I have a feeling I will be served soon.. debt is for cc card. Should I send DV to them? I'm not sure of how old this card is, I believe it debt is about 4-5 yrs old and original amount was about $500, now they want me to pay $2500 !! I need to check into the details of SOL in Illinois. I guess my question is will DV stop them from filing judgement ? or is it too late at this point to stop them ? Thanks for any advice!!

You can hire somebody, but you can probably do it yourself for free. Even if you hire someone there is no guarantee they will be able to clear everything off your report. I've read some horror stories on this board about people who have paid a company to clean their report, only to end up with little or no results. I'm sure there are reputable companies out there, just be careful or better yet take the time to read here and learn to do it yourself. I got one with a TU score of 539--I applied online and got the 7-10 day message. They actually called my work to verify place of employment--I got my card about 5 days later. Only $200 limit, but I am happy, I tried about 1 yr ago and they turned me down at that time.

Not even sure what this is--havent recently opened any acct with cap one, but I do have a charged off cap one acct from years ago. Anyway, should I DV them even though there has been no contact by mail? This is so frustrating, my scores were just starting to move up and now this pops up!! Any advice on how to handle this will be appreciated.

Not sure if you can get it off that easy---I know some people on this board have had success getting them off by disputing with CRA's. Maybe someone who has been able to get a judgement off their report can chime in. I will be finished paying a judgement in June and would be interested in knowing how to get this off my report too!!

I received and alert from True credit---Transunion had updated my place of employment, and it just so happens that about a week ago--my co-worker told me I received a call from someone wanting to interview me(??), I was off that day--and they told her they would call back the next day around noon. No one ever called back--now this is on my report. I have been working at the same place for 4 yrs. There was also an inquiry for RNB-WEB, who is this? Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!!

Just applied and got the "unable to do instant decision, you will receive a letter from us within 30days with additional information about your application" Sounds like a decline to me!! I have a BK from 2001--I didnt think they would approve, but I thought I would give it a try!!

Got mine (50) today was not there at 2am, checked back at 8am and it was there--going to try to save some and pay cc bills

I applied for Avenue clothing store--approved for $250.00!!! Yaay!!

I called the magic number yesterday and spoke to a very friendly rep--gave me a $200 CLI !! now up to $500 I have had card since 10/06 never late or over limit. this is my first CLI. I know its not much but I am happy with it!!!
