Need help on how to get started.
ssbgoodwin replied to ssbgoodwin's topic in Medical Billing & Medical Collections
Thank you all for your reply. I haven't moved since I had my twins. Do you know of how they may have my medical reports outlining the services rendered and cost? It's the exact same report that the specialist sent me with the invoice. Sorry I'm just curious as it's important documents for a third party to get a hold of. The last time I did a dispute online was two years ago. BTW thanks for refreshing my memory as the EOB was exactly what UHC told me the specialist had to abide by. They even sent them the EOB after they refuse my initial payment by phone. I have a copy of it as well. -

Thank you jl3. In the mean time, what is balance billing? -
Hello everyone. I'm in the process of cleaning up our credit but is at a dead end with this stubborn open collections on both of our credit. My husband and I have been dealing with a collection agency since the birth of our twins. Long story short, when our twins were born as preemies they were automatically sent to the nicu for two months. During that time they were seen by various physicians within and outside of the hospital without our knowledge or consent. We received a bill for $1200 from a specialist who had one day examined our twins in the nicu without our knowledge. We called the hospital asking them if this was even possible to have an outside physician see our twins without us signing or consenting to it? Surprisingly they were too speechless. Eventually we handed the bill over to our insurance company united health care at that time and they took care of it. A month later we received a check from united health care for $800 to pay the specialist. I than called the doctor's office and tried to make a payment. The secretary advised me that they don't take partial payments and the full amount of $1200 must be paid in full. Her statement didn't sound right so I hung up and called united health care. UHC advised me that they have to accept that payment for the service as that's the only amount that they are entitled to as there's a cap of some sort. Sorry I'm not really familiar with the overall health insurance stuff. I sent in that check anyways per uhc's rep and never heard anything else from the specialist. We assumed that was the end of it. Fast forward to 3 years later my husband and I started to get harassing collection calls on our home, cell, and work phone. They were even calling people we knew. Finally when I spoke to the CA I had advised them to no longer call and all correspondence must be in writing. Surprisingly they stop calling and we've only been receiving letters. Recently I pulled my credit report and saw them listed as an open account on my TU and Ex report. I tried to dispute it online with both cra's and it came back verified. I've been reading whychats blog on how to get started and the steps but am still confused on which letter to start off with first or who do I contact first? I did do a DV two years ago and the CA sent back my twins medical reports outlining everything. It was definitely a copy provided to them by the doctors office as that's the same report they sent us initially with the invoice. I'm in California and my SOL is still within 4 years. Any help would be greatly appreciated ☺.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking around and trying to get information on whether or not I should pay the OC's on two credit card accounts that are now charge off? First card is through USAA for $1200 with date of last payment on 10/12 and DOFD was on 12/12. The second credit card is an American eagle card for $298 through synchrony bank with DOFD on 3/13 and date of last payment on 2/13. It looks like both accounts have not been assigned to an outside CA yet as I do not see any listed on my credit reports. However both OC's are still reporting every month. I know I'm still within SOL; I'm in California BTW. I'm wondering if I pay these two cards off in full will it help my fico scores in any way? I don't want to settle on it and than it back fires on me by bringing my scores down or reaging the account especially during my credit repair process. If by paying them off in full will not benefit my credit at all than I would rather save my $$ and have it fall off of my credit report 😕. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi everyone. Both AES and ACS have my separation date from school as June 30th, 2012 and me going into repayment December 30th, 2012. However that is incorrect because I am graduating Spring 2013 and repayment is within 6 months after that. My registrar wrote and sign a letter verifying my correct enrollment and anticipated graduation date. I had fax this form over to both servicers and they have been giving me the run around. AES is saying it can take two weeks before they can update it and than telling me again it can take longer than two weeks. ACS is claiming they never got my fax or email with that letter attached. I sent it again today via fax and email and they are claiming the same thing. At this point, I am more frustrated than anything with these two companies and my question is if I can go to the lender or guarantor of these loans to have them update my separation date for me? I need this updated because I am closing on a house and uw is asking for the corrected deferment and repayment date before closing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

AAFES Mililtary Star Rewards Card...Approved!
ssbgoodwin replied to mastergunner's topic in Military Credit
I applied for this card yesterday at the exchange and was approved for a credit limit of $3,600 as well. My score is in the mid 600s for all three bureaus. My DH is active duty military. -
I have been trying to dispute EOS CCA with the bureaus for an old AT&T bill but it keeps coming back verified. I checked the DOLA on my reports and it shows DOLA as 04/2007. I am in California and wanted to see if the SOL is 2 or 4 years for a cell phone bill? I am also debating if I should send a debt validation to this company as well. I've been reading up on them and have found that they are very hard to deal with. Has anyone had any recent success with getting them removed from your credit report?

Hi. Thanks for replying. Yes I did receive the green card back. The dispute showed up in their system on June 22nd, 2011. I disputed a total of 6 accounts as obsolete using WhyChat's template. EX and TU deleted them right away but EQ is the only one I am still waiting on. Two accounts were suppose to fall off last month, three this month, and one more in October. So I am not sure why they are taking so long to give me an update.

I disputed through TU, EX, and EQ on 6/22/2011. TU and Ex gave me results within 3 weeks. Most of my baddies that were due to fall off within 6 months were deleted from TU and some with EX. However, its been over 30 days and almost 45 days but no results yet from EQ. Is this a good or bad thing? I've never seen any of the bureaus take this long for a dispute. So what happens once they exceed the 45 days? Does that mean they have to delete if they can't verify it? I also sent the dispute through CMRRR. Thanks in advance for the reply.

Okay thanks clambert1273. I was getting a little worried since I am able to see those disputes in progress online with Ex and Eq.
-
I sent a dispute as "obsolete" to TU by CMRRR and received the green card back July 5th. When I log on to check the dispute status, nothing shows up. However when I pulled my credit report, it shows the accounts that I've disputed listed as "consumer dispute this account information." Also, there were 2 accounts listed in the letters that I've disputed that does not show that I'm disputing those when in fact I did.
-
Okay I will DV them and see where it goes from there. If I do not hear anything back, I will than file a complaint with the FTC, AG, and BBB. Let me know how it goes for you.
-
Thanks jack1212. Yes I am trying to get a mortgage that's why I've been impatient with it. If it wasn't for that I would of just let it fall off and not even bother.

I've been sending PFD letters to the most recent CA on my reports as a quicker way to get the baddies off my report because DH and I are on a tight schedule with wanting to buy a house. Than I've been disputing other baddies as obsolete because they are suppose to fall off between now through December. I've had luck with most of these CA who are willing to do a PFD and some accounts disputed as obsolete have actually fallen off my reports. The only CA that I've haven't heard a reply back from yet in regards to my PFD is AFNI. Its been 30 days and nothing. So I decided to email them with the same letter. They responded back and said per their company policy, they do not do PFD. I than disputed with all CRAs as obsolete because it's due to fall off December of this year anyways. They came back verified. So now I am thinking of going another route and send a DV. What do you guys think? Am I able to do that although I sent a PFD? Also, the last letter I received from them was a settlement offer for half the balance back in November 2010. This is a T-Mobile account from November 2004. I am in California so I know the SOL is out. BTW, just wanted to say thank you to all for all the help with my credit repair process. You guys have been a really big help and given me a lot of useful information and great guidance through this process. Thanks again!
