  1. well, ya it stunk the $100 bills. But electric was cheap. oh well. Trade up or trade down we're still broke. PS. Thanks for feeling for me, I think they in all have the right to force tenant to pay.
  2. the person's poor performance is what will be the reason she loses her job, whether you say something or not. I hope she doesn't kill somebody. I hope she is watching her ipod and gets caught, then poof she's gone.
  3. they have great big mixers and get free food every month at a new place of business which is trying to schmooze more business.
  4. it's 230.00, city water in the summer months is about $100 per month. we were trying to sell the house so we watered the lawn. Even in the winter the water is about 60 per month. its about 2.5 mos. service they are trying to collect on. There are a lot of bonds on the city services, its very expensive.
  5. It's not legal for a utility to disconnect tenant B's service because tenant A, who previously vacated the house, hasn't paid their bill. do you think it matters I am the owner of the house, not just a tenant or occupant?
  6. well we're pretty close to major problems now so I wouldn't be suprised if they did move out and left us with a vacant house in the middle of winter, making the pipes freeze and vandals damage. I am very discouraged right now due to everything, EVERYTHING, working harder than ever before and not being able to get caught up. Might as well just give up trying. Its just too hard to get ahead. We are always 29 days late on everything and haven't been able to make headway in 60 days since being moved. We are making more money than ever but the load is just too big. I have been working since mid August and received two tiny paychecks. My first paycheck from my new real job is coming on Oct 2 and its already earmarked and will be gone 5 min. after it hits the bank. If I try to pat myself on the back, if we'd stayed there we'd be out on our azzes in the middle of winter and no way to move to get to make money. I am glad we made the move. I am in a job getting paid more than I ever had (its not bad for entry level job) and my family will soon have benefits for the first time in a SUPER long time. With all the hard work I have to do and the emotional strain it is, though I don't see how I will ever be able to go back to school to get to be RN. For the kind of job I think I would love, I think I need a BSN.
  7. I don't know, centex maybe makes sense, I just can't grasp how my private business with the city gets forced on unsuspecting people.
  8. Well, then tell the tenants to head to small claims court and get their money back. it would probably be us they'd sue, knowing our luck.
  9. its a small town, they all know who is who and who isn't. There is no need to prove we don't live there its quite obvious.
  10. I accidently double posted. I don't have the authorization to call the city and shut off the water of the tenant, since its not my account. but I bet the city could try to collect from me if the tenant didn't pay, since I own the home.
  11. chris, the only piece of info that may make the scenario different is that we own the home still. but other than that your scenario is how I see it. Wether or not I am wrong I don't know because i am dog tired from working so much, and not yet seeing paychecks. So the city forces the tenant to pay the previous bill of another user by shutting off their water, That doesn't seem right. if it were still in my name, well YES that is another story.
  12. I am not disagreeing with you guys, Just wanted to clarify that the tenants have an account in their name, we are not responsible for the tenants water we do not get billed for it. Our city services stopped at the end of July and are no longer accruing. What I don't understand is how services of a tenant who is paying their bill and has services in their name since Augustl can be interrupted because the homeowner's unpaid bill from July is not paid. That is what I don't understand. It wasn't their balance.
  13. We left our Idaho house and there are tenants in it. Our city water bill hasn't been paid yet. The city called the tenants and told them the water was going to be shut off because we hadn't paid our bill. The tenants called us. We called the city and told them that if the city did anything to interfere with the tenants paying our rent that we wouldn't be able to make our payment and our house would probably go into forclosure since its very close to 30 days late. So then the city tells the tenants this, and they call us again. I don't have proof this happened except the city water bill being disclosed to a third party, the tenants wrote a letter and and told us what happened and took the money out of the rent. I was hoping the letter said something about forclosure but it didn't. I think the city has disclosed something they shouldn't have to the tenants and now they could actually owe us. What do you think?
  14. no angelfood ministries located, I did a search of ontario oregon and boise idaho. I don't think it would be worth it anyway, as it costs $30 to drive to Ontario and back and $60 to Boise and back. When we are in Boise or Nampa, we go to costco and I use their laundry soap and their dishwasher soap, Kirkland brand its usually very cheap. like 4 cents a load for laundry and stuff.
  15. we already do portion control, as I am a weight watchers leader. I limit my meats to 2lb per main meal. for 7 people. I also try to limit the price I pay to two different types, $2 a lb for beef and chicken breast, and $1 a lb for others. I cook from scratch, we dont' eat ramen noodles or hamburger helper. We don't eat high fat foods and processed foods, etc. I don't have to buy a lot of meat because we bought a whole beef august 2006, this is nearly gone. We bought 1.5 hogs this august. Our meat supply is low right now but we've got food to eat in you KWIM.
