I received that same email from Turbo Tax. Well at least now I know "the checks in the mail".

I had called last month due to getting something in the mail, went online and attempted to dispute it realizing I couldn't even get onto the website to dispute, thinking I locked myself out from "putting in the wrong password to many times or something". That's when a CSR informed me that my account was locked for investigational purposes. Gave me a # to privacy matters, who then had me call CSC back again. Upon which time I was given a number to Special Services hotline - fraud. Tripped me out. I'm like ...what the... Well if anyone needs to be investigated for fraud it's them. AND can't get anyone from the fruad dept to return my initial phone call either. I'll be sending out a boat load of letters. Still want to know if I have any legal recourse for tampering with my credit report accounts fraudently on their part, and has anyone else experienced this.

Is anyone out there having problems with Equifax / CSC doing ficticious disputes on their accounts. Today alone there's 1 envelope for me, and 2 for DH regarding disputes that neither of us initiated. It seems like they're just disputing everything on the accounts except mortgage items and accounts with perfect pay history. They've taken it upon themselves to dispute / "claim that customer disputes item" even on items that may have had a late pay 2 years ago. So now I've got past and present creditors thinking I'm trying to pull a fast one. Where as I want to hang someone by their ...hum eyebrows I already plan on writing to have them verify a request from us, whereas we suppossedly disputed these items - and there is none. Wait for my reply or lack there of from them. Shoot one off to the AG hey can you report them to BBB?? Do I have any legal recourse? And somewhere down the line for what good it would do, I like a formal letter of apology to my creditors. ANYWAY, looking for any and all thoughts on the matter.

I personally think Marks and Morgan are 1). getting suspicious, probably because their appl activity has probably gone up ALOT today due to the discussions and approvals today on CB, and 2). Since they are only located in a couple of states, they kind of question the state you reside in -vs- the store you say you'll be shopping at.....what like no one does anykind of shopping via the net? I did do an app over the phone and got my acct number at the same time, as with Kay and Jared. BTW, when and if applying for Kay and/or Jared via the phone, you can do it all on one phone call, otherwise, they'll pull a report for each seperate appl. Didn't know that until I was talking to the second company. M & M stated they needed to pull a seperate one. Thus I have 3 pulls rather than 2. I have a Marks and Morgan about 10 minutes from my house, but they didn't even give me the chance to ask. Sorry to hear that....especially with you being right there. Like I said, they're probably trying to figure out what's up with all the activity all of a sudden today and decided to proceed cautiously.

Hi Durnit - Thanks for the valuable information. I just applied for the Kays, Jared, and Marks and Morgan and got all 3 - whooo hooo great for utilization purposes. Many thanks for everyone input on this thread. I don't know who they pulled yet but I currently have two med collections, 3 derog, and my fako's are TU 634 \ EX 608 \ EQ 584

Congrats on your success! But can you tell me what route did you take with West Asset Management? I have 2 items with them on my credit report. I've paid both of the bills, however to the original debitor (the hospital) and this was before becoming aware of CB. I'm having absolutely no success with deletions of these items, probably because I paid the hospital. Can't get any deletions just report updated as paid account.

For me as an AU, they report to TU and EQ

Ok ladies and gents, I just rec'd my mail and waiting for me was a denial from Hooter's, with an offer of a secured card. Inquiring minds would like to know is it advantageous on my part to go ahead and send them the funds for a secured card as opposed to just getting someone else's secured? Do they release the funds and increase the credit limit after a short period of time - rather do they offer something "special" with their secured card offer?

Big Thanks Erica - See I told you it would be staring me right in the face. As many times as I've looked up various creditors I've never once noticed that I had to log in again to make an entry. Can't tell you how many times I actually didn't see that option! Per Sherlock Holmes: "elementary my dear Watson, elementary" ....told ya so!

Ok ladies and gents - I am more than willing to update the database, however in my efforts I can't for the life of me figure out how to do the darn thing. I know how to go there to check which file a creditor will pull etc, however I have searched backwards and forwards before forcing myself to ask for assistance (because I know once I find out...it will probably be so elementary)

I also applied today, got approved, and call the C/S number to get my credit limit.

Can someone please tell me, how do you get a FICO report for a mere $12.00? I used the discount code located in an earlier thread in Jan, and didn't get it for anywhere NEAR what you paid.

Congrats I've got the itch, but don't think I'll scratch just yet.

Way cool!
