While I'm no fan of AMEX I thought that some members may find this of benefit. Ameriprise has this offer on their website for clients. The apply online link forwards directly to American Express with no place on the application for an Ameriprise account number. The terms of the offer specify that it's for Ameriprise clients only which could be as easy as opening a savings account online. I have the Ameriprise World Elite MC which would qualify me but in my opinion the Ameriprise card is much better than the AMEX card. The $450 fee is waived for the first year plus their is a 25% rewards bonus for those pushing $20k+ in annual charges through the AMEX. Amex Platinum Charge Card

I don't often hear negative comments about NFCU. Contact upper management and let us know if they make it right.

I've got a bad feeling about the credit floodgates opening again

I'm waiting for the NFCU $75K Business Visa pre-approval. It should be in my mailbox any day -

I'm sure they've seen a copy of either your personal or business credit report. Many times they will toss you a bone with a $1k - $5K pre-approval. If you need more then you go to underwriting. -
As an addendum to my prior post... I use to post a lot in the Business Credit forum until eventually the forum became nothing but a means for those with bad credit to scam the banks by establishing business credit. Myself and others stopped offering advice completely. I would guess that the forum at one time may have had more than 100 posts per day. Now that forum is lucky to see one or two posts a day. Why you ask? Because there is no more business credit available. There are no banks left to scam. Even honest, legitimate, financially sound businesses have few options when it comes to credit. Getting a mortgage now is very tough. Soon there may be no credit available if we continue to endorse this total lack of moral responsibility.

Unfair?????????? You walk away from $200,000 of debt that you incurred and you think it's unfair that your credit score drops??? If you think that's unfair I'm sure you will feel truly rejected when all your revolving accounts are either closed or balance chased. Expect another 100 point drop, it will happen! So if it's unfair that you lose your favorable credit score how do you describe the situation to the poor fools that have to pay back your debt. Whether you realize it or not it's the taxpayer that will be burdened for your stupidity. You state that you have two houses which you obviously can't afford. Is this fair to other citizens that pay their mortgage, rent, and otherwise live within their means? There are an estimated $5 Trillion in upside down mortgages nationwide. Where will the money come from to pay those in default? My advice to you is to pay your bills. Get a second or third job. Rent your house. Take in boarders. Sell your car, furniture, jewelry, etc. Yesterday, one of the moderators (Breeze) threatened to censor me because I advised an OP to get a second job instead of filing BK twice. I had other members call me un-patriotic and racist in the thread because I offered morally sound advice. If the moderators want to censor me because I'm one of the few that doesn't offer advice on on how to game the system, how to scam the bank, how to dodge responsibility, then so be it. All this sense of entitlement will soon come to a close soon as it's not sustainable. Eventually there won't be a great USA that our parents grew up in. Instead we will go down in history as the greatest welfare state of all time with nothing left for our future or the future of our children.

If you have it you could offer a $2000 cash deposit plus your card. They might accept it. The liability is so high especially for the casual rider that there are few companies in this business. In Hawaii they charge $150 - $200 per day for motorcycle rental, about 4x the rate one would pay for a top of the line luxury car from Hertz or Avis.

"Pre-Qualified" USBank FlexPerks Business Travel Rewards Visa
craigg replied to BobWang's topic in Credit Forum
Someone else posted a US Bank pre-approval yesterday with generally poor terms. His offer was for the cash back rewards at 1/2% and a 14%+ interest rate. It's nice to see offers from a reasonably strong bank but too bad that the terms leave little to be desired. -
I had the Sam's club business card. Limit was up to $20K with no PG. I was trying to get the Sam's Discover w/o PG but the underwriter said they needed to see more usage. Fast forward to the first financial collapse and GE sends me a letter that due to economic conditions they're reducing our line to $5k. I called them and told them that since they were having such financial troubles that they could keep the $5k and close the account. They didn't seem to care much and neither did I If you want it be prepared to PG the account. The Discover card will likely require a 720+ FICO. In my opinion there are better options.

The OP may find a legal loophole to escape his responsibilities but it doesn't make it right. I understand that we all make mistakes and basically he was forgiven the first time. If he didn't learn from that experience when will he ever learn. As a society how long must we continue to bailout those that are habitually irresponsible?

How about a part time job? Night job? $30k is not that much to work down. Do you have equity in your home? Can you sell it and pay off the debt? You received a "get Out of Jail Card" six years ago. How many times do you want to repeat the same behavior. At some point you have to accept responsibility for your actions.

I wouldn't do it as the small score benefit would be of little value and you will be on the hook for the condo. One can never predict the future. Condo values can plummet easily. Relationships fail. Depending on income you may be able to buy a new house using your income alone. This logic also applies to credit cards. Joint accounts rarely make sense unless one can't qualify for the loan on their own. Also, you don't need a mortgage for a high FICO. I have no mortgage reporting and my scores are between 790 - 810.

If business is registered as Sole Proprietorship....
craigg replied to pressman0523's topic in Credit Forum
For a sole proprietorship most banks will pull chex when opening a checking/savings account. If you're looking for a merchant account so that you can accept credit cards then they will definitely pull credit. There are other requirements too, such as having a checking account for deposits, business license, etc. If your credit is poor you will face a decline, high rates, security deposit. -
As the Fed imposes more regulations on the banks, the banks retaliate with stricter underwriting or entire product elimination. In general the card act hasn't helped most consumers. The top prime customers are seeing higher interest rates with the average margin over prime equaling 10 points. Those in the middle of the road are being declined frequently or facing very low credit limits. Business customers have very few choices with all offers requiring a very strong personal guarantee. The sub prime customer and/or those new to credit also have very few choices. Look at the new sub prime leaders such as BestBuy/HSBC which approves most applicants with a big fat $100 limit and 30% interest, or Crap1 Secured which is taking in thousands of applications daily as they have no competition. The more big government becomes involved in your life the fewer personal freedoms you will have.
