I was excessively obsessed with perfect score and had paid off several accounts before the statement is realased. That was old. New me - dont care for credit score anymore, only care to maximize my finances while not paying high interest or no interest at all. Only worry when the score dips below 800.

I have been randomly asking for CLI and each time they come up with less usage on the card, balances are low compared to limits and some other BS reasons. Moved from 10k to 12k in almost 24 hrs and I keep it for the sake of age. For the past 4 years, I kept using it for $10 to $30 per year, once or twice in the year not exceeding my self imposed limit.

Like the title says, Penfed is the worst. They hold every ACH transfer incoming or outgoing for at least 2 days. Several times the incoming ACH shows processing for days... ACU - amazingly fast and literally no hold. What are your experiences?

Whatever you do, do not contact those fluff agencies which promise to reduce the tax burden. A Friend of mine who has business and made some money when he sold it and neglected to pay taxes. Years later he talked to IRS and negotiated a lower amount and got in a payment plan. This was all based on his current income and he joined our company on lower wages (he asked for starting wage for the role), then once he was done paying IRS, he quit the job and found a better one. Not advocating you do this, but giving you an example of IRS dealt with him.

We have 4 memberships acquired 15 years ago with a merger. We were always treated as redheaded step child and we closed them almost 7 years ago. NFCU or Alliant are far better than what USAA does to non-military folks. Lately the military folks are moving away from USAA for auto insurance as their rates have sky rocketed.
