a brief timeline: * in mid-2020, i had a doctor's appt for which i paid my copay in office. my copay is $30 (specialist $60, which we'll get to later) * mid-2021, i start getting letters from my doctor's billing dept stating that i have an unpaid balance of $30 * i contact both doctor and insurance to figure out what's up. someone incorrectly coded my visit as a specialist visit. * from mid-2021 through march 2022, i go back and forth what seemed like weekly with both doctor and insurance, trying to get this resolved * march 2022, i talk to doctor's billing office and they finally contact insurance directly. insurance advises a new EOB has been sent w/ payment (or however that works). doctor tells me once payment is received, we should be good to go. * may 5, 2022 - doctor's office still hasn't received payment from insurance. instead of following up with either insurance or me directly, they just send it to collections and call it a day * today: i get notification that my $0.00 balance is not because it was paid (as i assumed since they told me payment was finally being sent by insurance and i knew it should have been covered to begin with), but has been sent to collections * i speak with insurance. they insist payment was sent and they have "no idea" why doctor sent me to collections (because, of course) * i speak with doctor's billing dept. they insist they never received payment (because, of course). they call insurance and speak with someone who says they'll send out yet another new EOB and payment. this could take 48 hours plus 10-15 business days. doctor says they cannot remove from collections until they receive payment. * second e-mail comes in from doctor's office that they will mark as paid once payment comes in. i respond informing them that's not good enough, it needs to be REMOVED, not just marked as paid. * doctor's office responds again, saying that they have no control over how it's reported on my credit report and that i need to contact the collection agency. at this point, i'm done. i responded that if it shows up on my credit report, my first and only contact will be to a lawyer. where do i go from here? two years of fighting something that insurance should have covered from the jump, and now it's going to ding my credit which has been picture perfect for almost 10 years...i'm absolutely furious right now.

that's what i would have thought to do as well, but i was confused by everyone else in this thread suggesting that's going to end up getting the account shut down... -

how are you buying an amazon gift card with the PSL, though? -

how'd you go about keeping the PSL active? just advance to psecu checking and then pay it back immediately? -
yeah, i just saw that now...didn't see it because it was posted after my original question and i just re-loaded this page rather than trying to dig thru the whole forum. mods, feel free to merge this with the other thread

bump...anyone? i remember a ton of people getting the combo years ago - is everyone using them both, or am i the only one that got this letter?
-
so today i got a letter from PSECU that my PSL has been inactive for 18 months, and they will be cancelling it unless i make an advance on it within the next 30 days. the only way to change from inactive to active is to use it - you can't just call in and tell them you want to keep it. anyone else get this letter? i'm guessing making a small charge on it and paying it right away would be the optimal way to do things? i don't want to lose the extra $20k line... edit: can a mod change the title to PSECU? not sure how i screwed that up in the topic...

does this notation hurt your score? i have a store card w/ raymour and flanigan i used to buy a bedroom set and mattress a few years ago and have been paying on at 0% since then (the term is up and card will be paid off in january)...r&f terminated their relationship with wells fargo and as such, closed the card. i have never missed a payment, in fact it has been on auto pay the entire time...but my reports say 'closed by credit grantor.' i vaguely remember this to be a bad thing...no? is this hurting me?

What happened between the Walmart and Discover scores? They're both TU 08. how many different TU scores are there? i searched and i know the info is there somewhere but i must be searching for the wrong terms...walmart over the past three months has said my fico is 744-749-749, but a home equity loan i just had a pull done for said my TU score was only 722. there shouldn't be any major differences on the reports, i haven't opened any new accounts or anything like that... Walmart is 08, mortgage UWs use 04. thanks!

Would it hurt to have a current summary at the top of the thread? Had there been one I never would have started this thread to begin with. I think that's what he was getting at...
