I never mentioned Sanford's name. I stated an "elected' official. I mentioned Argentina as his romantic destination....is that political? My reference was that his (the un-named elected official's behavior was a more valid example of ethics or lack thereof than a bk filimg.IMO) SO stated that part of her job was to judge the 'ethical nature of money.' Who gave her the job? Below are more; Chapter 7 is for people with no income.....WRONG You lose everything in a Chapter 7........WRONG Chapter 7 discharges all debts except student loans.......WRONG AGAIN. Chapter 7 stops accruing interest on student loans.......WRONG, WRONG, WRONG File bk when it makes sense...........WTH does that mean. Chapter 13 is for those with lower debts........SHE'S BATTING 1000 NOW. OMG she got a couple right.....chater 13 gives the debtor time to repay debts and allows the debtor to keep assets. I'm not even going into her ignorance of foreclosures. Her stmt that 9 out of 10 loan modifications on defaulted mortgages have been successful is either a lie or a figment of her imagination or both. Finally, the timing of filing bk is an important strategy. If one is unemployed with no prospects of a job or a source of income post-discharge any competent bk atty would advise waiting to file. If that involves ignoring debt you can not pay....that is what you must do. This has nothing tio do with ethics and everything to do with filing bk 'when it makes sense.' If you;re contemlating filing bk........do NOT waste your time listening to people like Suzie moron. Ignore those righteous, moralist jerks who make it their mission to judge others. Filing bk is not a moral issue and could involve ignoring debts until the timing of the filing is in your best interests. sm I can't stomach her condescending manner combined with her lack of depth.

I am posting back to this thread in the bk forum.

Oh BOO-HOO! I hope it gets blown to smithereens. Thanks for posting a well deserved crappy thread that should be locked. Your welcome, reverend hegemony
-
She presented almost 100% innacurate stmts. The only correct ONE I remember was one can keep assets in a 13. Even that contextually was not 100% accurate. She has been duly criticized by legal sholar many times on her ignorance of the bk laws. I don't need a Suze Orman sermon to preach ethics to me. I have spent a lifetime on developing my own. I do not feel the need to preach ethics to others....except my children while I was raising them to adulthood. "SAD" is the need some have to post crap like this......try an original thought once in awhile. sm
-
Oh GAG me. Suze Orman knows less about the bk process than most of our members. This segment is another example of many that proves that. She is the bane of bk professionals' existence. There oughta' be a law against someone making so many WRONG stmts under the false auspices of being a money and/or financial 'guru.' Oh big cow pad! The whole segment was full of innaccuracies and typical Suze 'ethics.' Filing bk is legal and should be a personal business decision made after gathering all pertinent data. Going to Argentina to visit your mistress when you're married and an elected official is an example of an ethical decision. Not a bk filing. Get the Suzes' of the world off the bully pulpits. Quit listening to 'moralist' like Suze............she is living in a big glass house throwing stones. Her past is not exactly morally perfect. Most of what she stated in this clip is legally WRONG! Notice nothing is said about the CC industry.....like Chitti and Skank of America making profits this quarter. Gee I wonder how the SOBs did that? Is this the TARP $$s they refuse to report where they went? DUH! They took the money and didn't lend any.....that is NOT a profit. That is the'hand is quicker than the eye' economics. Now the crooks are arbitrarily raising interest rates. A college accounting major in bookkeeping 101 would know these CROOKS make money on chargeoffs because of the writeoffs' effect on their taxes. For example a poor schmuck is making the minimums month after month.....finally they can't do it anymore as the well runs dry. Usually by that time the principal has been fully paid a couple of times over. The debtor becomes a CO account. The OC takes the write off.....and then sells the debt to a CA. IMO everyone should have their priorities....their God, their family, their country. If you need bk.....FILE! sm BTW....who died and left ANYONE the judge of what is moral and what is not. Ignoring Chitti bank is unethical. But paying them and not feeding your family is not....PUHLEEZE. Ethical 'cliff notes' are the tools of righteous a$$holes, IMO. Mind your own ethics and leave me in peace with mine, thank you very much.

