  1. I have no experience with mergers but my wife with a 1 30 day late reporting over a $4 mishap has had no luck at all with HSBC. She got a letter today from Capital One telling her they now own her Helzberg/HSBC card. I had success with Capital One years ago with a late, so should I send Capital One a goodwill or will it just get forwarded to the same HSBC people again?
  2. Who did you speak and to how many that said the late would kill your FHA chances? I don't really see that unless it's because it's post bk. I heard two 30 's in a year or 1 60 would not be much of a problem. Start with a goodwill, probably your only chances if it was truly 30 days late
  3. I'll take a stab at an email if you want to pm me .. thanks
  4. I would call the court or look online to see if there is actually a judgment against you which I highly doubt there is. They sound like scare tactics from a collection agency. I'm also guessing there is no judgment on your reports? I would also check the statute of limitations in your state fraudulent or not.
  5. I was pretty much in the spot as you with 3 citi cards. I found another card with low int and I bt'd .That is your best option unless you can get a loan from a cu and pay them all off. I was paying 200 a month in int just on a wells card so I know how you feel. Now I'm only paying like 30 over a total of 3 cards.
  6. yeah you should do this no doubt about it. It will do nothing but help unrest you start racking up balances again.
  7. Dispute it as obsolete and move on. It'll more than likely come off.
  8. thanks ...I thought about that and hsbc has their own way of going about things and are pretty unforgiving. I still think the october payment is the month that should be reported 30 days since that month is the one that was not paid for for over 30 days. I can see how it works both ways but I still think they are reporting wrong.
  9. If I was you I would opt out, dispute ALL old address, name variations and then I would dispute all negative accounts with the cra's using the jack attack approach all cmrr. If that doesn't work search for similar name/person dispute method.
  10. will if you didn't pay your seller fees then yeah that debt is legit. They didn't issue you credit, they charge a seller fee and % of the final price. As already sent out a DV , I would immediately send disputes to the Cra's jack attack style..
  11. lets say a payment was due 10/24 and the minimum payment is $35 but only a $30 in store payment was made so obviously by 11/24 it is 30 days late as the min payment wasn't met. Payment was made for the new min of $46 on 11/29 online but returned 11/29 because this person used a different bank name than what the account number was. This went unnoticed for 3 days until a new statement was cut on 12/1 and a new min was due 12/24 for $90 which was paid on 12/2. so technically the 10/24 payment was 44 days late..right? If I'm not mistaken HSBC should be reporting October 30 days late but they are reporting December 30 days lates after initially reporting November but they switched it to December without any contact. I have goodwill'd a few times, faxed info and now have a dispute with the cra's. Obviously it being removed is the best option but reporting the right month so its 6 months ago is will do for now. They have sent the same letter 5 times just stating how it's reporting, not why or reasons .. . Thanks HSBC but we know..thats the problem. If I'm wrong then I'll go from there but if they verify through the cra's is the next step complaints to the OCC and BBB?
  12. go to download.com and download and run malwarebytes and avg. I'd also recommend hijackthis to clean up your registry. also while your at it click on start>run>type msconfig in the box> click selective startup> click startup tab> click disable all... hit apply then it'll prompt you to restart your pc.
  13. do you owe microsoft money? Sounds sketchy at best. Id call microsoft and not with any phone number from that email.
  14. I suppose I'll say it 741??
