Anyone else having problems with EQ not reporting?
ornie replied to creditbwacked's topic in Credit Forum
What is the email address for the Executive Offices? My DH has the same problem. Thank you in advance. -
I've experienced the same before. It sounds like your file is blocked or locked. I emailed Dinah Watson (Executive Consumer Service) and she fixed it for me. It might be an address discrepancy issue and she will ask you to fax or email her copies of your DL and other documents. If that's not the problem, she will tell you what is. I have found her to be very nice and helpful. Here is her email address: dinah.watson@equifax.com Hope this helps.

If it is the same Enhanced Recovery Corporation in Jacksonville, FL they put 2 collection accounts on all 3 of my bureaus. Both collections were for 2 Sprint accounts I had that went bad just 2 years ago. When they popped up on my bureaus the first time, I was surprised and angry because I never received anything from them. I DV'ed them immediately CMRRR and within a week the collection was off all 3 bureaus. Two months later they showed up again on all 3 bureaus with the other Sprint account and I did the same thing. They took it off within a week.

My brother has a bike that he voluntarily surrendered. He was in military and they discovered a tumor in his head. Eventually he was honorably discharged and is now a disabled veteran. During that time, he had fell behind on his payments. Harley Davidson refused to work with him so he surrendered the bike. HD auctioned it off and came after him for the difference of $9,259. They reported the account as a charge off on all 3 credit bureaus. My brother worked out a payment agreement with HD and they started deducting $100/month from his bank account about 5 or 6 mos. ago. However, the account still continues to report as a charge off and has not been updated since 10/2009. How should he go about disputing this? HD should not be reporting this as a charge off if they are taking his money for the alleged "charged off" amount, right? Please advise. I appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Try to email Dinah Watson, Executive of Consumer Affairs. Her email address is: Dinah.Watson@equifax.com and describe your situation in your email to her. Also, include a phone number where she can reach you because she will call you. That is what I did a few times and she always called me and would go over my report and discuss it with me. Each time she was able to fix my problems. I cannot guarantee that she can help you with your situation but it is worth a try. I have had problems with my credit file a couple of times. An example is once they froze my Equifax report without my consent or request. I needed to start electric service for my new home. The power company couldn't pull my credit report due to it being frozen. They needed to determine if I needed a deposit or not. Since my report couldn't be pulled, I was told I needed to put a $340 deposit. They said my file was frozen and they couldn't pull it. I was furious. I called everyone possible at Equifax and they couldn't help. I emailed Dinah Watson and she called me back the very next day. My report was unfrozen as soon as we hung up. Needless to say, I was able to go back to the power company and tell them to pull my report and not pay a deposit. Good luck!

Some accounts do disappear temporarily as soon as you put them in dispute. If they come back verified, they will show up again.

So, what is a "special handling" group?

How do you sign up for Myprivacymatters? All I can find is for customers of BB&T, which I am not.

I have tried a zillion times by writing to Chase and asking them to update the "Current Status". (Was one time 30 days late in 2006 and one time 60 days late in 2005) The account has been paid and closed since May 2006. What should the current status be showing? Chase keeps writing back stating they do not update a customer's credit report as a courtesy and they keep verifying that they are reporting correctly. I have never been 91 - 120 days late! I have already tried several times disputing the 3 CRA's and it always comes back verified by Chase. Can someone advise me on how to successfully dispute this? Thank you. Equifax used to delete inquiries almost immediately when you disputed them online, by mail, or by fax. No questions asked, they just deleted them within 24 hours. However, they have recently (within the last 2 weeks or so) changed that. She will probably get a "inquiries are factual" letter telling her to contact the creditor who placed the inquiry. If you speak to someone at Equifax, they will tell you that they cannot dispute or remove inquiries. I spoke to someone there a few days ago and asked them if they cannot dispute/remove inquiries, then why is there an option to dispute them online? Her answer was, "Honestly, I don't know why...."

Hi, I received an email from DNB when I tried to get my password for eupdate and it tells me to call them. If I call and refuse to buy their credit builder, will they still give me a password?

Try www.21st.com. Their rates were cheaper than Geico when I checked and they say they don't rate you based on your credit scores.

When I first started disputing with EQ I got a couple of those letters asking for identification but I never sent them anything. About a week later they still sent me copies of my updated credit report. The only time I did send them any proof of identification (driver's license, social security card, or utility bill) was when I disputed names they had on my report, wrong addresses, and other personal info just to prove to them who I am and what my current address really is. Then again, you're disputing a BK so maybe that's why they need to verify your ID.

Sorry! Just re-read and caught that. I think you've shown me the next path. I'm going to do some more reading and sleep on this, then make a plan tomorrow. Thanks very much for the replies and link. One more quick question, I am going to check out the site, but let me ask then, did you leave the address blank or use other address? This was a little unclear to me. Thanks. I'm in California and don't see office here on their site. So I'd be filing MI BBB, MI AG, and FTC under this plan of attack? Best, ex-d The thread wasn't my thread. It was someone else who was successful in deleting Asset without validating. I thought you might find useful info. I'm in Florida so I filed with Florida AG and MI AG. The address I used for Asset was the Michigan address on my reports and address on the letters they sent. I sent 3 DV letters CMRRR and they never validated, they just kept sending me letters "We've received your letter. Please call. We want to help. Great offer! We're willing to settle for 50%!", etc...and they always send it regular mail. So even if they sent me "proper validation" which they never did, how can they prove it? Anyway, the DV letters did no good so I followed what many others have done here to get rid of Asset.....file with AG (MI & Your State), BBB, and FTC. Asset cannot continue to report or attempt to collect if they can't validate the debt! Make sure you let the AG, BBB, and FTC know they're violating the law and your consumer rights.