Upon learning of MJ's death I posted a thread topic stating he was, like my sister, a victim of legal homicide commited by MDs with script pads and pens. Another member responded strongly to what I stated. I fully understand her side of the issue. Trust me, no one wants to read the list of ailments my sister suggered from.....especially me. The member in question made some attacks on me personally in the heat of the moment. Days later she sent me a PM apologizing for her statements aimed at me. She justifiably did not want to rescucitate the thread by posting an apology in public. Yet I do want to publicly thank her for her thoughts and for the nice things she said to me in the PM. If I had to eat all the words I said in haste and repented in leisure......I would be a contestant in the new reality show, "Dancing my a$$ off!" Thank you, sirrowan, and may your mother not suffer more than is necessary. In my thoughts, savemanatees

I was married to a doctor who was addicted to the benzodiazepams. He ended up taking 200 mg of xanax a day. I left him. How can you deal with the personality and mood changes? Make sure they can't get into the hands of teenagers. Thanx for the nice words.
-
Thank you for your nice words, Trevor & Marvbear, We need to protect our teenagers against these opoids. They have been running PSAs on the TV where kids are going through their parents bathroom medicine chests, The msg being that your kids don't hve to get street drugs. Many times they have a fine supply of prescription drugs right at home. We should all check our med cabinets and get these drugs beyond the reach of our children and their friends.
-
Fentanyl, morphine, demerol beat out oxycotin.....they are harder to get. Xanax is highly addictive but only deadly in HUGE amounts. But when part of a cocktail Alzaprozalem (xanax) has a dangerous enhancing effect. So it could be a serious contributing factor. For example let's say MJ got an injection before going to sleep and there was no xanax included. But at 11:30 AM when the sketchy doctor gave him his injection he included 2 mg of xanax. The Dr. comes back at 1:00 PM finding MJ in respiratory distress......then it is possible the addition of a relarively small amount of xanax could have exponentially enhanced another opoid in the injection. Basically enhancing the strength to lethal levels. that is why everyone should read the section in the drug insert CONTRAINDICATIONS before taking any prescribed meds. Narcane is ineffective against fentanyl. If you OD on Fentanyl you are a goner.
-
Yes I know they can get the drugs. My sister would travel to an ER in another city to try and get them. She would get in screaming fights with the nurses and doctors. Yet most of my family lives in TX and the border wars have dried up the weed supply. Yeah, yeah I got weed smokin' cuzzuns. So you would think they could control opoids better. Believe me - she was a PITA. She was an addict. My sis died of the cocktail but the highest concentration was fentanyl which is legal heroin. Deepak Chopra said on Larry King that the deaths from scripted drugs was higher than from street drugs. Having Parkinson's is a big temptation to opoid up. I'd rather go out with my dignity like Farrah Fawcett. Opoids are an epidemic problem.....too bad MJ had to die in order to start shedding light on it. sm
-
We were 6 but she was my only true sibling. We had 4 brothers. But they were never as close as me and my sis. Losing a sibling like I did and now the Jackson's is incredibly painful. You go through stages of anger, blame, denial and eventually acceptance. I haven't reached acceptance yet. I didn't cry until I saw Farrah Fawcett's documentary. Farrah had cancer...as most of you know I have Parkinson's. Thank you, sweet bf, sm

Bidders fight for Michael Jackson memorabilia
savemanatees replied to hegemony's topic in General Discussion
HEGE- In the coming days, weeks and months there will be millions of stories regarding MJ memoribilia among other things. Do you think we can wait until his corpse is cold and he has a funeral and proper burial before posting about all the ghouls who will be chasing his white gloves. It is sorta' turning my stomach. sm -
THEN THIS: If there is no money left in his estate to pay the cremation costs inform Social Services you do not have any funds.......and just leave him at the hospital morgue. In fact REFUSE to transfer the corpse. They have 10 days to cremate him. The SS Benefit should be his. I will research this. BUT $255.00 pays for bumpkus. I know this sounds cold and heartless but funerals are for the THOSE LEFT BEHIND - THE LIVING. Trust me, your dad won't care. I lost my sister who was always giving me instructions on her funeral. She told me. "NO VIEWING!" I used to laff and tell her what the hell does she care she is not going to be there! When she died her sons were at the funeral home making the arrangements.......I told them I was just the payor except I wanted an urn with half her ashes because I'm going to add mine to hers. Two sisters with one big heart we shared. Anyway her son wanted a viewing. The casket rental was $750.00 for an hour. I nodded my head.....he wanted closure, I could afford it..........so for his sake, feelings and memories of his mother I went against her wishes. So go to NC. Visit the local funeral homes and see if one will cremate pro bono and give you your dad's ashes in a simple box so you can scatter them. If not......let Social Serices do their job. I have a prepaid funeral plan. It was $2,800 for the cremation. As I said earlier half my ashes will be scattered. Half mixed in my sister's urn. Then we have a spot in a mausoleum where we can be together forever. I empathize with you as I did my dad's, brother's and sister's. My dad died in my arms. I whispered goodbye right in his ear to the best daddy in the world. Bless you, savemanatees PS TRUST ME - He won't care. You will - but if there are no $$s there are no $$s.

