Hello all.... Long time, no post!! Anyway, I received a collection letter today for $766 - emergency room visit. Insurance should have paid 100% as I had met deductible (in 2020). However, for some reason unknown to me at this time, they did not. I am confident they will after I speak w/them tomorrow or next week. I read elsewhere that medical collections are removed from credit reports once paid but wanted to come here to validate that statement. Any truth? I can also pay the bill myself; although, the providers website shows $0 balance - assumingly because it's been assigned to collection agency. It's just a hassle to get the insurance company to reimburse. I'd love some suggestions from folks that helped me from from the high 500's to the 800 club...! Thanks in advance!!

Hello again.. I'd like to use WhyChats HiPAA program; however, my latest reports from myfico.com don't show the account numbers for the three collections. Any suggestion on how I might find those? Thanks, PMR

So, I made the last payment on my car a week or so ago (on time). Within less than a week, my score dropped 40 points across all three agencies. Is that legit? My report says "an account listed on your credit report has been updated". WTH?

I currently have an 840 Equifax FICO Score. This AM, I got a notice that a 'Collection' had been added to my report. I immediately start to investigate. Sure enough, I had a negative for a medical bill for $95 which was supposedly incurred last fall - almost a year ago. I don't think it's mine but that's not the question. Is it possible that can be added w/o changing my score? It was posted this AM and my score still reflects the 840. It also hasn't posted to either TU or Experian - which they almost always alert me within an hour or so of each other when there's a change. What the hell?

There's no balance on the card @ all. I just don't want her charging anything until the divorced is done. I'm just concerned about getting myself jammed up by removing my wife from an account that's 'mine' - because, in WI, once you're married, I'm not sure that 'mine' is even a word in the vocabulary.

Wow... Been a while since I posted here...! Howdy! So, my wife and I have been married for six years. She has crap for credit and never had any interest in repairing it. She's a user on my cards. The cards she has are NOT joint. They are simply cards from accounts that I added her to after we were married. Can I legally remove her? Essentially, I'll be initiating a divorce this week and don't want her to spend a bunch of money before it's final. Any help would be appreciated.

You would think @ 850, the banks would just let you walk into the vault and grab what you needed. LOL!

...been a while!! With the help of this site, I've managed to raise my score from in the 500/s to 830 - is, which leads to my question. Does anyone actually have an 850 score? I mean, at 830, I get all kinds of reasons why it's not higher - length of credit history, number of accounts or whatever. Just wondering if 850 is actually achievable..

Yes. Getting money back is secondary to their reporting a thirty day late because I didn't receive a bill.

I'll try it..! Thanks!!! I did tell them that. They didn't seem to care.

I have a letter penned to Richard Fairbank (CEO) himself. Sending out today - along w/chat transcript where CSR actually told me it was probably a 'system error' that caused me to not get my statement. If anyone has a suggestion for where else to send, don't hesitate. As always, THANKS!!

I tried reasoning w/them via online chat and they waived the $35 Late Fee; however, they refuse to change the reporting and asked if I wanted them to initiate a dispute. I declined. They really hide behind that 'we can't change it', 'we're required to...', blah, blah, blah, crap... Anybody think there's a chance they won't verify if I try a dispute? I guess the next step would snail mail letters to corporate...? Any other advice would be appreciated..!

I'm set up for electronic billing and, quite frankly, I don't think I got the bill.
