  1. Thank you Whychat. I assume it's ok to go to the hospital and get a copy of the charges? Just seemed strange they never even billed me...
  2. Office visit at hospital run medical clinic last June, I gave them my current address info. I never received a bill. Pretty much forgot about it until I got a letter from collection agency, and now it's on my CRs. Where do I start, go to hospital's billing dept. for a copy of the bill? I don't even know what the charges are.
  3. I have two separate 2 year old medical accounts from an MVA that have been sent to CAs by the OCs. I had planned to use proceeds from the PI settlement to pay them off using Whychat's process. My attorney has now received the settlement funds but is insisting that the payoffs be made by their firm from the funds which are now in their escrow account. I explained to my atty that there is a "process" which I had hoped to use to enable me to dispute these off my CRs. I told him it was important that we avoid dealing with the CAs. He is willing to work with me on this so I told him I would get him a copy of (Whychat's) Hipaa letter to Health care provider. I suspect he will want to cut checks in the firm's name from the escrow. Will this undermine the idea of sending money orders? He also wants to contact the providers to obtain true payoff figures. Could this be a problem or could it work to advantage to have atty involvement in the payment process? I have not yet disputed the accounts with the CRAs. I have opted out and disputed off old addresses. With regards to contact with the CAs, the first account was sent to Omnium and I DVed them (before I found this site), they responded with a copy of the hospital billing statement. I avoided any further contact with Omnium. In January I received a letter from CBE Group that the account was "forwarded" to them. I have not had any contact with CBE Group. I don't think there is any relation between Omnium and CBE. With the other CA, I only had one contact about a year ago when I inadvertently answered one of their phone calls. I only told them that I was waiting for an insurance payment and denied him any more information. I hung up on him when he started quizzing me for more info. I have not had any further contact with them. My main concern is whether the attorney involvement and/or the contacts I had with the CAs will hurt my efforts to get the accounts deleted from the CRAs. Thanks for any advice!
