  1. Yes. Thank you.
  2. Amex Delta:6700Amex Blue Everyday: 2300 Affinity Plus:2500 Nordstrom Visa Signature: 5000 Barclay's: 1300 Affinity and Barclays are unlikely to sue. The amounts are too small. It could happen, but it is unlikely. The Amex amounts are large enough to be concerned about. Maybe ignore those till after charged off, then fight with JDB which is easier to chase off. Then start disputing the OC tradeline once Amex no longer owns the debts. Nordstrom sold their accounts to TD Bank. Likely the same strategy as Amex. Wait and fight the JDB after charge off, then dispute the OC once they forfeit their ownership and their right to sue. I had no problem with poking the bear early back when I was doing my credit repair. But I was also fine with getting sued and intentionally driving up their legal expenses as part of my strategy. When they realized I could answer the complaint correctly and probably defeat their motion for summary judgment, then they realized a full trial would cost them between 2x to 3x more than they were suing me for .... they quickly start negotiating. And my offer was $0.00 and we each go our separate ways. They dismissed their claims and I dismissed my counterclaims, all with prejudice and they deleted from the credit bureaus. Thank you for the advice.Amex has been charged off, I received a letter this week from CA for 40% settlement. I hope I can avoid court.
  3. Thank you. I don't know if I'm ready to risk going to court yet. It looks like laying low while finding ways to increase available credit is the best option for me right now.

  5. Hello All, 2nd time around cleaning up/rebuilding credit however this time around all debts, charge offs were reported last year. I am in need of suggestions, advice or pointers on the best approach. I live in MN, and the debts being so new, I know it may be a harder battle this time around. Should I wait for the Charge offs to age a little bit and live with poor scores in the meantime or start as soon as possible? CO: Amex Delta- Amex Everyday Cash- Affinity Plus Credit Card Closed by Creditor( entered into a debt relief program): Barclays Rewards- Nordstrom Visa Signature Thank you all for your input
  6. Creditors will report it as closed by them
  7. It's been a while... I'm in need of insights/inputs for anyone who has used repayment programs through Nordstrom or Amex. Things have been rough financially for the last couple of months, I haven't been able to keep up with the payments on my Amex Delta, Blue Cash and Nordstrom Visa due due to job lost in August 2015. Emergency funds are now exhausted, I have taken a job making 25K less than I was making before as it has been very hard finding employment. I was told my Amex and Nordy's reps I could enter a repayment program through them where the accounts would be closed and I will have to reapply once the balances were low enough. I would rather take a closed account than a CO as this is my second time rebuilding and fighting to remove some CO years ago was a headache 😑 however I thought I would run this by the board as I know all of you have a wealth of information. Any advice or input is appreciated.
  8. I got approved last month at 696 TU for 1300. I called to ask for a higher limit but it was not approved. My TU is clean except a 30 day late from Feb 2014.
  9. I apologize if this is very obvious but I have been through threads after threads and Whychat's web page but I am still a little confused. Does the DV letter sent to the CA after the initial dispute letter need to include the certified mail number on the slip? Am I to wait until I know it has been received before mailing it out to the only CRA reporting it? Do I include the CM from the DV letter to CA on the letter to CRA or a new CM?
  10. Thank you, I have been looking into Capital One blank check.
  11. It's just a little frustrating when I thought I had my oranges in order . Thanks for the reply The loan officer did say that even though I am still in school and not required to make payments on the student loans now, Once I graduate it will the debt will affect my monthly payments. Thanks for the reply. I'm not so sure I wouldn't be checking with a different bank, especially if your student loans are in deferment. $36k should easily land you some cards, assuming your reports are clean. Every bank/CU that I've done business with takes my student loans out of my DTI when the loans are in deferment. ETA: I never once applied for or had any student cards. Go big or go home. Haha I must definetly not be doing it right... You have a good line up of cards in your siggy. I did not think student loans while in school would be counted against me but as a knowleadgable man stated earlier " You can't compare your apples to somebody else's oranges" .
