual to get an American Express Card, even if they don't have the credit history to qualify for one on their own, by having a cosigner on the account. An existing American Express Cardholder (co-signer) can guarantee an account for another person (co-signee). Eligibility for this feature will be determined through a credit verification process of the co-signer. Both parties will then be financially liable for the account. If the co-signee demonstrates consistent on time payments, he or she will be graduated to an independent account, at which time the co-signer will no longer be held financially responsible for the account. Features Include: Co-signee receives his or her own credit card The account is reported to the credit bureaus allowing the co-signee to build a credit history Protects co-signee privacy by only giving permission to view transaction level data Only account balance and due date will be visible to Co-Signer. Co-Signer will receive alerts before delinquencies are reported to the credit bureau so they can take action before their own credit is affected. Co-signer can place a cap on the available credit limit (limit the maximum amount they wish to guarantee). Thought it was interesting... Almost like a BW AU program. haha

I sent a secured message on the site and got both of my cc APR reduced to the minimum. As far as the NavChek APR yeah, it is too much. Now, if I need to get cash, I just get a cash advance on my Navy CC. I don't carry balances and PIF before the end of the month. Just wish my husbands clients paid on time sometimes.

I was able to do that but it was a few years ago. I did it through the regular customer service number.
