Hello, I have 2 credit cards that last payment was made on them about 1.5 years ago and my States SOL is 7 yrs. I was offered a couple of settlement offers. One one of the cards I owe about 3k on it and about 6 months ago I was offered a settlement of 550.00 on it, but funds needed to be to them in about a week. At the time we were not able to get those funds. Now I was offered a settlement of about 30% off of what I owe on the card. The second card no one has botherd to do anything about it. I am wondering if anyone has a sample letter for me to send to them to settle the debt for less? Do i mention for them not to file a 1099-c or leave it be. Any samples would be great. I just wanna get these paid off before the end of the year, so I can Start 2013 off on the right FOOT!! As with a job transfer we will need to sell or rent our house and either rent or buy a new house in other city Thanks

Ok, Thanks for reading...I have been out of the credit rebuilding for sometime now, but I have some questions. My wife got a letter the other day from Asset Acceptance, llc for a old wells fargo account. The letter states. Ms. Wife, We would like to help you eliminate this debt with us. Your current balance is 3500.00, but if you pay us 99.00 by Date, wi will close your account and consider it paid. Why wait? Act now! To accept this offer you need to do the following: Call someone Pay online Mail a check Benifits of accepting this offer: A zero balance on your wells fargo account with us. A paid account letter upon request. My questions are the "WITH US" Does this sound legit? Sounds like one heck of a deal, but sounds too true. Thanks for the help.

This story gets good and just had to share it. I have two medical collections that my wife's ex was suppose to kick in 50% of total cost after insurance. The medical bill personal wanted like 450 a month. We were able to pay for a while then money got tight and we called and talked to the billing dept and they said if we were late 3 months in a row they would turn it over to collections and more or less told us not there problem. Even tho they were on the news saying they were helping people out with setting up low payments as to avoid any problems. So, acct went to collections. We ended up pay it off back in 2005-06. They still are on there saying they are correct info and will say on there for 7yrs. When we got the first letter from collection dept they said you had the normal 30 day dispute process...well we disputed and they had a copy of exactly what was done x-rays, shots, office visits, lab work....etc.....We misplaced it due to moving. After we settled down from moving...I sent a letter saying I would like a copy of all the x-rays, shots, office visits, lab work....etc....they responded saying they don't have anything. When they acct gets paid they send the info back to doctors....Now her ex wants to pay everything off...So, we called up doctors and got the info they said to contact collection dept same one who handled this to get a copy of everything else. I figured I would try calling this time. They said that they have the info and would send it out...i asked if it had x-rays, shots, office visits, lab work....etc.... and she said yes it does. So....when we get this paper work...how or what should I do far as getting items removed from my credit report. I would think it would be Hippa laws?? Thanks, Tom

I know that we need to have about 10 months of property tax added to the loan amount and that is why they needed to do an appraisal which it came out for the good for us. He did tell me that he always runs his fees on the higher side and that when the bank signs off he lowers it as it helps...the bank i guess he is going thru is 5th 3rd bank out of chicago area. He did tell me that he would lower the fees and he said it looks like he is getting 4% but he said it would be more like 2%. I guess it helps with the appraisal i guess. I have done business with this company a few times before...the owner actually is a close friend of the family.

Loan officer got us locked into 5.75% rate for us doing a 30 yr fixed FHA streamline...I was just wondering if it would be a benefit for me to pull money out of my 401k to lower the loan to value and lower my monthly payments since this is a pretty good rate and I am sure in the next 5-7 yrs the rates will be up to the 7-9% rates.
-
Since the stock market is kinda idle right now...Would it be in my best intrest in borrowing from my 401K to refi our loan? Just thinking if I had extra cash could get lower rates and possible lower house payment

I know CITI has a hardship for homeowners would this be a good way to lower payment and intrest rate? If they say i have too much debt or dont meet enough could they cancel the loan and kick us out?? We can make payment right now, but we are close each month, have never been late on any of our accounts, wife just recently had a old medical bill go to collection this causing the lower score i know back in May/June she was in the 680ish. I know that rates more than likely wont go up too fast and will stay around the 5.25-5.75 rate for a while now(hopefully). This giving us time for credit score to increase and tax returns to pay down cc debt and apply some to houseloan and savings. I know If the hardship could be reached it would cut the payments down in the mean time and not cost me 6k or more to refi at this time and let the market stable a while and be able to put a new roof on the garage and front porch to increase value of house. I know last year when we were going thru M&I they had a 620 cut off...he did tell me over the phone that 5th thrid bank out of the chicago area is pretty good but they usually have a bit higher intrest rate. Let me know what avenue i should go with. Thanks in advance for the help

I dont know why he said one thing and ended up running the score anyways doesnt sound like a "easy" refi like they claim it is suppose to be. My credit scores are 654,653,636. Wifes are 612,653,596 Any ideas on whom to try? This whole refi stuff makes me sick considering current lender CITI whom we all know got bailed out won't refi the stuff internally for no fee type of deal. Since it is an FHA and its been about a yr since last refi they cant just go off of the existing appraisial.
-
My credit score is average of 653, wife 612 I guess the appraisal need to come out to be 190k or better so we dont have to bring in anything for closing, but other than that i dont know what it is for... I did ask for lower rate, but said due to credit score it was the best they could get thru M&I

Does anyone have any type of ceo email address info on the homedepot card. Had to laugh at them tho...i told them since this is now the third card they can double my limit and give me 0%APR for 2 yrs it was worth a shot then they said it was illegal to do that and they couldn't lower or raise my credit limit or change my apr with out running my credit and having it being approved. So why have citi jacked peoples rates and lowered there limits for no reason and they said that they have never done that.
-
I filled out a credit card app for Home Depot in mid May 09 and was approved for 1500. stated I would recieve card in 10-14 days. Normal time frame...I called up the 20th of June and said they would issue me out another card and wait another 14 days..Called July 9,09 and said that I should wait till the 10th as it would be the time fame allowed. Called today the 12th and demanded special deals since they have mess up several times. Talked to the Customer redention dept and they wouldnt't meet my requests only thing was give me 10% off up to 200.00. Now the manager has said that the second card wasnt't sent out. I sure feel like i am getting jerked around. Of Course they are handled by CitiGroup. Has anyone else had issues like this on a credit card.

Credit cards in wifes name how to get credit for me too

Well I have called up best buy after she was done credit card shopping and added her as an AU on my bestbuy card. Her credit had higher numbers so this is why we used her score for credit cards once she gets her card then she will add me as an AU too. The lady at bestbuy told me that the difference between AU and Joint is "The good thing is AU Don't have to pay for it if they dont want too" and joint "you have to pay for it" she claims it would all report the same and wouldn't lower or affect credit limits being AU She said it would take one billing cycle for it to show up on wifes report. So far we have Chase rewards gas card CL 400.00 Opened 2/07 Wife name said that is the max the card is allowed? BestBuy store CL 750.00 Opened 2/09 My name Slumberland store CL 2500.00 Opened 3/09 Wife name Menards store CL 2000.00 Opened 3/09 Wife name Capital One Standard Platinum CL 1000.00 Opened 3/09 My name Any other cards people would recommend??
