  1. It's with Toyota if that makes a difference.
  2. We bought a new car, we were supposed to get a friends and family discount of 1100. It wasn't applied. When signing the papers we asked about it, cause it wasn't on the papers. The guy said it was already applied in the price. Getting home and looking at the numbers, no it wasn't applied. Is there anything we can do about it now. any options? It has been less then 24 hours since we've had it.
  3. If the original creditor is not bound by the FDCPA. Then what violations are for an Attorney collector who sent a, you owe this and pay up now, letter. I first got a letter from a collection company for the original creditor, I disputed it, within the 30 day window. I received a letter saying they will cease collections till they get/send proof. They never did. Now I get the letter from an Attorney to pay up. There is no 30 day to dispute and there is no mini Maranda. What violations is there for original creditor?
  4. In their second letter, says disputed was not sent in a "timely matter". So they are basically saying that I lost my rights to the 30 day rule. That's why I'm trying to find where it is in writing that you have 30+5 days.
  5. Is it written somewhere that you have the 30 days to dispute a debt collection letter, plus the 5 days for mail delivery? Everything I have found just says 30 days, nothing with the 5 days for delivery. I mailed it on the 30th day, and they (JDB) received it on the 3 day in the delivery period. They are claiming I didn't dispute in a timely matter, and my dispute is invalid and using the you didn't disputed debt so we consider it a valid debt. I need the 30+5. So I can print it out and mail it to them.
  6. I called a tax attorney in OK. They said I would have to call a CPA. Called three so far, 2 didn't know what the sol is. And one said she "thinks" it's 10 years. Pulled out the return. Both fed and state show I got a refund. I have never, been contacted for this, till I got this letter. Even if it is a 10 year sol. I think showing up at 9 years is unreasonable. Who has any banking records from 9 years ago to show a refund was deposited? Or if they claim something wrong with return, why was I never contacted if I need any records to prove anything.
  7. It's for Oklahoma state taxes, and we live in Indiana now.
  8. What is the sol for state taxes? This is what I am finding. IRS recommends you keep your tax records for 6 years. If a problem with your return and end up getting a refund, you only have 3 years to claim it. And if you didn't pay up state and fed have 10 years to collect? Is the ten years correct or is it lesser years, because we just got a collection letter (from a collection agency, not the state) that we owe taxes from 9 years ago.
  9. Everything that I have found--The mortgage relief act. was not extended and ended Jan 1 2014.
  10. That is what I figured. The owner does not want to pay the taxes, that is why they took it off the market. The difference is more than 75,000. The house is not worth what they were asking for, the only reason why the selling price was so high was to cover all the loans they took out on the house.
  11. There is a house that we really want. It has been empty close to 2 years now. It was listed as a short sale. At the time the realtor said the owner was served foreclosure papers. Owner took it off the market, cause the law changed to that they would have to pay taxes on the difference of the short sale. The owners realtor no longer has any dealings with the house. ( I called him). I also called owners bank. CitiMortgage, to find out what they are going to do with the house. They won't give any info. They said unless it's listed on their reo website, they don't give out info. (It's not on the site). What can I do to get this house? Like I said, it's been empty 2 years, but I want to get it before it falls to crap and be unlivable and not worth the money and trouble to fix it back up. I know the owner still has electric on. And property taxes are up to date. Any advice??
  12. Wouldn't the monthly payments be higher on a credit card, then just using the auto financing?
  13. That's what I'm trying to find out what the other costs are? I found out that the title will be clear, no liens, and no back taxes.
  14. What other costs come with buying a auction house besides the price itself? And if you win the bid, how long does it take till you get the house?
