  1. Has anyone had an experience with disputing transactions with them? I lost my card and apparently someone went and bought gas using it. I reported the card as lost and disputed the transaction. The next business day they replied with the following: A bit ridiculous because I've never used this card to purchase gas, nor have I ever made a transaction anywhere near that city. Not to mention that I've had this card for 6 years and have never filed a dispute. Any advice how I should follow up on this?
  2. I got my orchard June 2006 and i'm still at the $300 limit. on time and everything for every payment i've made.
  3. I used ING EO for a while, and wasn't too crazy about it. the lack of paper checks, wire transfers, the whole credit score fiasco were deal killers for me. Right now i'm using schwab's investor checking: http://www.schwab.com/public/schwab/banking_lending/checking which has proved to be pretty good. No fees (at least none that've found yet), unlimited ATM refunds, excellent APY for a checking account, outstanding customer service. The lack of branches is somewhat annoying, but there are ways around that. The daily ATM limit is $2,000. Then you can transfer money to other banks nearly instantly in cases where you need more cash right then and there.
  4. I called and they offered me a CLI for $100 - with a $30 fee..
  5. I'm on chex and i've been able to open the following checking accounts without issue: Citibank ez checking Bank of America MyAccess Schwab Investor Checking Wings Financial Checking Only place i've been denied for so far is Chase. I have a paid NSF entry from july 2006
  6. I tried calling, and had no luck. From what it sounded like, I was transfered to an offshore office. I asked about getting my 29% interest rates down to something a bit more reasonable, and the rep told me that they didn't have that capability and that i'd need to call at "some other time". Then they proceeded to ask me whether or not I needed to refinance my car or if I owned a home.
  7. my FICO is roughly 528 and i'm listed on chexsystem, and i had no problem opening up a Investor Checking + Schwab One brokerage account. My opening deposit was $10,000 so that may have weighed in a lil bit on their decision. they did pull 2 HARD inquries on EQ though.
  8. This is also not a prime bank. It will not raise the credit scores the way the National City CC will. how does that work? My Orchard cards reports as being HSBC, so I would imagine that a creditor reviewing my report wouldn't know whether i'm using a subprime Orchard card or a prime HSBC card (if such a thing exists)
  9. great thread...deserves a bump
  10. I've personally never heard of anyone converting an orchard card to anything. The attitude with the orchard division of HSBC seems to be that once you've repaired your credit you should just cancel the card and get something prime.
  11. Is a "Partial C&D" even valid? I thought that either you could choose to cease all communication or none, as per the FDCPA. Although some CA's may choose to obey it anyway.
  12. yes...it's fraud. absolutely illegal
  13. this is the score simulator on www.myfico.com
  14. Amazing...this balance includes unpaid CO's which I can settle, so for about $2,000 I can increase my score 100 points alone. Crazy because back in Feb my score was 424. Feels great to finally be back up there in prime territory.
  15. the chargeoff was in may 2006, and I opened the account July 2006. I did it online through their website and it went fine without a hitch.
