  1. Thank you! Yes, I knew it wasn't a v/mc - it still reports though, right? I would assume it would just like my Target and Macy's. I got one yesterday too from Shell but we don't have too many of them around here so I think I like the Sunoco better. If it's TU then that's cool - I don't want any on EX. I was just looking for more of another TL.....it doesn't have to be a v/mc, I won't use it very much other than to put gas in a few times a month.
  2. I just got a preapproval from Citi for a new Sunoco Rewards card. It's tempting because even though it's now a Visa/MC I can still get quite a bit of use out of it and besides, I could really use it for my util. I'm not looking for a "new" card at this point....I've made it through ok with Chase, Amex and Juni but I need to pay those down. Remind me again how I can tell if it's actually a preapproval? If I can get past a hard pull, then I'll definitely go for it. Oh, it does say preapproval, I have a # and it does have the "prescreened opt-out" notice on it. Thanks!
  3. I think I'm a little dusty :-). We did so good cleaning up our CR and one's back! I have been so busy that I haven't been able to hang out here as much and I think I may have just screwed up. We've been getting calls from Enhanced Recovery Corp. almost every day for the last week regarding an old Sprint acct. that I have successfully disputed and it was removed from DH's CR. They were unable to validate. I got sick of these calls so I called them to tell them to stop calling our number, this was previously disputed and wasn't able to be validated that they were not to be collecting on it. I told her to send something via mail and I would look at it. She threatened to put it back on his report....it's from 9/06. She played stupid and pretended she didn't know what validation was :-). But then again, maybe she doesn't. I felt like I was being baited and I did my best to just keep saying over and over....send something and stop calling. The only other thing I said was that we already disputed this, it wasn't validated and she can't collect...oh, and that we didn't know anything about the debt. Can you freshen me up a bit? I guess when she sends it, I just send a DV w/C&D? Thanks so much!
  4. Oops - his post too soon :-) Best of luck to you getting that converted though! I did it all through the secure email on the website and it was pretty painless...
  5. Haha hjm - believe me, it's the least they could do. This is my lowest limit card, my CR has only gotten better (much better) in my repair journey and they REFUSE to CLI my card. My only baddie is a 4 yr old CO. At this point I don't have any really large credit lines either and I really don't want to give up the age so I keep it around....especially in this credit environment I guess I'll take what I can get at this point :-).
  6. I actually forgot to post back and let everyone know that I was able to convert my Delta card to Blue Cash! At first they tried to get me to convert to the Delta no AF card but I just explained that after looking at the rewards program, I felt that the Blue Cash card better suited my needs (I really don't travel) and they responded with a yes! I did happen that my statement with my AF on it cut at the exact time I was corresponding with them so I did get charged but after inquiring about it (all done via email) they said it would be removed next billing cycle. Thanks so much to everyone who helped out!
  7. So I just got the notice with this statement that my $150 fee would be added to my next statement cutting 2/3. Honestly, Amex has done nothing for me and if I can get out of paying it, I will. Yes, I do have a balance at the moment, more than usual for me so paying it all off this month isn't gonna happen . But typically I either don't have a balance or it's less than 20%. I started with a 1000 limit and that's where I still am. It's my lowest, they won't increase it. I've asked for a CLI with a balance, without one, etc. and it doesn't matter - they give me generic reasons why but my CR has only gotten better since I've had the card so it's nothing "new" that they're seeing on it I can tell you that. So I need some advice....try for a CLI, try to convert to Blue or just suck it up and pay the stupid fee? I guess in the long run (at least for now) I can't afford to lose a tradeline. Not yet. We just lost a 6500 sears card tradeline for non-usage and that hurt. Thanks!
  8. Yep, annoying for sure! This past time it's been more than 20 days because they expected us to hand in "all" x-mas expenses at one time - meaning decorations and party at once. So the tree, etc. was bought in the beginning of Dec. and we didn't actually have the party until Jan. 3 so he just handed in the expense report for that. We've been trying very hard to not use any credit other than here and there just to show usage but that means our payments aren't as big as I'd like. The balances are going down obviously but I guess not as quick as us or them would like I guess I will just have to figure out a way to buckle down and save a bit extra so that I can make them happy.
  9. drkaje - yep, unfortunately they do not/will not issue business cards. He works for a medical company that has approx 800 employees across several states and he is the managing physical therapist for one of the clinics. He is required to use his own card for any staff meeting lunches, doctor office lunches he does for marketing and since this was the first year for his clinic to be open (not the company, just his clinic) we had to front the bill for all the x-mas decorations and the employee dinner then wait for expense checks. trdt44 - yep, you are correct - it is/was Citi for Sears. I was mixing up two past topics here about certain companies that were closing accounts in this environment and I remember Sears being one of them and we were hit for non-usage right before we were gonna use it GEMB being the other and we got hit with that one too. toopoor - thanks for the advice . Util is not horrible but it's definitely worse since the closure of the 6500 credit line that we had with Sears that had a 0 balance. That really helped us. Yeah, he does have balances which we are working on and everything that has a balance is less than 50% with some being zero and and overall of about 30%.
  10. DH got hit with 2 GEMB accounts - one was closed (Sears) for non-usage which lost us a 6500 credit line and he also got hit with a CLD for ding-a-ling's from 1500 to 300 with a $109 balance (I'll pay this week). Nothing is or has been late in 3 years so I'm guessing it's just GEMB stuff that I've been reading about on here. This morning I logged onto his Citi Sunoco account to make a payment (I was waiting on an expense check from his work to pay for his office's x-mas party) and realized that they CLD him 600 from 2000 to 1420. Now at the time we didn't have a payment due, I had just made a decent payment this month which left us with a 600 balance. He then charged 369 for his office dinner and as soon as his expense check came in I applied that to his balance also. He has nothing else late and overall his util is under 30%. Well, at least it was until the GEMB crap - I haven't had time to figure it out since that happened. I can't imagine why they did that, could it be because of the other accounts that were AA? Did I understand it correctly that Chase does not do that? I don't want to have to worry about his chase account too. Nothing of mine has been touched which is strange.
  11. Ugh - he's gonna kill me. We've worked so hard to get things in order since we had some financial problems 3 yrs ago with our son being sick but his student loans were never late. Nothing has been late since then and this was just a totally stupid mistake! I am so mad/upset/sick to my stomach.
  12. I am so panicked right now! I sat down to pay the bills this morning and I always pay my DH's Sallie Mae loan every other payday. when I opened up the payment book I noticed that it still had November's payment stub still in it!!! I'm not sure where along the line I overlooked it because it's such a habit for me...but I did and now I'm not sure what to do. It was a totally honest mistake. If I mail it today, the city is fairly local so it would be there by Monday but yep, I'm technically 30 days late. How are they with reporting to the CR? And what are my options at this point? Do I wait and see what they report before I worry with a goodwill letter or should I go ahead and send one now? He's been paying this loan for 10 yrs (masters degree) and has never been late. I find it odd that we never got a phone call or letter or anything about it being late but anyways.... Help?? Thank you :-)
  13. thanks Trevor. That's the first that's happened and I didn't want to overthink it
  14. I received a credit alert for the hard inquiry I took on TU from First USA/Chase when I received my CLI on 7/31 (alert was received on 8/1). Just now I recieved another alert for an inquiry from First USA/Chase on 8/7 but there is no inquiry showing. It does say it's also TU again. Should I worry that they've pulled another hard or just shrug it off as a fluke alert? Thanks!
  15. Thanks everyone and mpc you've got a very good point Sigh, I wish I could hang out and catch up on the boards but my PT job is calling. These darned kids need to go back to school so I have some free time during the day again to read CB
