Non Receipt Showing Customer Says He Was Physically Threatened
soldiergurl74 replied to hegemony's topic in VISA MC policies
All of these problems would be avoided if the person would have just handed the little old lady the receipts. Being asked to show your property that was in full display at the register is not an invasion of your privacy. Let these folks do their jobs, and quit being a jerk. Getting all huffy over such a trivial exchange is a waste of time. -
I'm at Fort Hood.. it was pretty crazy. Pray for the families and victims, as I understand that not all are out of the woods yet.

Marvelous! Once you've been violated, the joy of being able to again shop freely at a previously-violating store is indescribable. Wow... it sure doesn't take much to make you happy.

The last time I encountered a minimum (at the mom and pop dry cleaner) I didn't report them either... they are just trying to make a living.... in fact, I had no cash, and they told me to just pay them next time rather than use the credit card (I did)

Very different from using your neighbor's signal.. for example, if the network is called "Jonesnet" or (sigh) "belkin" You can assume it is your neighbors and is not free. Just becuase someone doesn't encrypt it, doesn't mean that you can use it.

Amex: This is weird, but I'm not complaining

Glad to see some good news about amex. I am back on board with a plat card... so far, no issues. -
U.S. Govt Background Checks and Security Clearances

They pulled a hard on EQ and TU and a soft on EX for me. -
Give me a break Bellama... as a former soldier and a civilian who went to Iraq I think you are way out of line. Our (civilians) compensation for our service in the war zone is our pay which is MUCH higher than any servicemember. Additionally, we go there willingly, and we can leave anytime we want (including to go home and defend against a lawsuit if necessary) Going overseas as a highly paid contractor is not a selfless act deserving of any special entitlements or protection. It is a self-serving situation that benefits the individual. If you want to wave the flag and think that your fiance is a hero, have him join back up. Otherwise, enjoy the large paychecks and leave the special treatment to the soldiers, sailors and airmen and marines.

that doesn't stop other people...(including myself) LOL This is true.... expecting some to surpass googie in post count.

If he helps with the mortgage payment and/or contributes to expenses...why not? He's a member of the household, crazy or no. And you really should give poor uncle ralph a room. Crazy Uncle Ralph & folks trying to count the cat's kitty litter coupons as income is likely another reason why Amex and others have gotten aggressive with CLDs and FRs yup. some people just can't connect the dots... SCS? Agree 100% where the heck have you been? Just lurking man... I had/have nothing valuable to add

RANT: Definition of TOO much time on your hands
soldiergurl74 replied to zhhkrtq's topic in VISA MC policies
I don't know that the disputing is as lame as the 20 minute temper tantrums that some throw at the register, screwing up (or making late) the day of everyone behind them... not to mention that these tantrums usually result in them stomping out bound for another store after losing to the manager. -
Army's 'Debt Of Service' Leaves Vets Perplexed
soldiergurl74 replied to InsultComicDog's topic in Credit Forum
The vast majority of lost equipment is not due to the body armor getting cut off the guy when he is mortally wounded.... most of it is simply lost or stolen, and the soldier should be, and is held accountable. The Army does screw up and bill guys for things that they shouldn't be, but using those stories as an example, or suggesting that it is the norm is only to stir up emotions and anti-war/military sentiment....
