finance application put in through ABC dealer
Medical Student replied to Medical Student's topic in Automotive Financing
Thanks for the input. I thought it was insane that she would lose the money if she were to put it down. I really think there is nothing more frustrating than purchasing a car I felt like a fish in a barrel when I got mine and I think she feels the same. Just to state what it was it was a wholesale dealer who we applied through directly. She was approved at two other dealerships (one of which I have to go sign papers since I put her deposit down) stating that we do not want to accept the car. Do I really have to sign papers to get my deposit put back on my amex? -
finance application put in through ABC dealer
Medical Student posted a topic in Automotive Financing
So my sister put in application in for financing through an auto dealer (used car). They told her that she was approved (she is credit *challenged*). The dealer said the bank was cap one and they could not tell her the interest rate until she put a $500 dollar NON-REFUNDABLE deposit down. So she said she has to think about it (not really - she will not do it without knowing the interest rate as that will depend on whether she gets the car or not). So, she called cap one and they told her that they can not giver her that information (even though it will be her loan???? really????????) and that she would have to call the auto dealer. The problem is as I stated, they will not contact the bank to determine the exact rate without a non-refundable down payment (again which is insane in my mind). Is there any legal means by which the auto store has to tell her the interest rate (we are in NY they are in texas) before she puts the non-refundable down payment down, or any way to force cap one to tell her the interest rate for her own loan that was approved by them (through the auto dealer)? Also as a side note - she was approved for a cap one loan through the auto dealer but denied by cap one on her own application online. any input would be immensely helpful. -
Thanks for the replies again. I am seeing the price for CCT listed as $19.95 for each month, is there a discount I do not know about? Last question for the night I promise. Which one is easier to put in disputes with? I have used the TC before (it was only really useful for trans union if I recall) and never really minded it that much - is CCT similar?
-
Thanks for the fast replies. I probably misunderstood the TC site when reading it. I can still update every day but only pull new reports every 30 days. Thanks. What is the difference between that and CCT? I have always used TC but remember people talking about CCT - is that the more prefered one now? I am assuming bumps no longer work also - am I correct to think this?
-
So I signed up for true credit again - need to get a car loan so I figured I would do some checking. Now I am noticing that you can only update every 30 days.... What did I miss? No more daily pulls? What is the best place to go for daily pulls if that can still be done (at a decent price)? Thanks in advance for the input.

Which of these cards is offering the Zero percent BT with NO BT fees? I would like to get one specific one but definitely do want the be able to transfer a balance. -
I have a question about an amex card please. It was sent to collections (just received the first notice from the collections place) can I still send a check for the full amount owed to amex to pay of the account?

subprime auto loan ... where???????????????
Medical Student replied to Medical Student's topic in Automotive Financing
Thanks for the infromation. I will give this a go maybe this weekend and let you all know the outcome. It was probably foolish of me to apply online first (I think we tried two applications online). I just hope that does not hurt my chances. -
Thanks for the reply. I think I will join one.

subprime auto loan ... where???????????????
Medical Student replied to Medical Student's topic in Automotive Financing
I am looking to spend as little as possible. So if I go to a dealer and spend (lets say) 8-9K (upon loan approval) what amount would you suggest I put as a down payment to make this loan work? Keeping my payments below 200/month is not an option and it is fairly rare from what I have seen for a dealer to keep older cars worth less on hand. Would I stand a better chance via an in person loan application at a dealer (with a co-signer)? This may be to much to ask but what type of dealer would be my best bet? A ford/mercury dealership? Thanks for the responses. -
Hi all. Thanks in advance for any responses. I am wondering what the benefits of joining a Credit union would be. I am actually looking for my father and mother. I think they want to refinance their house and I heard that there are certain benefits as far as better interest rates and acceptance with lower scores (without hiking % rates). P.S. I am thinking of looking into MCU since we are in NY, NY. Does anyone know of any other credit unions in NY and what would any differences be. THANKS!!!! Thanks...

Hi all. So I am pretty much locked out of any loan even with a co-signer. (tried a couple of online app's such as crap-one for aprox 8K) My co-signers score is aprox. 600 or just above it. My score is higher (closer to 700). To give the background (as stated in another post): I am a student with no real income except for deposits in the range of 1k or so per month. My cosigner owns their property makes aprox. 100K/year and as stated above has a low credit score. (my co-signer is not willing to take a loan on their place nor a line of credit against it. Does anyone know of anyplace that is giving loans out (hopefully not dictating where I buy the car) for people with lower credit rates. And hopefully a place that is actually lending money at this point in time. Thanks in advance for the advice...

not what I wanted to hear... but I appreciate the fast feedback. I can not provide pay stubs but I can provide proof of money going into my account (checking) each month...
-
Well I am pretty sure that a co-applicant will not help my situation as the only person I could get to co-sign has terrible credit. I would imagine somewhere between 550 - 620. I do have an income, however small it may be. And in addition I do have proof of money coming in - in the form of deposits into my checking accounts every month (always the same or similar amounts). Is that still a no in your (or anyone else's) opinion?
