I saw Name Seeker on my EQ. Called EQ to find out name, address, phone # and the rep said "I will delete the inquiry." I said, "are you going to delete it or investigate it." Quickly she said "Both." I wanted to know what purpose they believed they had to pull a soft.

I'm in no great hurry to purchase, but would like to buy at year end. So back in Sept I looked at some vehicles on the web, and submitted some Quote Requests. I received notices from CarsDirect and Autobytel that they had forwarded my requests to local Chevy dealers. Due to results I tried a second time in October. Here are my results. . Dealer 2. Hi, I am the internet salesperson. We have several vehicles, and here are the MSRPs... [i wrote back - you need to tell me something about the vehicles other than just a VIN, like the options, etc., so that I can bid]. No reply. Dealer 3. Hi, I am the internet sales manager. When can you come in? Ask for me. In the meantime, I'll be emailing you a receipe for brownies. [brownies??]. I asked about 3 vehicles shown in inventory. He replied "They are sold. Come by and I'll show you something else. Dealer 4. No response ever. Autobytel did a 1 week check with me. "How was the dealer's response?" When I replied that I was never contacted, Autobytel said something to the effect "we'll kick some butt and you'll be contacted." A week later they followed up. I still had heard nothing. No change 50 days later. Dealer 5. Appears quote request sent by GM server. I was cc's on the email to the local dealer. Email text has confusing info that I did not enter on my request. Heard nothing back; it's been 1 week. Ok folks, I suppose I expected something better than this. Every dealer website that I've visited has offered internet quotes or bids, and claims to have internet department. One large local dealer was running daily ads in late Oct. for $15 off MSRP on Tahoes. I bid $30 on a $47 MSRP as a starting point. Thought I would receive some counter. Actual reply is the Dealer 1 above. Anyone had a better experience? I will nego and buy in person, but had hoped I could get a feel for dealers' willingness to dicker by the internet reponses. That help me narrow the available pool of dealers down to a couple.

What if the account is an old chargeoff, and Sears hasn't owned it in over 3 years? Citi isn't collecting, but there has been some CRA activity in 2001 listed under Sears.

No, not the CN GEORGE. Anybody else recorded any fold'n money? I posted three bills in 1999 and forgot about the site. Had a hit this past month on one of those 4 year old Georges - bill made it from East Coast to (almost) West Coast. Something to do between battles. http://www.wheresgeorge.com/

Has anyone seen a new address for written disputes to Citibank for an old Sears account? I'd hate to send the letter I'm working on to Sears, only to be told 'sorry, you need to be communicating to Citigroup." I just checked Searscard.com, and it still has the Sears business names and the same C-town addresses. I did see the Citigroup name in the Privacy Policy statement.

http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repai...xperian+top+gun Folks claimed these numbers were working in July. I've communicated with Carrie Higginbotham. Tried email, but she always says "you must write to me." I found her to be useless. You may have better luck just picking a number and calling. The person that answers will be most surprised that you knew a direct phone number. You can tell them you random dialed after finding a working phone number in another department. Be careful with Carla '666' Blair.

LKH thanks for correcting me on the utilization ratio. Been up too many hours straight I suppose. Today's offer was the fourth Cap 1 that was Fixed at 4.9 with no fees, so I was tempted. Plus I've read many times how Cap reports limit = balance, or no limit at all. Off to the shredder.

Have 2 car loans at 13% (before corrections were won to reports). One veeHickle has only 14 payments left, and the other is about to # 30. Best credit union refi rate is 5.9%, which is similar to what I've seen with some of the web lenders. Well, in the mail today came a Cap 1 credit card offer. Fixed 4.9%, no fee, can BT with no fee. Unsure of what approved limit would be, but the offer says up to $30k. So I could apply for the card, then BT the payoff balances on both cars. Positives Rate drops 13% to ~4% I avoid the aggro of trying to refinance 2 vehicles with vastly different months remaining. I will receive the titles. Monthly car payments drop since interest portion drops. (I will still stick to budget and make same monthly payments, only now it goes to Cap One). Negatives I detest how Cap 1 fails to report true credit limit. Cap 1 will place inquiries on all 3 reports. Revolving balances will suddendly jump by $15,000 or so, but so will the credit limit. So util percentage should be the same. FICO will suffer due to new revolving acct and new hard inquiry. What am I not considering? Does it make sense to refinance this way?
