First off, thanks to everybody on the site for all the great info.
Now here's the situation.
I have a Collection on my credit report for $50.
It reads the Original Creditor is a local Hospital.
I dont know what this is, I dont even think I owe it, but I dont even remember, so I'm not sure.
It says it was placed for collections on 9/2004
The original Balance is $50
And the collection balance is $50.
I want this off my report, and I'm tempted to just pay it since it's only $50.
But should I dispute?
Request validation?
Or send them a letter saying I'll pay it off only if they delete it from my credit report.
And if there is a sample letter that's perfect for this situation, can someone post a link to one.
Thanks in advance.
By the way, off topic: I'm battling Discover Card right now also, I got a summons, I counter claimed (incorrect balance) and next thing I know my score went up 24 points for now while it's in dispute, but we'll see.