My sister was not a big celebrity. She was you and me yet like Michael Jackson and many before him she died by the doctor's pen. Yes I got the call @ 2AM telling me my sister was gone....I replied "where did she go?" The answer was the one I had dreaded for years. She was dead. My sister was a 'legal' drug addict. She loved the pain killers...demerol. morphine, vicodin, dilaudid, fentanyl.....and she knew how to get them. She didn't have to go to back alleys or South Philly to score. She just called one of her doctors. My sister's doctors were located everywhere and included such notables as Dr. Michael DeBakey in Houston. But she also had her "sweet, little, old GP" in FL who would write her a script for whatever she wanted. Yes, she was a doctor shopper extraordnaire. In the days to come we will be overwhelmed with every detail of MJ's death. Deepak Chopra stated the truth....he was murdered by doctors who provided these opoid drugs to him. His family will feign ignorance. Yet they knew.......you have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to know. Yet like me there was nothing they could do. One might state, "it is the drug addict's fault. They must take the responsibility!" My reply is to try a small dose of these meds......the effect is better than the most enjoyable feelings you have ever felt. You feel like you can fly. You might ask, "Why didn't you DO something for your sister." My sister was 14 months younger than I and was my closest, nearest, dearest friend and sibling. I fought her addictions for almost 10 years. I paid dearly during the times she wouldn't speak to me or refused to see me. The addict finally wears you down. I had her involuntarily committed more times than you can count. I cared for her sons for 7 years. I made sure they only saw their mother at her best. I nurtured their relationship in order to protect her sons from her addictions. I reported her doctors to the State Medical Boards. It got to the point that she would lie, hide and cut off communications with me. Once she went three months refusing to speak to me or to see me. WE were almost twins.....I couldn't live without having her in my life. The question is WHY is there not a database of people on these drugs? In that way a reputable DR. could have the database checked before supplying these killer drugs. Limit the amount of these drugs a patient can purchase. Better yet disallow the use of these death drugs to in hospital care only. We have long discussions regarding the morality and ethics of euthanasia. But some Drs. think nothing of writing a script for morphine, demerol, vicodin, laudid et al.. They know by the patient's chart how much they've prescribed. IMO, it is merciful to medicate the terminally ill. What is immoral is hooking the patient with back pain on pain killers, many times more powerful than one needs, and then continue feeding their patient's addiction. The tolerance to these drugs builds up so more and more is required in order to get the same effect. This throws out of balance all the other drugs.....and the person dies of respiratory failure which causes cardiac arrest. IMO, MJ didn't mean to commit suicide. He was optimistic about his upcoming concerts. He had lived quietly with his children far from the public glare since his last trial in 2005. Definitely not the plans or actions of a person contemplating suicide. But like my sister he was playing Russian Roulette with drugs more dangerous than bullets. Combine these drugs with anti-depressants, aspirin or other innocent sounding maintenance drugs and eventually you hit the right cocktail that kills with no warning. In the days to come think of MJ's family. Try not to be harsh. Much like me they want to 'blame' someone. May Michael Rest in Peace and may my sister befriend him. They were both sweet souls. The most important cause will be to STOP this prescribing of the drugs that will be on MJ's toxicology report as they will be similar to the ones on my sister's, Heath Ledger's, Daniel Smith's and his mother's, Anna Nicole Smith. This is a national epidemic that needs to be controlled. Stop allowing the killing of our loved ones to be legal. I hope his children do not become public freaks. That good sense and sincere hearts do what is best for them. On a last note...I watched Farrah Fawcett's documentary of her battle with anal cancer as well. She is my role model. I hope I deal with my illness as bravely and with as much dignity as she did. She is definitely an 'angel' now. Her documentary was the bravest film which truly depicted the death journey of someone with stage four cancer. Finally, let us remember Ed McMahon. He spanned generations of television generations. The end of his life was fraught with financial distress......he was in his mid 80s. God blessed him with a large family, a successful career and the time to enjoy it. I'll say a prayer for his family. I'm usually in the bk forum......during these tough economic times make sure you hug your children every chance you get. Don't take for granted your good health.....it really sux when it goes. If you're unemployed and find yourself with some free time go volunteer. If you know people less fortunate than yourself....share what you have. It is this American Spirit that has made us the greatest nation of people. Now more than ever we must care for each other. God bless, sm
