Just noticed on my credit report that the State of Ohio Taxation added a joint lien. We haven't lived at that address for 10 years and have not lived in Ohio for eight. Any advice on how to handle? Never notified of this prior appearance on credit report.

Received a letter in the mail today from Webbank regarding an old Fingerhut account from 2005 early 2006. No payments since and no longer on my credit report for years. Moved from Ohio to NC in August 2006. Now they are saying they will honor my recently placed Cease and Desist (never sent them one) and they will be sending monthly statements where interest will continue to occur (have not received a bill from them in over six years). They are also stating that my credit line is closed and they may report if I fail to fulfill the terms of my arrangement. Do I just ignore or send a letter? Thanks

Two things I recall after the papers were signed with the lawyer and the keys - after the many boxes and scheduling the moving truck, we did uhaul with their movers. Many of the utilities some required deposits since they were different from what we had previously. Also we waited the entire day after the move for the cable guy. We were lucky our seller was so organized she left a folder for each appliance, garage door opener, etc with the instructions and warranties along with the additional keys. We didn't even think to change the locks. Good luck with your move!

Seasoning Money and Returning it - Tax Implications?
pblors replied to smashboogie's topic in Mortgages
Maybe I'm paranoid having just gone through the mortgage process a couple of years ago. Don't know all the implications of this situation. Just sounds wrong to me. Buying a house is more then down payment, closing costs and mortgage. A house is often expense upon expense upon expense. -
Congratulations on your new home!

We learned the hard way as kids when we said we were bored - Dusting baseboards, washing floors, yard work...

Not sure if this is a scammer or a CA.

Looks like a scam similar to something I went through. I would contact the AG in California and the FTC. -
Googled it. Weinerman & Associates out of Minnesota came up.

I've had good, bad (horrible business loss), then good credit. Wouldn't the correlation work both ways. If they would put my impeccable driving record (turning 50 without a single blemish)on my credit report then I would have no problem with them using my credit report for auto insurance and credit cards for that matter. I've known plenty of irresponsible drivers with good credit (and nice cars that cause plenty to repair) and plenty of responsible drivers with not so great credit. Not so great credit is not always due to total irresponsibility of the person. It can be an honest error, or a devastating loss. I personally believe whatever stats if they exist are manipulated - any reason to raise rates.
