  1. Call and ask for a credit for the late payment fee as a courtesy. If you've been with them for a while and this is your first time being late, they will credit that back.
  2. Wow..I just came back here to see of my post was deleted because I figured this was old useless info but I'm glad it was well received. I hope it helps save a few dollars. Especially with so many repairs going on due to recent weather issues. And yes, to clarify, it's for the HD store credit card. I've had both cards Lowes&HD for a while but used Lowe's the most due to discount. The cashier didn't tell me this policy. I just happened to mention that lowes offers 5% discount and HD should too. And then the clerk cheerfully said "oh yes we do now. All you have to do is ask for it." And then she went on to say "& if you have a Lowe's credit card, we'll also something,something,something..." I blocked her out after that. ..lol. Now as far as getting 10% discount at PRO register, I'll try and ask. Thanks
  3. I know this is probably no big deal to anyone and who cares right? But because I have used this board for many many years in helping me after bankruptcy in '03, getting good credit cards, paying off irs debts and getting into fico 800 club and then eventually buying my first home, I had to share this tip just in case it would help one person. If this isn't appropriate I'll understand removing it.
  4. Been there with best buy...No 5% cash back on computers..but they gave it to me anyway out of courtesy..YMMV..
  5. Okay , the first rule of thumb while shopping for a mortgage is to not open any NEW lines of credit, but... I had an account with them a few years back and I closed it a months later. I am considering reactivating it so I can get a generous line of credit. Nasa rep said there was no problem reactivating my checking/savings acct. Question....since I already applied for a mortgage yesterday and they DID run my credit report ( I wont be using them though for the mortgage they approed me for), can I go ahead and apply for a cc as well without it showing up on my CR as an opening of new line of credit?
  6. Thanks shifter. That was it exactly but I didn't word it correctly.
  7. Sorry if my question wasn't clear enough for everyone else. I apologize for that. I feel kind of stupid now for posting in the first place. Thanks for the information from the other responders. That's the info I needed since there is no real direct answer. I'll check out credit card chaser.
  8. I would like to get people's opinion. Also, high personal finances not an requirement for approval.
  9. Thank you all for your responses.. Now my Equifax fico score should be more in line with my other two reports.
  10. Yes, Equifax sent me a revised copy of my report with all negative info removed.... thank you
  11. The CFPB has successfully removed the 2 tax judgments & liens from my Equifax credit report as of 3/4/14. Does anyone have an idea how long will it take for my fico score to reflect the correction?
  12. Update...just converted my More to IT mainly for the 1% and Fico score. I also got a little increase of $1500 for my trouble. All soft inq's of course. Should've asked for 2k...lol.. Thank you CBr's. You guys and gals are my rock!
  13. OMG Chupa... No wonder I couldn't find the thread. Thank you.
